With spectacular 180 degree views of Frenchman's Bay and Mt. Desert Island, Acadia Vista is the perfect spot to enjoy the best of Maine. Located in the famous community of Hancock Point, Acadia Vista offers easy access to Acadia National Park and other attractions, in a peaceful, quiet and beautiful setting. Go hiking, biking, sailing, kayaking, play tennis, or just sit and watch the ever-changing view from the picture windows.
Acadia Vista has an open living/dining/kitchen area. Two large picture windows look out onto the water. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, stove with microwave oven, double sink, washer and dryer and ample counter space. There are plenty of pots and pans, kitchen gadgets such as a food processor, glassware, silverware, cutlery and dinnerware. The dining room table can be expanded to seat 8. The master bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, ample closet space and a full bathroom with walk-in shower. The second bedroom has bunk beds that are suitable for children or adults, and a bathroom with toilet and sink. Linens are supplied. There is sofa bed in the living room for overnight visitors.
Also known as the Bell Cabin, Acadia Vista was built in 1950 by Charles Edward Bell (who also built the beautiful Tudor-style home across the road) and has been in the Bell family since. In 2006, the family remodeled the interior, keeping the beautiful pine floors while adding an airy cathedral ceiling. The family truly loves this home and are pleased to make it available to others who will appreciate its many qualities.
Guests are welcome to borrow the two kayaks and bicycles (at their own risk) to explore the natural beauty of the area. There is a quaint and well-stocked summer library on the main road, and a lovely non-denominational chapel that offers a variety of worship services during the summer months. Hancock Point also boasts a wonderful inn, the Crocker House, which has a very fine restaurant. Acadia Vista also has cable TV, broadband internet access and free digital long distance within the US.

Year Purchased: 2005
Both sides of my family are from Maine; my parents met in Hancock Point and I have spent many summers in this idyllic place. Currently, I am a professor of fine and media arts at San Jose City College in California. Although far away in miles, I always find time to spend in Hancock Point every year.
Why the Owner Chose Hancock
I inherited this property from my father when he passed away in 2006. Rather than sell this property, I chose to keep it in the family and to offer it as a vacation rental. All of my family loves this place!
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
The view is spectacular and the house is so comfortable and easy to maintain. It's a perfect place to really relax.
