  We stayed New Years eve at this villa. Construction was stopped so it was not an issue. The views are great and the overall condition in teh villa was fine. We had a great time.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

  After reading the latest reviews, we were concerned about our stay. But we are here now, staying until Jan 10, and it's been amazing! As far as we can tell, construction across the street is over and lots are to be sold. The view is wonderful and Dolores has gone out of her way to provide amenities. We've had a great few days and catching the free boat and local bus has been easy and cheap. (6 pesos/ person to central Ixtapa or 9 pesos/ person to central Zihuatanejo). The pictures don't do this place justice, the open-air living space is awesome and completly suited for the climate. That said, if you expect 5-star, this may not be for you. But you can get beer/ ice/ water delivered with a simple phone call and there is a local pool attendant. We're here for a few more days if you have any questions.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  Owner response: I really appreciate your comments, Porto is a very big and beautiful place and the maintenance fees for the club, the marina, all the gardens, pools and the administrative office is very, very expensive plus the normal expenses of the villa. Thank you very much.

  My husband and I were scheduled to arrive in Ixtapa on 01/13/2013, on 12/24/2012 I received an email from Dolores advising us that construction had begun on the property adjacent to hers and she sent a picture of the "new view". I was VERY disappointed and responded back requesting a refund of our deposit if she did not have another unit to offer us. She was VERY quick to get back to me agreeing to refund our money...soooo nice that we did not have to argue/fight to get it back...and the money was deposited in our account today 12/27/2012. Dolores is very prompt about responding to any questions or concerns (even before all of this happened). I hope that the new construction does not take away from the privacy/beauty of her unit, because we are looking forward to staying there in the future. She is the kind of person that I like to do business with, very prompt and trustworthy!!!

  We did not last even one night in this villa, due to the reasons mentioned below (construction) but also because of the pest problem and high humidity. Renters should be aware that the unit is open concept leaving yourself exposed to pests, heat, and construction noise. The view has changed from the photos, now there is a large mound of dirt where the new units will be developed. We also found the unit to be of somewhat disrepair ( missing light bulbs, broken safe, doors not opening properly). We left the first night and found a different rental in Ixtapa. We were not notified of the construction from the owner and she has made no attempt to reimburse us for the rental. I would not reccommend this unit to anyone. There are better options in Ixtapa.

"YEs we have arrived. Everything ok at the suite. We have friends staying at another condo and are visiting them and enjoying our time in Ixtapa. Thank you. Alana" Next day "we left the unite and left the keys" because of Humidity (how can I change humidity in an OCEAN front unite) and pest (in an open floor plan to the terrace)and now you write this kind of review" complaining about two light bulbs, a door in a closet, and a safe box that by the way is not in my inventory, something is not ok with you. Many PH (not to mention a two bedroom unites)in other buildings do not have such a big terrace and private pool that you have in my villa.

  This is a beautiful villa, no question. However, construction has started on the next stage of the development in this community and it is RIGHT IN FRONT of the terrace of this villa. The construction started on the third day of my stay in late November 2012. It was unbelievably loud (you can't hear someone on the phone), it smells like diesel constantly and construction ran from 830am every weekday morning to 530pm each night. Given that the villa is an open concept, you cannot escape the noise or the fact that various construction workers can watch you on your terrace or in the villa. It made me feel very exposed and not safe. I would NOT recommend renting this condo for at least the next year, until construction is complete. I had to move to a different condo in another part of Ixtapa because of this disaster, which disrupted what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. That said, the owner, Dolores, was very understanding and kind and I feel for her as this is an unrentable property for the foreseeable future.

  My wife and I, along with another couple recently stayed the week in this fantastic villa. Dolores couldn't have been more wonderful in her communication, as well as doing everything possible to insure we had a great time in Ixtapa. The pictures she posted of the home as well as the view and the clubhouse amenities simply do not do this place justice! It is warm and inviting, and is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. There was plenty of room and space for everyone to enjoy. We always feel safe in Ixtapa, but having the added insurance of the gated community certainly provided more security. Ixtapa boulevard is just a short taxi cab away, and the Marina is easily accessed by the water taxi known as "Sharkey." Dolores and her son Victor made it known to us multiple times that if we had any questions, we should feel free to contact them during our stay. And Victor is a great guy who is well acquainted with the area. Check with him during your stay for deep sea fishing recommendations, as well as golf and dinner suggestions. I don't believe we will ever stay anywhere else when we are in Ixtapa. This is a beautiful home for you and your family to enjoy, and we can not speak more highly of Dolores and her son, Victor.

  This was our first trip to Ixtapa and we were pretty excited to see this Villa that we chose and we were not disappointed. The unit is quite nice and open with an amazing view of the ocean. It was so nice to have our own pool!! It is located inside an upscale complex and has very nice amenities including the restaurant and the free shuttle to the Marina. We did not meet Dolores but met her son Victor. He was very helpful and informative. No issues to report and would rent this Villa again if we returned. Thank you Dolores

  We have stayed at many places in ixtapa/zihua during 14 visits and this villa was as described and more.The viiew,private pool and beautiful surroundings cant be beat.However it is because of the local residents that keep us coming back.Thank you dolores our stay jan14-28 2012

  My husband & I just got back from a little piece of heaven on earth. This villa is beautiful & very romantic. There is so much to see & do in town, but when you get back to your own space, relaxing in your own private pool puts a nice cap on a perfect day. We found the people to be exceptionally friendly & helpful, most spoke very good English. We opted to grill at the villa a few nights but the rest of the time took advantage of some really wonderful restaurants. The food is so good...theres always fresh fish. We had a wonderful anniversary trip. Thank you Delores for the use of your very special villa. We will be returning. I think weve found our new vacation spot.
