Year Purchased: 2006
Casa Amore provides a respite from our currently hectic life. We visit to care for the property, for rest and rejuvenation, and to enjoy the wide variety of tourist activities accessible from it. I recently stayed there while writing my dissertation this winter. The inspiration of the natural beauty helped with my writing. The convenient location to McMinville, Corvalis, Salem, Portland and Neskowin beach made weekly excursions from my solitary endeavors easy.
Why the Owner Chose Amity
We purchased this unusual round home as our retirement home from a friend who created and named it. We fell in love with the unique natural beauty of the surrounding land, and the convenience of the location. As we drove up the hill toward the property for the first time, we felt we could breathe more deeply and shed some of the stress of our full lives. We had not known just how beautiful the Oregon natural environment was, nor how much there was to do. Friends and guests report similar experiences.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Something about the round house, the soaring wooden ceilings, and the uncluttered simplicity, combined with the natural beauty of the forest make it hard to leave this home. For this reason we added all the modern conveniences so that we could take working vacations, and so that others could stay a while also. We have furnished this home with personal antiques, art, and love, rather than as a purely functional vacation rental.
