Tropical magic in Napaili

We stayed this winter 2011 for 5 weeks! Dan and Donna were wonderful to work with. The room had everything you need to feel at home. We parked right at our door every night and our lania was steps from the pool and hot Tub. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant by the oceanside pool had wonderful food.The snorkeling was great and was great at the next two bays up. The turtles would sun on the rocks in front of pool in the evening and whale watching was also great. The the sea house restaurant. and Pineapple grill ( 2 for one appetizers on Friday night and live music) both had excellent food and in walking distance to our condo. Lahaina an old whaling town was a great place to go at night and we loved the mixed Plate to eat. You had ocean view , great food and very good prices. We can't wait to go back and stay in this same condo. We love the more laid by Hawaiian atmosphere than in the bigger towns in Hawaii.You can sit on the beautiful grounds and watch the sunsets and lovely Palm trees and tropical flowers and leave the rest off the world behind!

Great unit, excellent location

We loved this location and condo. Set back by the rear pool, the unit allowed us to escape the wind when necessary for the shelter of the condos. The condo has all the essential amenities and is clean and well kept. We also loved the proximity to so many great beaches and snorkeling spots. As a studio unit it is small but if all you need is a place to recharge for another day of fun outside it is ideal. Great value and we can't wait for a a return trip!

Enjoyed Our Stay

The condo is located in such a wonderful area. Everything we needed (grocery, restaurants) was nearby. The views of the ocean from the front lawn were so relaxing. We spent many an afternoon gazing out to sea by the lower pool. We actually saw a lot of whale-action from there! The pools were just a few steps from our lanai; the beach was just a short walk and we enjoyed early morning hikes along the pathway to Kapalua. All in all it was a great holiday. We have been to Maui often but never stayed in the Napili area before. It is now our favorite place and we will stay there again.

Owner response:We asked these guests what it was that caused them to hold back 1 point from our rating. They responded that there were a couple of minor maintenance issues that were needing attention; these were quickly and easily rectified. They also mentioned "we would certainly return AND will recommend your place". As we strive to maintain our condo to the highest standard we very much appreciated the feedback. Future guests: If you notice anything at all within the condo that is less than satisfactory please let us know right away. We have an excellent cleaning and maintenance company; they are available 24/7 and respond very quickly to our requests or those of our guests.

Napili Shores best condo

We went to Maui with 10 ppl and all stayed at Napili Shores. I saw 4 other rooms personally and I have to say, if you like tasteful, livable ambiance, this condo is for you. The remodel they did made it perfect in its simplicity and functionality. The king size bed is super comfortable. Loved it.

A Quiet Retreat

My wife and I stayed at this condo for a week in August 2010 and enjoyed it very much. One of our biggest concerns prior check-in was the condo does not have AC. Once we were inside the room, we notice there is a constant breeze circulate the house as long as the windows (front and back) are opened. It does get heated up a bit in the afternoon, but other than that the room stays pretty cool (not super cool though). We kept the fan on the whole time. The parking lot is completely covered in the shade which make getting in/out of the car much easier. If you like to snorkel, try "Honolua Bay" that is only 3.5 miles north and it is ranked the #1 snorkeling spot in Maui. Another great snorkeling spot is only a hundred yards from this resort (as you are approaching the beach, go left along the shore until you reach a secluded cove (aka "Honokeana Cove"). I spotted about 8 sea turtles and a rare "Flying Gurnard" in this cove on the very first day. Some snorkeling book has named Holokeana Cove being the calmest place to snorkel even on a most windy day.

Owner response:We wanted to enjoy cooling by natural breezes rather than keeping our Maui home tightly closed while operating a noisy AC system. The front of our condo opens wide to the spacious gardens and grassy areas while the plantation style shutters offer the feel of Hawaiin authenticity. As stated, the ceiling fan combined with the cross breezes from open doors and windows works well to keep our condo very comfortable in even the warmest summer months.

My husband and I are 1963 summer birthday babies. This year, I had an idea that we might want to return to Maui to celebrate. We had been once before and stayed at the same Outrigger property. How delighted I was to find a direct rental by the owners. We saved money, and dealt directly -- knowing exactly which room we'd be in. This condo was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Steps from the upper pool and hot tub -- but still quiet -- we only had to rise in the morning, put on bathing suits and go to the pool. The nearby gas grills gave us a place to cook food from the local supermarket instead of eating out. We dined on our lanai. It was perfect. The owners have a few boogie boards and sand chairs which we carried down to the bay everyday -- just a short walk from our condo. We rented snorkel gear at nearby Boss Frogs and spend most of our time floating in the bay watching fish, octopi and turtles. The owners were great to work with....we spoke on the phone several times and they were always friendly and helpful. We will return. Hoping for 2 weeks next summer!
