We love Kihei and have been to this area 5 time is past 10 years. Stayed at Maui Parkshore 4 of the 5 times. The location next to Kamaole Beach III and the sunsets are what brings us back. The unit was not as nice as we anticipated from the description and had to call the maintenance number to repair or replace basic cleaning equipment. The unit had no beach equipment and we had to purchase chairs etc. to enjoy the beach. The cooking equipment lacked any large pots for pasta and such and the absence of an oven, (microwave equiped with convection oven only) inhibited us from cooking pizza and other larger food items. It was equipped more like an RV then a condo. The price for rental was top range but amenities were average at best. The unit looked clean when we arived but the thin layer of dust that became apparent on the floors and countertops resulted in us having to clean up the unit. I was thinking of better things I could do then clean. On a positive note the lania blind was a very useful in shading the afternoon sun and the furniture was comfortable. The screens on the kitchen/living room lanai vent louvers were missing so had a few winged guests for dinner each night. Most of the window mechanisms were broken or missing. The lanai locking hardware was inoperable as well. Low risk as this was a third floor unit but speaks a bit to the condition of the unit. What was noticable on this trip was the high traffic noise from Souht Kihei Road and the early start of the grounds keepers. No air conditioning in these units results in having to leave the windows open at night and the noise brings a late to bed, early to rise senerio. On future trips I think we will look elsewhere.
