After retiring from IBM in 2001, My wife and I found Lake Toxaway almost by accident. We didn't know that such a place existed. There is a common phrase used here which says "You Don't Have to Die to Go to Heaven, You just move to Lake Toxaway". The jet stream makes the weather very pleasant here. Above 85 deg in the summer is considered very hot.
On Friday nights there is a large jamboree at the very large community center which can be seen in the valley below. Lots of music and fellowship go on here. Music is mostly Country and Bluegrass.
We are a couple of hours from the Smokies with Dollywood etc. The area has lots of festivals happening such as the Cherokee Indian reservation events, Brevard Music center, Biltmore estates and much more.
You won't lack for things to do as there are so many trails leading to wonderful water falls and great sites.
Whether you select this site or not, You're sure to love Lake Toxaway and you may get hooked as so many have.

Year Purchased: 2001
I am on the right in the photo. Waterfall in the background is 15 minutes away as are hundreds more. I fell in love with Lake Toxaway and moved here permanently in 2001. I have bought another home here and would like to rent this property. The weather is superb year around.

Weather is superb for me the year around. I love the the trails, the water falls, the people and the peace and quiet. I also love the mountain music and crafts which abound here.
