Unfortunately, after planning a weekend getaway for a group of girls, I was put on bed rest and was unable to make it. What I can say, though, is that in speaking to the girls during and after the weekend, they absolutely loved it! They had only wonderful things to say about the house--the location, the cleanliness, the hot tub--they were pleased with everything! On my end, as the one who handled the payment, I was returned my security deposit in full on Monday (the girls were there until Sunday), so I have no complaints on that! Once my babies are born and I'm able to travel again, I'm really hoping to rent this place for a family vacation in the future!

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

My biggest issue with this property is that we rented with them in July and now it is October, and we still have not received our security deposit back. We have sent the owner two emails on the matter and still have not heard from him, or received our money back. We haven't even gotten an acknowledgement that he is working on getting it back to us which would be nice. So unless you want to wait several months for your money back, I would suggest you find another place. The house was adequate, however expect to do some heavy cleaning at the end of your trip, make sure you read the contract and are ready to spend a day doing all of the linens along with basically cleaning the entire house. We opted to pay for a cleaning agency to come in as we didn't want to waste a day of our vacation cleaning.

Owner response:1) The refunds are typically processed within 7 days after the renter checks out. The refund here was processed 6 days longer than our contract calls for. They did not even contact us about not getting their refund until October but their refund was already processed in early September. 2) The renters also forgot they charged the rental deposit onto their credit card so they disputed the charges with their credit card company causing many extra fees to us even though the charges were valid. We did not pass on the extra charges we incurred or the several hours of time involved to them. 3) It is very standard in our area to have a cleaning fee and ours is very reasonable.

pleasant walk to downtown-excellent location. Very clean ad maintained with providing great service to the customer. a definite recommendation!!!!!!

We were very surprised at how clean the property was and the great location. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. It was nice to not have to drive downtown and fight for parking. We had our own parking right at the house. The hot tub was a great bonus after a long day at the beach and overlooking the wonderful gardens. Thanks for renting to us! We will be back next year.

This cottage was located literally 2 minutes walk from downtown. It has been recently updated and was a comfortable place to stay. There were some great artist shops as well as restaurants, we also were able to pick cherries and raspberries though it was a short drive to get to those places. John and Paul were both very accommodating and made special last minute arrangements for us.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
