Location: Dollar Point, Lake Tahoe North Shore CA, Lake Tahoe California, California, USA (Dollar Point)
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8)
Keywords: House
This vacation home is located in the beautiful Dollar Point neighborhood, approximately 5 minutes north of Tahoe City. The house has a partial view of Lake Tahoe, which is right down the road. World-class ski resorts Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are a 15 minute drive.
The furniture throughout the house is country pine. The cozy downstairs living room, which is dominated by a river-rock gas firestove with raised hearth, is surrounded by two sofas and a coffee table.
With its southern exposure, the large deck across the front and west side of the house lets you relax and take in the sun from the morning and well into the late afternoon. The fully-equipped kitchen has an oven, blender, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and toaster oven. The dining room table comfortably seats eight and there are two bar stools set at the kitchen counter.
Two of the bedrooms are downstairs—one queen and one bunk bed (perfect for children but large enough for adults too). Upstairs are the master bedroom with a cal king tempur pedic bed and another queen bedroom. Both upstairs bedrooms connect to a bathroom. The master bedroom has a spacious walk-in closet and a private deck with partial lake views.
Also upstairs is the "great room" with a vaulted ceiling. In it you'll find a large L-shaped sofa facing a tv and a classic wood-burning stove. The tall windows in the upstairs family rooms provide peeks of the lake and mountains beyond. The house has wall-to-wall carpeting throughout and has good sound insulation.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1999
We were both raised in the Bay Area and have fond memories of trips to Tahoe as kids. We wanted to share our love of Tahoe with our own children too so we decided to purchase our house in Dollar Point in 1999. Our happiest memories as a family over the past several years are our trips to our "Tahoe House." The fresh smell of the pine trees, the beauty of the lake, and the infinite number of fun activities keep us coming back.
Why the Owner Chose Dollar Point
Dollar Point has a gorgeous beach for the homeowners and guests with views of the mountains across the lake. The Dollar Point pool is beautifully maintained and is surrounded by lawns and pine trees. Both the beach and the pool can be reserved for evening barbeques. Our house is a 5 minutes walk from the pool, and a 15 minute walk from the beach. Dollar Point has plenty of street parking and is a very quiet neighborhood. It is easily accessible and is only a couple of miles from downtown Tahoe City with its restaurants, movie theater, and stores. Squaw, Alpine, and Homewood are all close by, and the driveway and Dollar Point neighborhood are snow ploughed and easily accessible during the winter months.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our front deck is the place to hang out in the evening. Guests can bbq and relax in the comfortable lounge chairs. If it's chilly outside we turn on the gas fireplace and it heats up the entire house.

Beautiful house in a fabulous location! The house was spacious, clean and very well maintained. It's modern, yet has a cozy, cabin-feel. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the utensils and gadgets needed. Plenty of room to accommodate two families comfortably. Wonderful large deck that wraps around the front of the house - perfect to soak up the sun, enjoy a book, take in the amazing view and have a bbq! The owners were very helpful in answering some specific questions that we had. A short walk down the hill to the beautiful Dollar Point private beach and a short walk to the swimming pool. A short car ride or bike ride to Tahoe City, Kings Beach (fun miniature golf there), Alpine Meadows, Truckee River (great rafting!) and Squaw Valley. The photos and description were accurate (even better in person!) and we were more than satisfied with our wonderful stay there. We will definitely return and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to others!

My family has been renting this house for several years now. It is a great family house for young kids: great flow from kitchen/living room/deck (with locking gate) allows for adults to supervise little ones while cooking/BBQ etc, the private beach is beautiful and easy to get to, the pool offers swimming lessons with great instructors, the house is spacious and has an upstairs family room so kids can also play up there or watch movies. In the time I've been coming they have completely renovated the kitchen and both bathrooms. It is a great, spacious spot close to Tahoe City.

Great Rental Home in Dollar Point

My family has stayed at this property 7-8 times over the last 5+ years and we plan on staying here many more times in the future! The house comfortably accommodates 2 families of 4 or 5, and the location is ideal for young families, with the bike-friendly streets and easy access to the community pool with lifeguards on duty, as well as the private beach and pier access. What we appreciate about this property is that the owners treat it as a home, and not just a rental property, as evidenced by the continuous upgrades they have made over the years. In particular, the kitchen and both bathrooms were completely remodeled in the last couple of years, and the furnishings are constantly being upgraded as well. The owners are nice people too!
