Imagine yourself kicked back in a comfy arm chair with your favorite beach book, feet propped up on the ottoman, your favorite CD playing in the background….you glance up and your eyes travel easily across the room, out the sliding glass doors, over the deck to the dunes and ocean beyond. Fantasy? Nope! It’s you on vacation in Cedar Reef Villa D-103 on beautiful, natural, Harbor Island.
This condominium villa is fully equipped with all the comforts of home, including cable television in both the living area and the bedroom. Plenty of sheets and towels are provided, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. A large side-by-side fridge provides ample room for your groceries and a full sized washing machine and dryer make it a breeze to wash out sandy bathing suits and dry damp beach towels. For your convenience, the villa provides a starter supply (1-2 nights) of paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher detergent, hand and bath soap, and toilet tissue.
As our guest, you will have access to three condominium complex pools as well as to the Beach and Racquet Club (BRC). The facilities at the BRC include a kiddie pool, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, fitness center with both a weight room and a cardio room (treadmills and exercise bicycles) and a beautiful Olympic sized pool overlooking the marshes of the Harbor River.
Harbor Island is a small, gated sea island 14 miles east of the charming historic town of Beaufort, SC. Walk the beach, try your hand at crabbing or shrimping, do some bird watching, take bike ride on the beach, watch the sunset from the BRC…. our island is quiet and natural, with nothing commercial within our gates except for the little sundries store at the Beach Club. Just outside of our gate, Barefoot Bubba’s offers both bike and kayak rentals, and horseback riding is available nearby. Our neighbor across Johnson’s Creek is Hunting Island State Park, where you can climb the old lighthouse and see for miles, bike or hike the trails through the maritime forest, or do a little more beachcombing.
Ideally located for day trips, we are about an hour away from Savannah, GA, about two hours from Charleston, and one hour from Hilton Head, SC. A short half-hour drive away, the town of Beaufort boasts antebellum architecture, horse & buggy rides through the historic district, a large waterfront park on the Intracoastal Waterway, boutique shopping and numerous restaurants. For a real treat, take in a movie: one of the last remaining drive-in movie theaters in the country only about 45 minutes from Harbor Island! Three casual restaurants are within a half mile of the Harbor Island gate, with many more options between Harbor and downtown Beaufort. The greater Beaufort area offers a number of golf courses open to the public, and you will see water water everywhere with kayaking, fishing, and boating opportunities galore.
If you are looking for hustle-bustle, wild parties and outlet shopping you will HATE Harbor Island. If a peaceful retreat in great location is what you have in mind, this may be the ideal spot for you!!
