Modern, sunny cottage located on extensive private property with forest trails and a mile of protected shore frontage facing the sunset view of Robinhood Cove.

A naturalist’s delight, this property offers the perfect access point for birding, hiking, biking, kayaking and boating or just sitting back and savoring the serenity of nature from the wrap-around deck, screen house, or private swim float.

Eagles, osprey, loon and other shore birds fly above mussel beds, splashing sturgeon and sea bass with an occasional inquisitive seal coming to visit or follow a local lobster boat.

The property has an amazingly diversity of tree and plant species along the deer and moose (and owner enhanced) trails: 250 year old hemlocks, groves of birch, colorful mushrooms, lush ferns, moss, lichen, and even a rare stand of black gum trees.

Wild blueberries are plentiful in season. Kayaking is superb within the cove and the nearby surrounding islands. For the boating enthusiast, a deep-water mooring is available during your stay.

The cottage is two-level with huge, balconied loft space for sleeping or card games. It has a modern, fully-equipped kitchen, a large Jacuzzi-style bath, two wood stoves, and ample space for 4 adults or a family.

The cottage is only a few minutes from the crashing coast and sandy beaches of Reid State Park, two lobster piers (accessible by water for lunch and dinner), several terrific local restaurants, and a gourmet farm stand.

This property is 20 minutes from Bath, 30 minutes from Brunswick, about 45 minutes to Freeport shopping outlets (LL Bean), an hour north of the vibrant Portland arts district, and a little more than an hour from the scenic and arts communities of Rockland/ Camden.

Relaxing and quiet

We spent a wonderful week in this cottage, it was just perfect for us and our dog. It was spacious, cozy and comfortable and very clean and well-maintained. We soaked away in the jacuzzi and warmed up by the fireplaces when the temperature dropped at night. The property has lots of charm and is totally quiet and remote. IYou have to drive to get to shops and restaurants, but that didn't bother us. We would definitely come back!

A Fantastic Vacation Spot

Guest: Joy (Washington DC)
Date of Stay: 07/02/11 Review Submitted: 07/24/11

My family had a fantastic vacation here, it truly offered everything we needed for adventure, rest and relaxation. The home was perfect for our family of five. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the warmth of the fire places on a few evenings. The kayaks onsight were an added bonus and became a daily ritual at sunrise and sunset . The peace and quiet was priceless. Reid State Park was our favorite day trip, as well as the great seafood nearby! The hosts were also very hospitable and helpful. We hope to return again soon!

Had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this comfortable and very private cabin. Cozy, clean and surrounded by forest and an ocean inlet. Great place to disconnect and take time to appreciate the beauty and sounds of nature. Enjoyed nearby coves and walks along Reid State Park beach. The owners are kind and caring people.

Pros: Cabin is in excellent shape, situated on a large, wooded property. Scott is a generous and extremely welcoming host. The location is quiet and undeveloped (but with a gourmet farm stand nearby). Having free use of the kayaks was a real treat! Cons: The Maine woods are buggy and this cabin is in the woods. Nearest Internet hot spot is at the Georgetown Historical Society, 3 miles away (Scott has a dial-up connection). Would stay there again!
