Come Explore beyond the Shores and Peaks of La Ceiba, Honduras and stay in one of the two newly constructed homes on two lots in a gated private, secure community of El Rancho Lima, 5 minutes from the town of La Ceiba and situated on the shores of the Caribbean Sea boasting the best beach in La Ceiba, Playa Peru. The area is unique and has everything to offer the outdoor and vacation enthusiast with the second largest Reef system in the world, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia is still the largest.
The Rainforest rises behind us with the beautiful Pico Bonito mountain and numerous streams, rivers and creeks offering zip lines, mountain biking, hiking, wildlife viewing of over 400 species of birds to listen and view.
The beautiful and amazing Cayos Cochinos and Bay Islands have a ferry system that can take you over for the day or to explore and spend a day or two and return to the Mainland. Sambo Creek to the east has fishing and snorkeling tours that leave everyday and also have a couple of great restaurants, dining rooms to sample true local Honduran foods and abundant seafood dishes.
There are many bus tours that can take you into the beautiful historic village of Copan Ruins, that is nestled in the mountains and the base for exploring the historically important Mayan Ruins dating back to 475 AD and earlier. The twisting cobblestone streets with Tuk Tuks to take you anywhere and the streets and stores are full of local handicrafts, and art as well as numerous hotels in the town center and every kind of dining cuisine to tantalize the taste buds.
The rich history of the area and the incredible flora, fauna as well as the new Macaw Mountain Park is just one of the examples of where you can explore. The Guatemala border is just 11 kms from Copan Ruins and worthwhile to tour or visit. The drive up into the Village from La Ceiba is rich with fields growing sugarcane, coffee, tobacco, and pineapple plantations as well as many little villages offering their local artisans and wares such as leather goods, textiles, art and pottery.
The country is mainly Spanish with some Portuguese thrown in but the majority of people everywhere speak English so it does not present a language barrier.

- This property is Two (2) homes, a 3 Bedroom main house and a separate 1 Bedroom Guest house with an outdoor covered living area called a Pavilion. The outside area has a outside shower, laundry room/pump room, washroom and a 35' pool. The houses are on 2 Landscaped lots with Tile surrounding both homes. There is a Driver available for hire of your rental vehicle if you would prefer you could hire the driver with his vehicle on a per day basis and the cost is close to what a rental vehicle would cost. There is a Caretaker that comes by to check and clean the pool three times per week, cut lawn and trim shrubs, bushes, trees. There is a cleaner/maid that will come in 6 days a week from 11am-4pm, she does not cook or grocery shop but changes linens, makes beds, does the floors, does the dishes, cleans and sweeps the outdoor area. Please inquire if there is something that you request to be done.

- Pet Friendly : Generally people do not travel to the Caribbean with pets but if you do you may have your four legged family member reside with you, I do ask though that you "Poop Scoop"
- Kid Friendly : Happy to have families stay but strongly advise that the necessary supervision be made in regard to the 35' pool
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : You must be over 21 years of age

We live on Columbia lake on the West slope of the Canadian Rockies near the beautiful Resort of Fairmont Hot Springs, B.C., whether it's in Canada or Honduras we live with water and mountains year round!
Why the Owner Chose La Ceiba
From the first time we visited Honduras and the area of La Ceiba we began looking for property to build a semi-retirement/vacation home on. We found the new development of El Rancho Lima a secure and gated community that is just 5 minutes from the main center of town. The abundance of fresh vegetables, fruit, seafood, coffee and numerous activities of the mountains and the sea cinched the deal. The wonderful mediate climate with flora, fauna and over 400 species of birds in the area adds to the beauty. The people are friendly, helpful and if you do not speak Spanish there is not a problem, with most of the country speaking English.

Being situated below Pico Bonito Mountains, Rain Forest and close proximity to the Caribbean Sea we get wonderful sea breezes off the water, sounds of numerous birds surround you, and you are enclosed in a beautiful landscaped yard with 35' of pool that is total Bliss. The close proximity of every activity possible is within minutes making it possible to explore beyond the shore!
