The Molokai studio (named after our neighbor island of Molokai which can sometimes be seen from our properties) is a direct ocean side, AIR-CONDITIONED vacation rental suite on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii and offers ocean views from inside the suite & on your private tiled lanai. The Molokai is just 80 feet from the beach where you’ll enjoy impressive views from one end of Hauula bay to the other with the beautiful Koolau Mountains beyond.
This is an affordable hotel-room size studio (300+ sf) with private bath and large tiled lanai overlooking our courtyard & ocean beyond. The Molokai features a complete and modern kitchen with new granite countertops, a stove/range, microwave, fridge, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. The dining area, located on your private tiled lanai, has a table/seating for four.
The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical & plantation style furniture and enjoys ocean views. The suite has a queen size bed with pillow top mattress, TV armoire, and dining area for two. The recently remodeled bath features a large shower & pedestal sink. The suite has a ceiling fan although it is rarely needed as this suite enjoys cool tropical breezes year around.
The Molokai is located in Hale Koolau, a family owned & operated group of ocean & beach front vacation rental homes in Honolulu, Hawaii located in the fishing town of Hauula on Oahu's North Shore near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are located approximately 45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport on the North East coast of Oahu; where the Ko’olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean.

- Beachfront: There are two homes located on the same oceanfront property, this unit is located in one home which sits further back from the ocean, however the property is beachfront. The beach in front of the home is usually sandy, however sometimes adverse weather conditions have displaced the sand for several weeks at a time.

Why the Owner Chose Hauula
Our family has owned and operated this business for two generations now. Originally our goal was to provide accommodations for people visiting family at BYU-Hawaii who wanted a more family-friendly atmosphere. We then realized the need for quality oceanfront vacation rentals at an affordable rate...this is our mission today, to provide quality, yet affordable, oceanfront vacation rentals on the North Shore of Oahu.
The Unique Benefits at this Ocean-side Home/Duplex
Guests who stay with us get more than just a place to sleep at night, they get their own beach house on the North Shore of Oahu. We have 450 linear feet of oceanfront property giving our guests plenty of room to lounge in the sun while being cooled down by the gentle breezes of the South Pacific Ocean. We also have four hot tubs on the property plus kayaks, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and complimentary high-speed internet. Each of our units come with full kitchens and 11 of them have air-conditioning. We are located four minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University Hawaii. We are also located 20 minutes north of Kualoa Ranch and 15 minutes from Sunset Beach and the famous North Shore surfing beaches.
Within walking distance to Hale Ko’olau with a large grocery store and several restaurants, including the very popular Papa Ole’s Kitchen.
Part of the state of Hawaii Parks & Recreations hiking system these trails are perfect for beginners and are considered “moderate”. The two loop trails offer excellent views of the beautiful coastlin
This is one of our favorite beach parks on O’ahu. Enjoy excellent sandy bottom swimming on this stunning and uncrowded beach.
Public Beach Park with pavilion and showers. Enjoy sandy bottom swimming beach protected by a barrier reef. Great place for small children to play and just a short walk from Hale Ko’olau.

We have operated as Hale Koolau LLC for nearly a decade, however prior to this change of entity we operated the business as sole proprietors, accommodating thousands of guests over the years. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii with an A+ rating, member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, and have an "excellent" rating on TripAdvisor.
