Native Canadians desiring a touch of the real Hawaii.

Why the Owner Chose Kalapana

We chose this beautiful location in Hawaii for it's true authenticity and peaceful lush setting. When you wake up here, you feel that you have been transported to the Hawaii of days gone by. There is a great variety of activities from diving, swimming, snorkeling, sightseeing, shopping. It's being in the country with the convenience of close shopping. This is truly and land of Pele as you can see the lava flow into the ocean from the deck.

The Unique Benefits of this House

While staying in Kalapana, the country atmosphere is augmented by the close local cafe and Kava bar. We can see the ocean on all sides and the volcano flowing into the ocean. Drive just a little while and you can go to the most beautiful tidal pools and hot ponds. Up the hill to Volcano National Park, or to the other side of the island to more beaches and scenic wonders. Sit on the beach sun tanning while looking at the snow at the Mauna Loa observatory.

    • My son and I stayed here for just over a week at the end of Sept, into Oct and LOVED it. Beautiful new house. No a/c did not bother me. They have a fan. Rain every morning with a rainbow during breakfast. View of the flowing lava from the house. Short walk to old lava flows and lava entering the ocean at night. Close to the Volcano Park. Quiet. Fabulous full moon and waterfall photos. I'd stay here again.

    • We stayed at your beautiful home for two short nights in July, wished we stayed one more night. My kids were apprehensive about not having AC but you don't really need it.We had so much fun-watch lava flow at night, star gazing, driving to the black sand beach, driving down 137(with fantastic ocean view),driving down Pahoa/Kapoho road-one lane only towards the end, watch surfers - all free! $10 to the volcano natl park.Must stop and buy cheap/good Filipino or Samoan foods at the internt'l market at the intersection of 137 & H11(to volcano park)Be carefuk in some areas if you dont have 4wd.Your house transported me back to my lazy summer days in my grandma's comfortable house.Your house was so inviting and we found everthing we needed. If our friends ever visit the big island, we would surely recommend your home.
