Lynn-Cat Vacation Rental House is located 4 miles (10 min) from both Mal-Pais and Montezuma beach. Private house with a beautiful garden and trees, peeking at the beach of the small fishermen village, Cabuya. In the village is the entrance to the Nature Reserve Cabo Blanco, the first nature reserve in Costa Rica. Our vacation house is private, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room with open kitchen, fully equipped, BBQ, hot water, wifi, safe house, books and a hammock. It is only 600m away from the waves... pure mineral drinking water comes strait from the Cabo Blanco nature reserve mountains to the house, nature is all around and friendly old school fishermen of our village. restaurants and a bar also located within 2 min walking and other pubs, bars, restaurants, surfing points, movies and dancing parties within 10 min drive. enjoy it all

Cabuya village: On the ocean side, just between Mal-Pais, Santa Teresa and Montezuma, lies village of Cabuya. A wide unspoiled 3km beach reaches up to the first reserve in Costa Rica, Cabo Blanco. The water we drink in Cabuya comes from the reserve and its the tastiest water you will ever drink.

Because the beach in Cabuya is a bit rocky, most of the time you will find the beach very private. You might see the fishermen go out to fish or someone walking in the send and looking for sea glass, shells and colorful stones. Almost everything is in a walking distance. Within 2 minutes walk you will find a bakery, a sushi bar, a lovely Internet cafe, two small local groceries where you will find anything you need from fishing gear to lovely organic fruits and vegetables at very low rates. Several local fishermen sell fresh fish.
there are two surf point near by, one for beginners and one for more advanced surfers.
Entering Cabuya is the beautiful river 'Rio Lajas' with water falls and swimming pools

Around Cabuya: Just 1km off the beach line of Cabuya, the island of Cabuya where you can snorkel and fish in one of the most beautiful spots around. The funny thing is that at low tide you can walk to the island on dry land as the sea folds back and expose the trail to the island.
At the end of the village of Cabuya starts the Natural Reserve Cabo Blanco. a real wildlife corner, bird watching, monkeys and primary forest surrounds you. Beautiful ocean views and sandy beaches you will find as you hike through the reserve.
You can also take a horseback riding or rent an ATV to go to the other end of the reserve, Mal-Pais, for more scenic and breath taking white sandy beaches. Mal-Pais and Santa-Teresa are among the world most famous surf beaches, and many surfers come here regularly to surf.
The night life in Cabuya is quiet and relaxed, but just in a 10 minutes drive you will discover a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, bars and full moon beach parties in Montezuma, Mal-Pais and Santa-Teresa.

We loved our stay at the Labadee house. It had lots of character and was great for families. We especially loved the back yard with lots of room to run around for the kids. Cabuya was a nice quiet place to stay while still being close enough to everything. There are a couple of really tasty cafes nearby as well as a little grocery store. Try some decadent chocolate cake from the bakery. Noa and Jacob were really amazing hosts they made us feel as if we were a part of the community. They give great recommendations and help out if needed. They definitely helped make our short stay very enjoyable.

We stayed at the Labadee House from Dec 25, 2010 until Jan 5, 2011 and we had a great time! The house was very cozy and clean and we haven't had any major problems during our stay. The owners - Noa and Jacob were quite accommodating and helpful with answering our questions about the Cabuya area. We came to Cabuya to relax and unwind from our busy lives and found what we were looking for. We couldn't wish for better weather! Most of the time we just spent exploring different beaches from Montezuma to Santa Teresa and our favourite one for swimming was Playa Las Manchas 15 min south of Montezuma, which is a bit far from Cabuya if you are not driving. We couldn't really find a good beach for swimming within a reasonable walking distance from Labadee house. So one thing to keep in mind if you're coming to Cabuya is that you will need to rent a car or a quad to get around. A quad is a little cheaper, but it is also a lot noisier and you will all be covered in dust just after a few minutes riding that thing. Same really goes for walking, since all the roads in that area are not paved and the traffic can be quite heavy. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are bugs and that they do get into the house, but that's not really a problem specific to this particular property. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our experience! We would recommend this house and the Cabuya area, but you do have to be somewhat adventurous to enjoy yourself. Denis & Natalya

Noa & Jacob, It was great to take a break from a busy life in Boston and to such a warm and relaxing week in Cabuya (Newville House). We loved the house from the wonderful pool (& waterfall) to the beautiful fruit trees and hammock. Things we've enjoyed doing in Cabuya: buying fish from local fishermen & steaming it with the banana leaves in the back making guacamole! reading all the books in the house by the pool. chasing a bird out of our house (that accidentally flew in) being more mindfull of the front door (see above point!) buying the "tres leches" dessert from the Panederia wonderful walk through Cabo Blanco. trying "gallo pinto" at all the local spots - our favorite = Defin de la Luna. making mixed drinks from some local juices & "cuatro plumas" overall beautiful house friendly local people Thanks again for the wonderful stay!

We absolutely adored this place. Noa & Jacob have created a beautiful home in paradise to share with those who want to enjoy it. The reason I choose vacation rentals over hotels is because I think it creates a more authentic experience. We definitely found that here. I loved our daily walks through the village and being greeted by the local people living their everyday lives, fascinating to be a brief part of. The mornings were wonderful, we ran on the beach (some mornings even early enough to watch the beautiful sunrise) and then returned to the house for coffee and breakfast in the back garden while listening to the birds & monkeys in the nearby trees. Unfortunately we had a bit of trouble with our rental car one morning, but thankfully we called Noa & Jacob and they were able to help us get it sorted out pretty quickly without too much trouble. Thank you again for all your help and your kind hospitality. We look forward to returning again one day.

This is a perfect spot for relaxing, enjoying nature or exploring this wonderful part of Costa Rica. We had such a great time. It is a quiet, calm, beautiful place. The location is perfect whether you want to take day trips to explore the peninsula or just stay put and enjoy the house and everything the village has to offer. The house was nice, clean and comfortable. The garden is where we spent most of our time, hanging out on the patio or the hammock. There was plenty to keep us busy for the week. We really enjoyed the kayaking and snorkelling around Isla de Cabuya, and surfing at Playa Grande in Montezuma. This is a wonderful way to spend time away from the everyday hustle & bustle of life, get your mind right, recharge your batteries & get rid of any stress you may have. The only drawback is that you won't want to leave.

The Labadee house was fantastic! Super funky, awesome floors, great bathrooms, etc....We spent our days on the Cabuya, Montezuma, Cabo Blanco & Mal Pais beaches. It is a great location to be close to all of these great beaches! Evenings spent with Pinto Gallo in the kitchen and dominos on the back patio. Thanks to Noa & Jacob for the hospitality! Mucho Gusto! Evan & Carrie

Thank you so much for the wonderful time we spent staying at Labadee House. We really loved the beautiful details of the house and we felt so comfortable here. The days in Cabuya were so relaxing and peaceful, we liked your ideas and spent time at the Rio Lajas. We walked there along the beach in the morning, then spent several hours at the swimming holes. Mattis loved every second of that. We didn't have our own transportation, so we used the local bus, which was fun too, and also walked a lot. Perfect to have Cabo Blanco so close. Would have enjoyed to stay even longer, but maybe we will be able to visit this place again! Thanks for your help, the nice emails and the warm welcome in Cabuya! We wish you a great time & we would be very happy to meet again. Steph, Heiko & Mattis

Your home is wonderful and provided us with the rest, renewal and relaxation we were looking for. The forest covered mountains of Cabo Blanco National Park on one side and the ocean on the other. One week was not long enough to enjoy the natural beauty & friendly people of Cabuya. The house was fantastic. It is so peaceful, clean and private. Much more private than any hotel could be. We couldn't have planned for a more relaxing week. This is definitely a no-stress zone. As soon as you step outside, you can only take in a deep breath and feel the tranquillity. It is a secluded location, perfect for those who want a relaxing holiday, near enough to amenities, but far enough to have solitude if desired. There are beautiful beaches, a few nice restaurants, a couple of small supermarkets, and it is truly unspoiled. It takes a little bit of effort to get there, with the bumpy roads, but it is certainly worth it. I would highly recommend this home & this area.
