Our rustic family cabin is a wonderful, private retreat where you can enjoy the splendor of Sundance on a reasonable budget.
Just 7 minutes walk from Sundance Resort, we’ve got the most secluded setting on Mt. Timpanogos. Nestled at the end of a private lane, you can leave your world behind and enjoy a real mountain cabin experience.
Our cabin is not magnificent, but it’s clean, cozy and functional. It has a full kitchen with a table that comfortably seats six, and a nice 3/4 bath. The living room has beautiful views of the stream which runs right through our property, and a nice fireplace to warm you up on a chilly evening. The main floor bedroom has a queen size bed and a closet. The loft features another private sleeping room with double bed, plus three more beds in the open loft.
Our large deck overlooks the stream and has a huge pine tree growing straight up through it! It is equipped with a charcoal grille and a picnic table. The natural mountain yard stretches along the stream for over 200 feet. If you’re coming during warm weather, you may enjoy an evening sitting on logs around the bonfire ring. The bonfire area is equipped with a second picnic table.
We have Wi-Fi DSL service, so bring along your laptop computer if you need to work while you’re here. You’ll need to bring a cell phone for any long distance calls.
If you’re coming in the winter time, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is an absolute necessity. Parking in the winter is limited to two cars, but you can squeeze in four when the snow is gone.
We have a nice propane furnace, so you’ll be cozy and warm even on the coldest, snowiest days. During the summer the temperatures are just perfect.
Five families own and share this cabin. Therefore, it is very important that you respect the personal property of the owners. Plan on living out of your suitcases, since the dressers and storage closets are in use by the owners.
Smoking, drugs, and alcohol use are expressly forbidden at our cabin. We hope that you will respect our wishes in this regard, and insist that all of your guests do the same.

$250 for 2 night minimum stay. $75/additional night. $600/week.
$250 security deposit required with booking, refundable after
cleaning and inspection.

Clark & Janet Shurtz live in Sandy, UT. Tyler & Colleen Shurtz live in Orem, UT, just 15 miles from Sundance. Together we are offering selected weeks of our timeshare cabin to responsible guests who will enjoy the facility while safeguarding the personal property of our cabin owners.
Why the Owner Chose Sundance
We've always dreamed of a place at Sundance. When our neighbors, who had helped build this cabin, could no longer use it; we jumped at the chance to buy their share. Since then it has become our favorite place to host extended family picnics and dinners with close friends. Best of all, it's a wonderfully private place for a getaway-for-two!
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
We love to walk along the stream and hike around the mountain above our cabin. We can go for just a few minutes up the stream, or walk for hours on the trails that cover Mt. Timpanogos. Our favorite hike takes us up the mountain, through the Sundance equestrian area, and around the corner to Stewart Falls. We enjoy the wildlife all year long. Squirrels are everywhere, as are wild turkeys. We often have deer and even moose, wandering right through our front yard! In the winter time, we break out the snowshoes so that we can still enjoy the seclusion of the forest as we get some exercise.
