Open your eyes in the morning to a view across long island sound without leaving bed! You will enjoy a water view from every room in this architect designed cottage and converted boathouse. The nautical themed buildings are perched above blue waters, surrounded by gardens, lawns, and great smooth granite rocks, and are a few steps from a sandy beach and dock. Interior and exterior spaces are merged in this unique cottage: buildings are linked by a covered deck; a 28' folding glass wall opens the cottage living room completely to screened porch; 8' barn-style boathouse doors open to sunny deck that steps down to lawn, leading to the water. Seals, egrets and other wildlife can be seen sunning themselves on surrounding rocks.

Year Purchased: 1995
On our 4.5 acres Thimble Island estate, we are renting both this newly renovated cottage and the 1846 Pot Island Hotel that was converted to an 11 bedroom summer house in 1999. I live in Norwalk, Ct. 06850.
Why the Owner Chose Branford
My parents bought an island in the Thimble Islands early 60's and I bought mine 30 years later. I have spent every summer there since.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
It is a mesmerizing place and very close to nature and beautiful. The views are incredible of water and the beach is fun for swimming and the very large beautifully manicured meadow is so peaceful. Getting close to nature and relaxing is very easy here.
