My husband and I spent two nights at Sandy Point in late December to celebrate our anniversary. The property is well furnished and cozy, just right for the two of us. Morning coffee with the sunrise over the bay through the big windows across the front was the highlight. If the weather had been warmer and less windy the deck and firepit would have been great. Just as we were leaving the clouds broke and gave us the promised view of Mount Baker. I would recommend this property as a relaxing place to spend a few days. If you go, be sure to pick up some fresh seafood at Barlean's on Slater Road and some wonderful cheese at Pleasant Valley Dairy on Kickerville Road.

There were four of us guys sharing the cottage at Sandy Point. We had a great time. The weather could have been better but the stay at the cottage was great. We found the cabin well stocked to meet our needs and centrally located to the things that we wanted to do. The couple of days that were nice we had amazing views of Mount Baker and beautiful sunrises. We were amazed with the variation in the tides. I think we would all welcome the chance to go for another stay. If you are there in November I would certainly recommend a trip up Mount Baker. It was a real winter wonderland. We enjoyed a couple to day trips to Vancouver and a great ferry boat ride out to San Juan Island. Slow mornings with our coffee and the amazing views certainly got our day off to a great start. We enjoyed the visits from the friendly neighborhood cat. In the evening winding down with some good wine and playing cards, It doesn't get much better.

My family of four stayed for a pleasent week in mid September. The day we arrived Mt. Baker was visable across the shallow water in front of the house. We slept later then our usual lives allowed in the peaceful setting. Along the 20 minute drive into downtown Bellingham we located local food possibilities. We entertained another family of 4 with fresh salmon purchased at the 4 way stop. Blackberries were picked from the beach side cliffs. The local bison meat ranchette was closed but we did aquire freshly made cheese from the Fairhaven farmers market. The local vegetable stand at the gas station was not open for the right hours but could have provided more options. The house had sufficent dishes, pans, grill, chairs etc to support us. The washer/drier were handy if slow.We had a good week with little rain. The geese and herons were the neighbors. We would return. Thank you!

My husband and I loved every minute of our stay in this quaint, peaceful cottage. The sun rises, Mt. Baker, gulls and herons, and amenities close by made for an incredible little vay-cay. The cottage was clean, private, and homey. Loved our time at this Cozy Sea-Side Cottage!

We just returned from a terrific holiday in Bellingham and environs and really enjoyed our stay at the Sandy Point cottage. It came exactly as advertised as far as I'm concerned - very clean, no problem with sheets, etc. When we arrived we found the TV was missing its "rabbit ears" (You can only get 2 maybe 3 Canadian channels because the US has already gone digital and the is no cable or dish). I spoke to the owner and his associate was there the next morning with a brand new set. (Not that we watched much TV with the beautiful views to admire). Very relaxing place. Highly recommended.
Owner response:Thank you for your review. It was our pleasure hosting your stay in our ocen-side beach-house and we are thrilled it was a memorable stay for you. It is always nice to hear from visitors who travel from great distances and really enjoy this part of the Pacific Northwest and our property. There is no better place to relax and enjoy your annual vacation, celebrate a special occasion or just get away from it all for a few days! Regards, Owners

This cabin has great views to the east of Mt. Baker and Lummi Bay. The deck has shade in the afternoon and is great for watching birds and the tides. There is a fresh fish store just 3 miles away that is amazing. The cabin itself has furniture that, for us, was uncomfortable, including the beds. The linens were old and stained (dish towels and clothes, sheets). We had to call the owner to get the garbage picked up as he does not pay for garbage/recycling service from the county. He came the first week, then not again. We were at the cabin for three weeks. He never checked back to see if we needed garbage pickup after the first week. There were no cleaning products in the cabin except a vacuum. We had to buy our own mop to clean the floors. We will not go back to this property again, nor will I recommend it to my friends.
Owner response:Thank you for your comments. I am extremely sorry to hear you had a difficult time at our lovely beach-front house. As I stated to you when you booked, at a significantly reduced rate, services were limited due to the price break. To date we have had hundreds of happy, returning customers. It is too bad that your concerns were just brough to our attention after your stay and not during your stay when they could be addressed and rectified. Thank you.

The location and the cottage were excellent. It was well equipped, tastefully decorated, and exceptionally clean. With the cool breezes off the water, I was the envy of those back home gripped in many days above a l00! In addition to the peace and quiet at the cottage, the area had more activities than we could even fit into the two months. To make the stay even greater were the occasional visits by the owner who wanted to assure everything was satisfactory. It will be hard to beat this experience and we plan to return in the future.

My wife and daughter and I stayed here for a four day weekend in April. The cabin was very nice and had EVERYTHING we needed. There was even wood for the firepit already stocked. Clean bedsheets and towals, dishes, cookware, even a washer and dryer. We had a fantastic time, and the views were great. Definitely a place I'd recommend.

We were so happy to find a great place to truly relax. We spent several days in September watching the tide, reading and sitting by a camp fire. The cabin is very nicely appointed and was exactly what we were looking for.
