Nauset Haven on Minister's Pond is a charming, waterfront, vacation spot for the whole family. Nine cottages and a large home nestled among the pines hug the shoreline of a 21-acre, freshwater pond. Fishing, boating, and swimming on our private, sandy beach are just a few steps from your door. Rowboats, game room, and playground facilities are among the many amenities offered free of charge.
Located in historic Eastham on Cape Cod, our cottage is ideally located. Eastham is the gateway to the Cape's most pristine ocean beaches. Many ocean, bay, and freshwater pond beaches are all just minutes away. The Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor's Center, offering many opportunities to study Cape Cod life through nature walks and ranger guided programs, is just a short walk. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is only one-fourth mile away for biking, walking, rollerblading, or bird watching. Many other scenic trails including the Massachusetts Audubon Conservation Area and Fort Hill are close by.
There are plenty of fine restaurants and shops too. Only 20 minutes to Provincetown.
Cottage Three is comfortably furnished in a beautiful, rustic setting. Enjoy a relaxing view of Minister's Pond from the living area or the deck. Double-size bed and two bunk beds. Living room futon could sleep two more. Please provide your own sheets and towels. No pets allowed.

Great place but bumpy experience

We had rented several times at the Nauset Haven and knew that the place was great. We rented this particular cottage for the first time this year. Although tiny, it had all we needed. It had an AC, which we did not need to use at the beginning of Jul but that could be quite nice for the hotter months. It did not have, however, a mosquito net on the back terrace so we could not really use it much – during the day it was very hot and sunny and in the evening, too many mosquitoes. The outside grill and tables were excellent but again, cannot be used after 5 pm due to the mosquitoes. We had a little bump with the TV cable which did not work at all when we arrived and took a few emails/calls to get it fixed by end of day two. We also had an issue with the sewage in the bathroom. After a few showers on the first day, the shower drain over floated and started spitting sand. The property manager came the same day but could not fix it permanently so we had to either deal with a plumber, who did not pick up his phone twice or unclog manually for the rest of our stay, which we did. Despite that we had a great time until after we left and got a note that 50% of our security deposit would be withheld because, quoting, there were ketchup spots on the table placement mats (cannot remember seeing them or using ketchup), blankets were not folded, the toaster was found on the counter (as opposed to in a cabinet, I guess), there were pinecones on the grill, two windows with nets were left open (true, to prevent the stale smell we found on the day of arrival; the cleaning crew waiting outside ) and folio was covering two burners (true, we put it there to keep the stove clean and forgot to remove it on the way out, <1min job). The list was provided to us after our money was taken, along with pictures titled “mess1”, “mess2”, “mess3” and the explanation that it would cost much more to clean despite the fact that we had vacuumed and did some other cleaning too. Yes, this left a very bitter feeling, and was a very first in a long history of renting summer and winter houses in 6 states. Just the unfriendliness of this whole situation, after we dealt with some inconveniences while there, bugs me to this day.
Owner response:In 12 years of hosting visitors to my cottage on Cape Cod, I have never retained any portion of a security deposit until now. Unfortunately, the renter is misrepresenting the condition that the cottage was left in and I was simply passing on the additional cleaning charges needed to make the cottage habitable for my next guests, arriving that day. In addition to spending a great deal of time at the cottage myself, I have had many return renters, for many years, and regret that this was a negative experience for all

My husband, son and I used the cozy cottage as a base to get to various ocean beaches (some by biking on the rail trail) and the bay beaches. Then there is the pond ... Our place was clean, comfortable and convenient. The open deck give a beautiful view of the pond. Enjoy!
