Description of the apartment -
· Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with a glass-enclosed balcony on the 5th floor of an 100-year-old Art Nouveau building, renovated outside and inside. The floors are still the original colorful mosaic, and the ceilings are 9 feet high. There is an elevator, air conditioning, central heating, and a full kitchen with granite countertop, pots & pans, dishes, etc. One full bathroom with toilet, sink, and half-tub with shower. The living room has a dining table and chairs, a sofa bed, a 21-inch TV, DVDs, etc. You can see the tips of La Sagrada Familia from the enclosed balcony.
The apartment fits one to five although an occupancy of four would be the ideal for the size.

Description of location -
· The apartment is located in the beautiful Eixample, halfway between Gaudi's La Pedrera (also known as Casa Milà) on the Passeig de Gracia, and Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, just a ten-minute walk from either one. Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló are at the same short distance as well. The Eixample district has the most beautiful Art Nouveau architecture in the city dating from the last half of the XIX century.
There are many cafes, restaurants, tapas bars, and shops in the neighborhood also. The 115-year-old Market of La Concepció, where you can do your grocery shopping in a traditional setting, is just 200 meters from the apartment. This market has fresh meat, fruits & vegetables, cheeses, etc. as well as a florist and a grocery store with a good selection of local wines.
The Eixample is recommended as a convenient location to see all the different sights around the city, but not as crowded as the Old City. You can get a taste of real local life.

Transportation -
· There is a bus stop on the corner right by the apartment that will take you to almost all the places of interest in the city, if you don't feel like walking. The city buses are nice and modern, and run often. The apartment is also less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station of Verdaguer, on both the yellow and blue lines. The upscale shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, is just 1 stop away, though you can easily walk there from the apartment. Plaza Catalunya (the very center of the city and also walkable) and the start of Las Ramblas is just a 6 minute metro ride away, and the beaches are just a 10 minute ride. There is also a parking garage close to the apartment, although renting a car in Barcelona is not recommended.

  • We stayed in this apartment in June 2008 with our 3 kids. It is a great location and has all of the comforts of home. The manager of the unit is very helpful and friendly and it was great to have internet access to keep in touch with our family at home. Charming Barcelona apartment!

  • We stayed here for 3 nights in May. The apartment was charming and comfortable - exactly as described. The location was perfect - close to metro and buses and within easy walking distance to La Sagrada Familia and Passeig de Gracia. Booking and subsequent communication couldn't have been easier. We were very comfortable here and look forward to coming back for a much longer stay.

    Thank you for a home away from home! Barcelona is beautiful city. We loved the apartment, the location and all the great shops nearby. We went to the market everyday just down the block. Love the Iberica ham!!! Took a different route home each day and discovered more restaurants and shops every time.

  • We spent three nights in Barcelona with two young children (under 2 years) and the apartment was a perfect place to call 'home' whilst exploring this fantastic city! Our 'greeter' Monica was wonderful and provided a brilliant service - taking the time to show us through the apartment and its many features, with the rooftop terrace (with views of La Sagrada Familia) being a real highlight. It was also no trouble for our hosts to arrange a baby cot and provide parking directions - little touches that made a big difference. Thanks for providing such a great experience. We will definitely stay again and recommend this apartment to all of our friends.

  • We just spend a week here and it was amazing. The location was perfect for seeing everything, but not in a touristy section. The metro was superclose. It is very clean and has a lot of amenities including some great DVD's. This was a great apt and I hope to go back soon.

    Hello Lauren, Well, we're our fabulous European holidays are officially over as we arrived back in Vancouver this weekend. Just wanted to tell you again how much we appreciated all the helpful information you and your husband provided us which made our stay in Barcelona such a wonderful experience! The apartments were lovely, so comfortable and ideally situated. Another huge thank you again for being able to make that last minute arrangement for us to have two separate units. That worked out really well! It was my (and my family's) very first visit to Spain and Barcelona and I am most definitely putting it in my books for a return visit. Thank you again for making my first spanish experience such a memorable one!

    Dear Lauren and Fernando - Thanks for the lovely apartment, which we stayed in twice on our journey through Spain. Barcelona is a fabulous city even in the rain! We really got to know the neighborhood and feel at home. Thanks also for adding the kitchen supplies we recommended - we cooked some great meals here... The DVD player is also a good addition. Have a great holiday season (in America, holiday season starts at Halloween and ends on New Year's Day!) Regards
