Description of the apartment -
· Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with a glass-enclosed balcony on the 5th floor of an 100-year-old Art Nouveau building, renovated outside and inside. The floors are still the original colorful mosaic, and the ceilings are 9 feet high. There is an elevator, air conditioning, central heating, and a full kitchen with granite countertop, pots & pans, dishes, etc. One full bathroom with toilet, sink, and half-tub with shower. The living room has a dining table and chairs, a sofa bed, a 21-inch TV, DVDs, etc. You can see the tips of La Sagrada Familia from the enclosed balcony.
The apartment fits one to five although an occupancy of four would be the ideal for the size.

Description of location -
· The apartment is located in the beautiful Eixample, halfway between Gaudi's La Pedrera (also known as Casa Milà) on the Passeig de Gracia, and Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, just a ten-minute walk from either one. Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló are at the same short distance as well. The Eixample district has the most beautiful Art Nouveau architecture in the city dating from the last half of the XIX century.
There are many cafes, restaurants, tapas bars, and shops in the neighborhood also. The 115-year-old Market of La Concepció, where you can do your grocery shopping in a traditional setting, is just 200 meters from the apartment. This market has fresh meat, fruits & vegetables, cheeses, etc. as well as a florist and a grocery store with a good selection of local wines.
The Eixample is recommended as a convenient location to see all the different sights around the city, but not as crowded as the Old City. You can get a taste of real local life.
Transportation -
· There is a bus stop on the corner right by the apartment that will take you to almost all the places of interest in the city, if you don't feel like walking. The city buses are nice and modern, and run often. The apartment is also less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station of Verdaguer, on both the yellow and blue lines. The upscale shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, is just 1 stop away, though you can easily walk there from the apartment. Plaza Catalunya (the very center of the city and also walkable) and the start of Las Ramblas is just a 6 minute metro ride away, and the beaches are just a 10 minute ride. There is also a parking garage close to the apartment, although renting a car in Barcelona is not recommended.

I stayed here with my three kids at the end of July for a week and we LOVED the apartment. The owners are so helpful in advance with communications and the manager who checked us in answered every question we had before we even asked it. They had available all the information we needed to get around the city easily. The apartment itself was clean and well equipped, just beautiful. We all loved it. It had a charming balcony off one of the bedrooms, and the only problem we experienced was that we had an absolute downpour one day and the rain was so intense, it leaked into the apartment through the closed balcony doors! Luckily we had plenty of towels....All part of the adventure! Just a terrific stay and I would not hesitate to recommend their apartments and would certainly stay in any of them if/when we go back to Barcelona.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children.

We stayed here for 3 nights in late December 2010. The apartment was charming and comfortable. We also thought that the location was perfect. It was very close to the metro and buses and within easy walking distance to La Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia, etc. The manager, Marcela, was gracious and helpful. Our communication for arrangements was easy. They even provided helpful hints for parking, dining out, etc. We hope to return to the magical city of Barcelona again someday and stay here again.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Staying at the Valencia A apartments was one of the highlights of our trip to Spain. The apartment exceeded our expectations and I have told my friends and family this will be the place I choose to stay anytime I come to Barcelona. The location was great, the apartment was spacious and I loved having a balcony and rooftop terrace. I want to thank you for all your help with booking and answering my questions. We stayed in this apartment in June 2008 with our 3 kids. It is a great location and has all of the comforts of home. The manager of the unit is very helpful and friendly and it was great to have internet access to keep in touch with our family at home. Charming Barcelona apartment!

We stayed here for 3 nights in May. The apartment was charming and comfortable - exactly as described. The location was perfect - close to metro and buses and within easy walking distance to La Sagrada Familia and Passeig de Gracia. Booking and subsequent communication couldn't have been easier. Thank you for a home away from home! Barcelona is beautiful city. We loved the apartment, the location and all the great shops nearby. We went to the market everyday just down the block. Love the Iberica ham!!! Took a different route home each day and discovered more restaurants and shops every time.

We spent the month of February 2008 here and had the best time ever! The apartment was perfect, Marcela, our host was wonderful and the city of Barcelona was magical. We hope to return for a longer stay in the near future, I don't see how our stay could have been better...great neighborhood, lovely people, a total winner.

We spent three nights in Barcelona with two young children (under 2 years) and the apartment was a perfect place to call 'home' whilst exploring this fantastic city! Our 'greeter' Monica was wonderful and provided a brilliant service - taking the time to show us through the apartment and its many features, with the rooftop terrace (with views of La Sagrada Familia) being a real highlight. It was also no trouble for our hosts to arrange a baby cot and provide parking directions - little touches that made a big difference. Thanks for providing such a great experience. We will definitely stay again and recommend this apartment to all of our friends.

We just spend a week here and it was amazing. The location was perfect for seeing everything, but not in a touristy section. The metro was superclose. It is very clean and has a lot of amenities including some great DVD's. This was a great apt and I hope to go back soon.
