Sweptaway is a romantic secluded hide-away by the Sea. You cannot find a more beautiful view across Quonichontaug Pond Inlet to the 2 mile private Weekapaug Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear day, you can see Block Island. We have almost two acres of privacy and natural splendor with swans, gulls, and wildlife galore. Your private pier and boat mooring are directly in front of the cottage. Dig for clams in the front yard. At night the only sounds are wildlife and the waves in the distance, with the aroma of refreshing salt air.
This Non-Smoking cottage has the magnificent water views from the porch and most of the rooms. Dining on the porch, sunroom, in the yard or dining living area. The main floor with the master bedroom (King size)and bath in addition to those mentioned above, includes a full kitchen. The two new upstairs bedrooms also have magnifect ocean views. One has a full size four poster bed and the other has two twins and a crib! There is a half bath on this level. Sorry, No Pets or smoking.
Outside there is a heated shower, to keep the sand out of the cottage. A picnic table under a shady tree, swings for children, along with beach chairs and beach toys are provided. You can fish from the pier, dig clams, or just sit in the sun or under a tree, to escape from the world. Magnificent sunsets!
The private Weekapaug Beach is the most magnificent beach on the East Coast. Frequently you can walk for miles and not see anyone! Beach passes are provided. There are lifeguards in season. Nearby, all within 30 minutes, are the Casinos, Old Mystic Seaport, Newport, Watch Hill, Newport and the theme park for beach activities. The Westerly Train Station and Airport are only 12 minutes down the road.

This beach house actually floated across the pond back during the hurricane of 38 and local rumors say it's haunted but we found our stay there anything but scary. Great set back location with very private access with access to local beaches only minutes away. No bothersome neighbors to worry about as this house was surrounded by a wide expanse of woods and water. found dealing with owner and caretaker pleasant and respectful. Look forward to staying again next year, except longer then one week.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
