As we woke up each morning, we were greeted by the sounds of shopkeepers opening their doors for the day, and women in heels clicking along the pavement. The Italian language drifted up from the street below, reminding us that we were not home, but rather in Florence with another great day ahead of us. This apartment was an excellent base from which to explore one of the finest "walking" cities in Europe. Just across the river from the main city, it provided a measure of calm without distancing us from the attractions. Near the Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens and the Ponte Vecchio, we could also walk to the Uffizi Museum or the Domo within minutes. Both sides of the river are graced by many good restaurants. We chose to eat out most nights, but a few times we stopped at the neighborhood grocery or one of the outdoor markets and brought food home to cook in the well-equipped kitchen. Since our weather wasn't perfect, we were grateful for the umbrellas, too, and a good internet connection and cell phone service let us keep in touch. The moderate temperatures during our stay meant that we didn't need the heat or air conditioning that was available, as the ceiling fan was all we needed. With the windows open, we could let the ambiance of Florence drift in with the pleasant breeze.

I spent 4 weeks at the Jacopo apartment and found it very homey and comfortable and within walking distance to everything from museums to groceries. After a long flight, it was a relief to walk in and find the apartment well stocked. You thought of everything to welcome us! The bed was very comfortable with sufficient clean comforters and sufficient light for reading, along with an excellent shower. I would definitely stay there again if the occasion arose!

This is a perfect location...within a few minutes' walk to nearly every major attraction. However, it is an urban setting: guests should be aware that street noise is significant throughout the night. The charming landlord even left us a bottle of wine! There are many shops within a block or two, should you need to stock the pantry or find a pharmacy.Hot water was abundant; the wifi was a plus. Door locks are a bit tricky, though. We would definitely recommend Italy Perfect.

The Jacopo apartment was a fantastic place to stay, and we are very appreciative that it was available for us. We would recommend the very spot to someone else looking for somewhere when visiting Florence. The location was perfect! It was very close and convenient to get to restaurants or sightseeing areas such as the Uffizi. Restaurants were very good, such as the Ristorante Galleria. Our greeter, Jacopo was very polite and informative. Everyone that we encountered in Florence were very nice to us, even though we really didn't speak any Italian. If and when we ever get back, we would love to be able to stay there again if available.

Not only is the apartment absolutely as charming as the pictures show, its location is practically perfect in every way. We walked back and forth across the Ponte Vecchio at least twice a day. And we absolutely loved The Oltrarno. We walked every evening in our neighborhood -- window shopping, people watching, gelato eating and discovering the history of this unique place. There is a book on the shelf with a walking tour of the Oltrano and we highly recommend it. Florence is magical made even better when you have a wonderful place for a bit of respite. Kudos to Italy Perfect for having such "Perfect" properties and such great tips on the website. We plan use them again in London some day soon.

My 16 year old granddaughter and I shared Jacopo and found it to be the perfect size and location for us. We loved being able to walk to all the sites and great restaurants in just minutes. The greeter was very cordial and informative. The bottle of cold water and wine was a nice welcoming touch. Unless you are a teacher or traveling with students I would never recommend visiting Europe in the summer because of the heat and crowds BUT Florence was my granddaughter's favorite of our three cities -Venice and Rome - so all in all it was a very positive experience. I would recommend the apartment to anyone. The location was so perfect. Keep up the good work!

Our 2 week March 2011 vacation was fantastic. The apartment is neat, well-kept, and outfitted nicely. The only shortcoming we could think of was not having the use of an oven (or even toaster oven). The location was a major plus; It's only a 5 minute walk to the Duomo and 15 to the train station (walking briskly). We felt safe at all hours of the night. Highly recommend this place. The "Italy Perfect" staff and services were excellent and recommended. We will be returning customers!!! General: It's very easy to get around via train; we took day trips to Pisa, Livorgno, Sienna and stayed 2 days in Rome. Just don't forget to validate your ticket by inserting into the small boxes at the end of each train track. "Gusta Pizza" is only a 5 minute walk from the apartment and had the best pizza I've ever had... Many people enjoy while eating on the steps of a small church on a rear side-street. "Boboli Gardens" is also only a 5 minute walk from the apartment.... Absolutely beautiful and a must see for anyone visiting Florence. We enjoyed wine/sandwiches under the shade of an old tree... Great memory! Enjoy!!!!!

My stay at Jacopo was lovely. The description of the apartment was very accurate. It's the equivalent of one block from the Ponte Vecchio, giving extremely easy access to everything in the Historic Center as well as the Oltrarno. A very quiet neighborhood with little late night noise; you're close to everything, but not in the midst of the tourist crush. Just perfect. I called from the airport, arrived at the apartment within 20 minutes, and was greeted at the door. The apartment is well-sized and comfortable. The orientation from the greeter was clear. The gas stove was a bit finicky, so be sure that you understand how to turn it on during your initial instruction, as you don't want to be struggling with it when you're in the midst of meal preparation. Pay attention to the admonitions about not turning on more than one major appliance at once. You can't dry your hair while doing a load of laundry! The power is very simple to turn back on, but listen carefully and ask questions regarding the various circuit breaker locations during that initial orientation. If you travel with a lot of luggage, know that the stairway to the second floor is long and steep, so your initial walk up to the apartment will require some arm strength! For groceries, go to Sapori & Dintorni on Via de' Bardi. It's a beautiful new grocery store very close by. There's an absolutely excellent wine bar just a couple blocks away: Le Volpi e L'Uva at Piazza dei Rossi, 1 . Beautiful wines by the glass and well-priced, delicious small dishes. A great restaurant within a short walk is il Sante Bevitore at Via di Santo Spirito, 66r. (And Olio e Convivium was also highly recommended and looks beautiful, but I didn't have a chance to try it!) The absolute best gelato in Florence is just over the Ponte Vecchio : Carapina (near the Uffizi Gallery, Via Lambertesca, 18r ) My favorite glove store, Madova -- with an incredible selection and excellent service -- is just one block from the apartment at Via Guicciardini, 1r I would happily stay in this apartment again. It's a very good price for a modest, nicely-appointed, extremely convenient apartment. I loved it.

Jacopo was a perfect size accomodation for the two of us and it is in an ideal location. The twenty minute walking radius will cover most of what anyone needs in Florence. It was just far enough from the Ponte Vecchio to not have any traffic or pedestrain noise but being that close was also a benefit when considering access to the center of the city as well as a stone's throw to the Boboli Gardens. Everything one needs for a short stay is in the neighborhood (post office, dry cleaners, food and wine shops, restaurants, pharmacy, bus stops, taxi stand). Use the Covad supermercato on the other side of the Ponte Vecchio, right side, on Via de' Bardi. I look forward to staying at this apartment again.

Perfect spot just off the "Centro grid" that made getting around the city very easy. There is no shortage in the neighborhood and 15 minute walking radius to fulfill many days of food, wine, shopping, and sights. The apartment for two is ample and the only thing to keep an eye on is power management (water heater, heat). Not a bad thing, just something to pay attention to. I look forward to staying here again.

Cathy and I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed the apartment. The location was perfect and the unit was absolutely charming. Home away from home. We also appreciated your extensive overview for Florence. Although we rented a car the minute we arrived in Florence we returned it because it would have been more of an inconvenience than a benefit. We would like to utilize your service for future trips because you clearly provide a wonderful service.

The apartment was great (except the kitchen needs to have a cutting knife). It was very nicely furnished with a number of special touches to make one feel right at home. The location was superb, within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. A number of excellent restaurants within a few-blocks radius, plus a fabulous grocery store within easy walking distance. A fresh fruit shop across the street was excellent. It is impossible to say enough about the location. Finally, I am very impressed with ItalyPerfect. The information provided, both regarding the Jacopo apartment and traveling in Italy in general, was extremely helpful and professional. I would (and already have) recommended ItalyPerfect to anyone contemplating travel to Italy. Thank you so much for your wonderful service. Thank you very much for your excellent feedback and for letting us know the cutting knife is missing. We will remedy that promptly. Lisa, Italy Perfect

Lots of good features including a comfortable bed, modern bathroom with a good shower, lots of space, great location and-importantly: good lighting. Not too noisy. Not having an oven would be a deterrant. One small and easy recommendation would be to invest in a new stereo that uses CD's and Ipod-type player. The current unit uses only cassette

Thank you so much for everything. The Jacopo apartment was just what we had hoped for...and more! The location was fantastic, we walked everywhere. It was always an easy walk when our feet got tired to get back to our Jacopo apartment "home" . There were so many terrific neighborhood amenities, great cafe around the corner, little supermarket half-a-block away, wonderful restaurants. The apartment was nicely furnished, clean and so comfortable. We would stay here and again and will recommend it to our friends. The greeter was polite and friendly too. Thank you for all the thorough confirmation materials which we poured over before our trip which really helped us prepare. Carol M. Grand Rapids, Michigan

We thoroughly enjoyed the Jacopo apartment. It is really cute and very comfortable and is in an excellent location. My only comment on the apartment was that it would have been nice to have a kitchen towel for cleaning up the dishes. We did have trouble when we first arrived. The contact person was very irritated with me because I kept trying to call him and couldn't get through [guest misdialed] and he already had someone waiting at the apartment. I was never able to get through on his cell, I tried all the day before and again when we got into Florence. I finally got him on his home phone. I did not go directly to the apt. because your instructions were explicit about calling first and I did not think anyone would be there. It took us 45 minutes to finally get through to him, partly because we were in first class at the very outside of the train and it took us 15 minutes to walk to the station and then we went to the bathroom and then I had to wait for a phone and then started trying to call him over and over. This was all a little disconcerting, but, as I said, we loved the apartment. Pamela T. San Pedro, California

I wanted to drop you a line to let you know that we had a wonderful holiday and to thank you for the great accommodations. The apartment in Florence had a superb location and was charming and full of everything we could have wanted, toiletries, kitchen supplies etc. The greeter had a bottle of wine and maps for us upon our arrival, just lovely. So thank you once again, having done rentals for the first time, it is definitely superior over a hotel. Karen & Rick Tosello Hamilton, Ontario

The apartment was cute and in a great location. The two flights of stairs might be tough on someone not in decent shape [1 flight from the street, 1 flight inside the apartment to the bedroom]. The apartment was a bit dark and very noisy. [See our description which notes pedestrian noise.] Don't blow dry your hair and use either appliance at the same time or you will blow the power which then has to be reset by flipping a switch in the wooden box that houses the mailboxes at the entrance of the building.[Standard situation in Italian homes, guest information covers this.] Everything was fun and an experience. Italy Perfect's service was absolutely wonderful and we would definitely use their services again. Their descriptions and photos are very accurate and the information packet they send after your booking is really great. Soffia Wardy Aspen, CO

We were very pleased with this accomodation. The apartment comfortably accomodated me, my husband and our 12 year old daughter. The apartment was very nicely furnished and decorated. Although we did not really cook any meals the kitchen was large and seemed well equipped. We especially loved the location of this apartment, in a lively and attractive neighborhood. There were numerous excellent restaurants and shops nearby, as well as an outdoor market. The apartment was very secure and the neighborhood seemed very safe. We were also within walking distance of all of the major attractions. We have rented vacations apartments in Germany and France and this agency was the best we have worked with to date. They were responsive, well organized, and there were no hidden fees or other unpleasant surprises. I would recommend this apartment for a couple or a family of three. Victoria Chicago, IL
