Nestled on the western shore of Camano Island, just 60 miles and NO FERRIES north of Seattle, our cabin enjoys a front row position on a never-ending beach overlooking Saratoga Passage, Whidbey Island, the Olympics, and blindingly breathtaking summer sunsets.
We're located right on the water's edge at Cove Beach, a small, private lane of six homes, and southward lies a mile of protected waterfront -- Cama Beach State Park, with its candy store, rustic cabins, and center for wooden boats. The views of the shipping traffic are ever-changing, with all variety of wildlife right outside: Gray Whales, bald eagles, harbor seals, deer, crab, and the occasional otter. The beach is gently sloped and the kids can walk and beachcomb for hours in a safe environment, in full view of the cabin. We have a small 12' rowboat which you can take out fishing or crabbing (when in season) and at low tide, the clamming is excellent. When you get tired of the water, there is golf on the island at Camaloch, an 18 hole course 10 minutes from the cabin, or further away at Kayak Point or Avalon. Shopping is convenient in the town of Stanwood, where there are also movie theaters and the rest of "civilization."
But on the island, and at Cove Beach, it's island time -- very quiet and serene, interrupted only by the joyful sounds of kids laughing and playing during the summer months.
