Residence Jardin Luxembourg is tucked between the lushness of the Luxembourg Gardens and the grandeur of the monumental dome of the Pantheon, and overlooks the bibliotheque of La Sorbonne. The adjacent streets and squares are replete with restaurants and cafés, shops and galleries, museums and theatres, services including several health clubs and swimming pools, fountains and architectural wonders.

Most of the City’s riches are within walking distance. Merely steps away are the Luxembourg Gardens, arguably the most beautiful park in the world’s most beautiful city. Created for a Medici queen of France, the meticulously manicured grounds have served as the backdrop for romances both personal and literary for centuries, and its flawlessly maintained palace is home to part of France’s legislature. In addition to the greenery, the Luxembourg Gardens features fabulous fountains, shady sitting areas, walking and running paths, tennis courts, and Paris’ most celebrated children’s playground.

Soaring into the Paris skyline just a few steps in the opposite direction is the Pantheon with its majestic dome, a monument to the great men and women of France. Just beyond the Pantheon begins the famous rue Mouffetard market with its slanting, medieval streets and seemingly endless line of stalls and shops selling every kind of French food and produce. A few minutes walk in another direction takes you through the heart of the Saint Germain district to the Seine, from whose banks one can gaze upon Notre Dame, or stroll across Pont Neuf to visit the Louvre. Yet another path takes you to the Marais district (less than 15-minutes walk), offering some of the City’s most interesting architecture as well as still another world of wonderful shopping, eating, and nightlife. For longer sojourns, numerous subway stations are nearby including Luxembourg station, which provides rapid service to both Charles De Gaulle and Orly airports without changing trains.

The Apartment is airy, bright, elegant, and spacious. On the fourth floor of a venerable 19th-century stone building, this apartment will be all that a part-time resident of Paris could need or want, including a modern elevator and newly redecorated common areas, climate control, state-of-the-art communications, and electronic building security system with intercoms. The finely detailed new kitchen and bathroom, large closets, quiet and cloistered bedroom with full southern exposure - streaming with sunlight, and exquisitely comfortable yet impeccably tasteful blend of modern and traditional furnishings and decor, with broad-plank solid oak floors, original artworks, and a wood-burning fireplace with period marble mantle-piece, will appeal to the warmest desires.

Designed to ensure the greatest comfort and ease of its fractional owners, the apartment’s practical side seeks to anticipate all needs. Equipped with all-new air-conditioning, highly efficient heating system, sound and temperature insulating windows, in-unit washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, large-capacity European refrigerator and freezer, oven and gas cook-top, kitchen and bath external air evacuation systems, and fully equipped gourmet kitchen, the apartment is eminently liveable. A full length bath tub and shower in the completely reconfigured and sunlit bathroom is complemented by a full collection of thick, luxurious towels, heated towel rack, and finished stone vanity. The stylish sofa in the living room conceals a truly superior bed with a thick, firm mattress.

High-speed wireless internet will allow guests to roam the apartment with their own laptop computer, or use the home’s dedicated computer. Cordless phones on a voice-over-internet-protocol system provide seamless and free international and local calling, and will enable fractional owners and guests who so wish to remain available to U.S. callers at a domestic U.S. telephone number that is automatically forwarded to ring in their Paris apartment. A French cell phone will be available on a simple and reasonable pay-as-you-use plan so fractional home owners can communicate and move as easily through their Paris lives as they do elsewhere without the inconvenience or expense of using a non-French phone or network. Flat screen Samsung televisions with cable and DVD players in each room, and a high quality stereo and digital music docking capability complete the technical environment.

At the end of the day in the finely appointed bedroom, the high quality bed, at 1.6 meters several inches wider than an American queen-sized bed, will have been dressed in high thread-count luxury cotton linens for your arrival by a maid who provides weekly service.

Other Features:
• Wide-plank oak floors and exposed stone walls
• Double insulated windows for quiet
• Sunlit bath with restored antique vanity
• Combination of antique and modern furnishings
• Original artwork
• Illy espresso machine

Residence Jardin Luxembourg is a fractional apartment, owned in 13 equal shares by owners who are each assigned 4 weeks per year of use. These shares are relatively inexpensive, and annual dues (including all expenses and a substantial repair/replacement reserve) are far less than the cost of renting. Better still, owners share in the appreciation of an incredible apartment in one of the great cities of the world. The apartment and the fractional owners association are professionally managed so the owners need to do nothing except enjoy their visits. If you are interested in fractional ownership of this apartment, please contact us. Or, better still, rent the apartment for your next visit to see how wonderful it is, and we will apply your rent, and your airfare, toward the purchase price of a fractional share.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 5

This location offers the best combination of features in Paris. Near great monuments and a beautiful park, it is walking distance from all of Paris' best sights, museums, shopping and restaurants.

Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 5

This is a fractionally-owned apartment shared by 13 owners who each have 4 weeks per year of use. I am one of the owners, shown in the photo with my kids Max and Jake. The apartment is listed on VRBO because sometimes an owner is unable to use all of her time, and wishes to offer it for rent. Since the owners regularly use the property themselves, it is particularly well furnished and equipped, and always spotlessly clean. We have a wonderful manager who is obsessed with perfection.

Wonderful first-time experience using VRBO

This apartment is a gem! My husband and I stayed 6 nights and could not have been happier. From the warm friendly welcome by Astrid, who explained everything we needed to know about the finer workings of the apartment, to the excellent location within walking distace to everything including metro. A quiet, comfortable bedroom and excellent facilities made our second stay in Paris so much more enjoyable than hotel accommodation. Being our very first experience of obtaining accommodation via VRBO (on a friend's recommendation), we were a little unsure at first. But the photos and description matched our expectations and the service exceeded them. This experience ensures we will use VRBO again and again. We only hope this apartment is available next time we visit Paris!! (perhaps then we shouldn't recommend it to friends.....but no, you just want to tell people of such a lovely place!) For a great dinner, we definitely recommend "Le Cosi" restaurant which is just around the corner - excellent food. We wish everyone who is lucky enough to secure accommodation at this apartment, a wonderful visit to Paris.

Beautiful, Spacious, Convenient Apartment

Date of Stay: 01/28/11 Review Submitted: 07/24/11

It took watching the end of the Tour de France on TV this morning to remind me that I had yet to submit our review for this fabulous apartment in Paris. In late Jan. 2011, my husband, 24 yr. old daughter and I visited our younger daughter while she was studying in Paris. We had a wonderful 5 days in Paris and this fabulous apartment contributed greatly to our enjoyable stay. The apartment is immaculate and tastefully furnished with high quality furniture and appliances. The location is extremely convenient allowing us to walk to many of our destinations and is convenient to public transportation. We learned quickly that after a long day of sightseeing, rather than going out to dinner, we shopped the local cheese, wine shops and bakeries, and came back to the apartment to enjoy a light dinner in front of the gas fireplace. The beds are very comfortable, including the pull out couch that both daughters shared on several nights. The apartment manager, Astrid, was extremely professional, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend this apartment. When we return to Paris we will definitely stay here again.

Lovely apartment...

Guest: Cher L. (Pietrasanta , Italy)
Date of Stay: 04/06/11 Review Submitted: 05/01/11

We, a couple, rented this for a week in March...we had glorious weather so we were mostly out and about. Great kitchen!! For any cooks who are planning to make use of the lovely markets and produce of Paris...this is the place for you! The apartment is in a superb location, comfortable, great bed, nice linens and small touches: a warm blanket for curling up on the sofa, and a pantry of basic needs. Everything was fully functioning and top of the line. The washer-dryer means don't pack extra clothes...it worked unlike most European machines...very quickly. During the day, the students of the University across the street are milling about...so you might hear them and they do smoke on the street. But hey, this is Paris and it was nice having the Sorbonne guards say a friendly " Bonjour" every morning. At night all was quiet and calm. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a safe, clean, elegant and beautiful place to stay. Astrid was great in answering and responding to each and every message and question.

Wonderful apartment

We rented this apartment for a week while visiting my daughter during her study abroad semester. I can say without a doubt that it's a beautiful place to stay. The apartment is spotless, the bed AND the sofabed were extremely comfortable and the kitchen is top notch. The apartment offers a laptop computer and a cell phone for local use which are very nice amenities. Astrid is a very professional and very helpful property manager.

Charming and very convenient

Guest: Happy Traveler (Long Beach, CA, USA)
Date of Stay: 04/18/10 Review Submitted: 07/10/10

My wife and I stayed in this apartment during late april of 2010, after a week of driving thru Normandy and Brittany. Astrid was great to work with and most accomodating. The apartment is freshly remodeled and is very comfortable, and convenient to the Metro. The free internet access and free long distance telephone service were a real plus. The access is excellent with a modern elevator to reach the apartment after long days of walking, and particularly for luggage in and out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone. Enjoyed the Brasserie Balzar nearby which is a favorite with locals in the area.

We've resisted writing this description of our stay at 11 rue Cujas; we don't want the secret to get out! Our second trip to Paris was during the first two weeks of October, 2009. Everyone agrees that Paris is magic; it's impossible not to be enthralled by this great city. Our apartment made the stay completely wonderful. Astrid was thoughtful and considerate. It was easy doing business with her; more important, we recognized her genuine wish to make our stay satisfying. We felt completely at home; the amenities made it possible to travel very light; Pat did a whisper-quiet laundry every few evenings. We toured during the day, frequently picked up food and ate at home, watched a DVD. We ceased to be tourists. Paris in this apartment was literally home for two enchanting weeks.

We spent a month in this lovely apartment in October and November. We come to Paris every year and have rented a number of apartments. This one was simply wonderful. First of all the willingness of Astrid, the property manager, to answer all of our many questions made us feel comfortable booking and her personal welcome when we arrived could not have been sweeter. The apartment is well located in the 5th, right next door to the Sorbonne. There are many cafes, restaurants, brasseries, food shops, grocery stores, pastisseries, and other establishments close by. Luxembourg Garden is a two minute walk away and perfect for a picnic. The Luxembourg RER stop is also close by and you can connect to the Metro from there to anywhere else in Paris and surrounding area. The apartment itself is spaious, comfortable, and stylishly furnished. We especially enjoyed the kitchen which was a pleasure to cook in. The bathroom is well appointed and the tub/shower was large enough to soak in after walking around Paris all day! The elevator was a treat and the building was quiet. It is a short walk down to the River Seine and the Notre Dame area. We heartily recommend this apartment and look forward to staying there again soon. But let's just keep it a secret between us! ;)

Bonjour! We are just back from a wonderful 10 days or so in that beautiful Paris apartment. This was our first "VRBO" experience and it definitely exceeded our expectations! The apartment was exactly as advertised -- only better. The location was delightful, very close to the Sorbonne, the "Jardin de Luxembourg" and easy to maneuver to any other part of the city. We walked a ton, but could hope on the train, which was just a few blocks away, whenever the feet needed a break. The apartment itself Beautiful, very comfortable, fully functional, VERY quiet and a delight to come home to at night. The bathtub was devine for soaking in and the kitchen was modern and fun to cook in. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this to any discerning traveler. I have to say, we were a bit aprehensive about renting an apartment over the internet, but the experience was really wonderful and we have absolutely no regrets. Well, one regret -- we would have liked to stay longer! Enjoy this beautiful place!
