Just returned from our week at Orion Beach House. We had seven adults and two small children and found the house to work out perfectly for all of us. Plenty of space inside and outside for everyone to spread out and have a relaxing vacation. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The decks were great and all of us enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds, boaters and fishermen. We even saw a fox running around the little island on the backside of the house. We especially enjoyed walking to the beach every evening for a few hours collecting shells until the sun set.

Had an awesome time; great sand, warm water, good fishing, great times and great memories. The house is very nice; we'll be back! P.s. Geoff and Susan are awesome!

My cousin, 5 grands and their parents enjoyed a relaxing week at your beautiful home. We spent time on the little spit of land and sand across the way behind the house. We dubbed it Daniel's island since he had so much fun there. The State Park beach and Lake were different and refreshing. Our hearts go out to you and our prayers are upholding you.

The location was very good, having easy access to both little lagoon and the gulf side beach. The house was clean, but inside and outside furniture seem pretty old. The 4th "bedroom" described as a "loft bedroom" is really just a daybed in the upstairs hallway. Given the picture, I had though there was a "bedroom" on the 3rd level, but there is not. There is just a very small space to basically look out the top window (not enough room for anyone to sleep). This house would be good for a family or families with many small children who sleep through noise and do not require any privacy. But, it was somewhat difficult with teen boys and girls due to the lack of the 4th real bedroom.
Owner response:We are lucky enough, or crazy enough, to have several houses here as well as some we take care of for friends and neighbors. If you have questions about how it might work for you, please send us an email and ask! We might have something that better matches the needs of your family, or we might be able to direct you to someone who does. We are happy to spend the time with you to explore that.

This was easily the best vacation ever--we had four adults and two five year olds in the house and had plenty of room. The house is "as advertised"--easy walk to the lagoon-side beach and the gulf-side beach, spectacular views of the lagoon, particularly from the top floor back bedroom, and a bottom deck that goes right out over the water. We fished from the deck every day (fishing poles are in the storage room), caught little crabs under the dock and used the boogie boards at the beach. The house itself is in excellent condition and nicely decorated. It would be ideal for one or two families staying together who have a lot of kids, as the top floor back bedroom has three single beds and a double bed (it's huge), and there's another single bed with a trundle in an alcove in the hall. There really is only privacy for two couples with kids or three couples without kids (three actual bedrooms). The kitchen is extremely well-appointed with dishes, serving dishes and cookware and there are lots of puzzles and games in the master closet (we added a Scrabble game for the next guests to enjoy). All in all we had a great time with plenty of room for our group of six to spread out. The house worked well for both kids and adults. Amazing vacation and we hope to be back.

My wife and I spent a month at Orion and we had a great time. Since we are retired we spent the entire month...or children and grandchildren came and went as their schedules would permit. It was obvious they had so much fun they came and went numerous times...both much to our enjoyment. Susan and Geoff were great. They couldn't have been more accomodating.
Owner response:We try to make sure the house has everything you need, whether you are coming for a week, or a month. We hope you'll make Orion your "home away from home".

We had a wonderful week here. The house was so well equipped and comfortable we felt immediately at home. We had a rather large group but did not feel crowded. We loved the ample views and ample balcony areas. The beaches though oily on day one were almost pristine by our last day here. We plan to come back here many more times. With the options of back bay and beaches we were swimming and enjoying the water despite the oil disaster. Thanks to the crews that worked so hard to keep Gulf Shores beautiful. Good luck, we'll see you soon. Gulf Shores is the best!

Orion, you have served us well. My wife and I , our son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren had a wonderful visit and enjoyed every minute. The beach; the sun; the birds; the Lagoon; the Pass; the fish; the crab's; the seafood; Lulu's; your neighborhood to the south, the Dukes...everyday a new and happy experience. And always to return to Orion, our home away from home. We will always remember you. Thank you!
