If privacy is what you're looking for...this is it! No curtains necessary at this beautiful private home on 20 acres with 60-mile views.
For snow bunnies, this home is located directly between Ragged and Sunapee mountains, for hikers, you can see Mt. Kearsarge from almost every room in the house. Dog and kid friendly, with full walk-out basement and large lawn, leading down to protected land all the way to Pleasant Lake in New London.
This 3200+ square-foot home features an upstairs master bedroom with huge bathroom and 8x25 foot walk-in closet. There is also a downstairs master with walk-in closet and its own bathroom and deck with hot tub. A child's room features a twin bed, lots of room to play, and a bathroom in the hallway. Up another flight of stairs is another extra-large master suite with its own bathroom (shower only). The house also features a flagstone front foyer, large office (which can be used as a bedroom with blow-up bed), sunroom with gas corner fireplace, dining room that seats 8-10, and a 20x26-foot living room, plus another smaller office. The kitchen has tons of green corian counter space, a breakfast island that seats three, washer/dryer, and all the amenities, including a trash compactor and garbage disposal. High-speed wireless internet is available from every room in the house.
The house looks out over Pleasant Lake, with the playing fields of Colby Sawyer College beyond, and Mount Sunapee rising majestically just beyond that. Pictures do not do the view justice. Every season has its delights - from snow-covered vistas to the golds and reds of autumn and the greenery and blossoms of summer.
Tannery Pond in Wilmot (with beach, summer swim classes and camp) is a ten-minute drive. Bucklin Beach, with great swimming and play equipment, is right in New London, about 15 minutes away.
New London - featuring the New London Barn Players, great restaurants, Colby Sawyer College, and more - is the closest town. Hanover, home of Dartmouth, is about a half-hour's drive, with its museums, movie theaters, children's museum (the Montshire), great ethnic cuisine, and more. Concord, the state capital, is also a half hour drive, with malls, and many new eco-friendly stores and markets. Tilton, with its outlet malls, is about half an hour away as well.
Dark night skies, the bliss of watching the approaching weather...the joys of this property are too many to list. Located up a town-maintained dirt road, with a 1/4 mile long country driveway, truly a sanctuary from the world.

This area is so welcoming, from the people to the beautiful vistas everywhere you look. It's great to have a college, a radio station, a newspaper, an independent bookstore, and a hospital in such a small and relaxed town. Great restaurants and shops to explore, with free outdoor concerts, beaches, and farmer's markets. This is a charming New England town with no franchises(except for one teeny Dunkin Donuts), all mom-and-pop stores, safe and friendly....and we LIKE it that way!

Bridget LeRoy has been named one of New Hampshire Magazine's Most Remarkable Women of 2008 and one of Upper Valley Life's Citizens of the Year for 2008. Eric Johnson represents artists who create large outdoor sculptures. His current show is "Animal Attractions" at the Fells in Newbury ,NH. He is currently a volunteer fire fighter, a certified kayak instructor, a yoga teacher, is fluent in French, and loves to make sushi! Bridget and Eric have three fabulous children -- Georgia, 20, Joelie, 13, and Bingham, nine. They also own one Jack Russell, Petie, two completely insane pugs, Toby and Mei-Mei, a very old pig, Fuji, and a Quaker parrot, Nikki, who lords over all.
