Enjoy rustic mountain scenery and privacy in this comfortable cedar cabin style condo near Whitefish Ski & Summer Resort, Whitefish Lake and Glacier National Park. This unique property is nestled on a private road within a very quiet 52-acre resort community called Ptarmigan Village. This two bedroom condo has all the amenities you could want to make your stay a very relaxing and enjoyable one. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs and the deluxe BBQ on the large rear deck should meet all your BBQ'ing needs.
There is a large front deck area which provides another quiet area to sit and enjoy a morning paper and coffee or tea and maybe even spot a deer or two grazing in the area. There is a washer/dryer in the lower level of the unit and an iPod-docking clock radio in the main bedroom if you want to wake up to your favourite music. There is also a large brand new Samsung 46 inch LCD TV if you want to relax with some favorite TV shows or sit back with a movie. The huge floor to ceiling stone fireplace is very unique and provides a great ambience for those cooler summer evenings or winter days. The Master bedroom is roomy and has a queen size bed and the second bedroom is a bit smaller and has a single size full length bunk bed suitable for 2 adults or 2 children. The upstairs sofa's have a large full size and comfortable pull-out bed for an additional sleeping area for another two adults or children. The cabin style condo is fully equipped for all your needs and the kitchen includes general supplies such as various spices, napkins, aluminum foil, coffee, teabags, straws, and more. Firewood is already all cut up and provided in the hidden firewood storage area next to fireplace and there is plenty more pre-cut firewood in the firewood shack steps from the condo unit. Parking is off the main road, just in front of the cabin and there is plenty of space for parking. A keypad lock provides improved convenience by being able to access the condo at anytime without the need of using or exchanging keys.
After a day of your favourite activity in the great outdoors of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, take some time to enjoy and relax in the indoor pool and dry sauna and the year-round hot tub and heated patio located just outside this pool, which is brand new and just opened in April 2009. There is even a BBQ located on the patio in case you want to cook up some hotdogs for the kids for lunch.
If you don't feel like cooking or having a BBQ at any time, take the opportunity to dine out in one of the many excellent restaurants in the area and experience real Montana hospitality and friendliness. After your meal, take a stroll through the town to look at all the interesting and unique shops and boutiques in Whitefish or enjoy some of their friendly nightlife. You won't be disappointed. Oh! and while you are there, you can always pick up some groceries at the large Super One grocery store which is open 24/7.
World-class skiing is located just a 2 mile drive up the hill at Whitefish Mountain Ski and Summer Resort - voted one of the top 20 ski resorts in the country by Powder Magazine. The nice thing about this ski resort is you rarely have the lift lines that you experience in other world-class resorts so you actually get to enjoy more skiing and less waiting.
And if golfing is your main interest, try out the Whitefish Golf and Country Club which has 36 holes (18 on the north side and 18 on the south side) and when your done there, you can try out any of the other 8 Championship Golf courses all within a 45 minute drive from Whitefish. But don't forget to try out the dining at the Whitefish Golf Club which is rated by some as one of the best dining experiences in the Flathead Valley.
Getting there:
Glacier International Airport (FCA-Delta, Northwest, Alaska & Horizon) is 20 minutes away and Amtrak goes right into Whitefish. If driving, take Interstate 90 until you are 8 miles west of Missoula. Take US Highway 93 north towards Kalispell and Whitefish, approx 120 miles. In Whitefish, turn right (north) onto Baker Avenue (City Hall will be on your right). Continue north on Baker Ave. over the viaduct and past the traffic lights where Baker Ave turns into Wisconsin Ave. Continue straight on Wisconsin Ave for approx 3 miles until you see a flashing yellow light at the intersection of Wisconsin Ave and Big Mountain Road. Turn right onto Big Mountain Road and approx 3 miles further up the hill, you will see the turn-off on your right for Ptarmigan Village. Follow this road straight for approx 1 mile until you get to a private short road called Juniper Way which will be on your left hand side.

Why the Owner Chose Whitefish Mountain
We chose to buy a vacation rental in Ptarmigan Village near Whitefish, Montana because this place has all the activities and amenities, and more, which satisfies our interests. To name just a few, there is skiing in the winter and hiking and biking in summer at Whitefish Ski Resort (5 minutes away), boating and water sports in Whitefish Lake (15 minutes away), hiking and biking in Glacier National Park (35 minutes away). Additionally, there are over 50 excellent restaurants in the area, 9 Championship Golf Courses within a 30-40 minute drive and many unique shops, boutiques and stores in the Town of Whitefish. Finally and most importantly, this whole area has very friendly people everywhere you go.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet
Our property is situated in a lush treed-in and very quiet private village with numerous amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, two sauna's and a hot tub, tennis courts, walking paths, kids fishing pond, a playground and a private beachfront and dock on Whitefish Lake. It's close location to world-class skiing at Big Mountain Ski/Summer Resort, the Town of Whitefish and it's Lake and City Beach, the numerous Championship Golf Courses within a 40 minute drive, Glacier National Park with it's 730 miles of hiking trails and it's famed "Going-To-The-Sun-Road" approx. 30 minutes away and also the "Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex" just to the south with another 2,500 square miles and over 3,200 miles of trails to explore, makes it truly a four season location.

My wife and I, together with our children, enjoy the outdoors and spending time relaxing away from home. We have many interests such as hiking, biking, golfing, skiing and boating, just to mention a few and we also enjoy good food and great dining experiences. Occasionally we also enjoy taking in a little shopping.
