Owner's Profile

Owner Description

My name is Kitty Dowaliby. I'm Mike and Sally Dowaliby's daughter-in-law and I am acting as manager for reservations for their beautiful property.

Why the Owner Chose West Glacier

The owner's family homesteaded on land further north on Lake McDonald prior to it becoming a National Park. A devastating fire destroyed the original home so the family was able to acquire the present land. The original house on the current land was taken down to accommodate the current homes.

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

Our cabin is located in Glacier Park and has a phenomenal view of Logan Pass and the Going-to-the-Sun Road. We enjoy the "hidden away" private cabin but we have access to restaurants, shopping and golf in Apgar and West Glacier and other activities located in surrounding towns.

This is a magical place. We are filled with inspiration and appreciation for the natural beauty of the lake, mountains, birds, fish, bears, goats, sheep marmots, snakes, clouds and sky! Thank you for building The Boathouse and renting it to us. We will be back!

Awesome! We had a great time! The Boathouse was perfect for our stay. It was great to come home after hiking and enjoy our crock pot feast. The views and location are great. We hope to come back again.

We took many great hikes and it was our luck to have the Going to the Sun Road open the week we were here. Watched robins build a nest on your deck porch, the hummingbirds zoom in and out to the feeders and a beaver swim by and catch breakfast near the dock. We found the peace and quiet we need yet had most of the amenities of home.

Thank you so much for the use of your boathouse. It was so nice to be right in the Park yet have all the modern conveniences of home. The kids had a blast on the dock and in the lake. So nice to be so close to everything yet so secluded.

We were beyond thrilled with the comfort of The Boathouse! From our cold, drizzly weather when we arrived to when the skies cleared, we were rewarded with spectacular vistas. We were so grateful for the peace and quiet of our accommodations and are already thinking about our next trip back.

Lake McDonald "Boathouse" Inside Glacier National Park

Awesome!

My family of 4 stayed here for the first week of August. The accomodations were perfect for us. Staying inside a National Park usually means a small cramped roomed circa 1950. The Boat House was Heaven. We had room to spread out and the well-equiped kitchen allowed my teenage boys to eat heartily after a day of activities. The location is remarkable.
