This property is a quiet location on 10 acres where deer and elk are seen daily. Second floor apartment (800 sq ft) with full length balcony (250 sq ft) overlooking the Roaring Fork Valley with the majestic Mt Sopris directly to the south. Carbondale is the nearest town which is 5 minutes away. It was featured on the cover of "National Geographic Adventure" (Sept 2008) listed with San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston labeled as one of the "50 Next Great Towns".
The scenic setting is unsurpassed as well as the outdoor activities available. Aspen is 20 miles to the SE home to world class skiing. Glenwood Springs is 12 miles to the NW which is home to the worlds largest mineral water heated pool. It was also featured as one of the best towns for fisherman. There is an abundance of outdoor activities available not to mention the second to none scenery.

Fantastic views, 12,953 foot Mt Sopris directly in front of the property. It is at a dead end road yet 2 miles from nearest bus stop and 4 miles from nearest town. Wild life, deer, elk, fox, coyotes, occasionally a bear, are seen regularly. The nearest town, Carbondale, is 5 minutes away, has great food and unique shopping. There is an abundance of outdoor activities is the most beautiful settings anywhere summer and winter alike. Aspen is close (20 mi) offering world class skiing. World class fishing also available, Glenwood Springs selected as one of the best places in the US for fishing.

Scenic, friendly, cozy

We stayed 3 nights in March 2011. Owner was very easy to work with, even with our last minute reservation requests, and very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. The place was clean, cozy, well-equipped, and quiet. Our daughter enjoyed meeting the friendly dog and friendly horses. While the place is on the second floor, nobody lives under it. So, it's quiet and private. Grill is on the porch with a great view of Mt Sopris. I have this vague memory of the owner removing snow from the driveway and from our car in the morning... Aspen is indeed close, but note that Sunlight ski resort is not that far either, 45 minutes or so, and it is smaller, cozier, cheaper, and very very kid friendly. We hope to visit again! (Glen, sorry it took me 8 months to write this...)

We loved our little home ...felt like country living but close to world class restaurants, hiking, cycling, rafting and the best Mountain VIEW of Mt Sopris from the deck & kitchen. The photos of the property are accurate and the place has a cozy feel (nicely decorated) with full size appliances..ie laundry, fridge, stove, The owners are helpful and have a beautiful home close by. Hiking suggestions were Mushroom Rock, Storm King, Hidden Lake and over to Mt Sopris (but snow was still on the trail) ! White water rafting was awesome fun on the Crystal, Roaring and Colorado Rivers. Finally...just ask me for more info at bluejayseven@hotmail.com

This is a clean apartment on the 2nd story of the owners' over-sized two car garage. It is roomy, very well-constructed (stone countertops, for example) and furnished by the owners. It has a full kitchen, nice bedroom with a comfy queen bed and a comfortable living room with satellite TV and a million dollar view of Mt. Sopris of the roomy balcony. It is on their ten acre spread in the country north of Carbondale, but only 4 miles/10 minutes from downtown Carbondale and just a little further to Glenwood Springs - highly convenient, but quiet. The owners are the nicest people imaginable. Highly recommend for couples.
