This 1880 English style three-story townhome called ‘A Place to Be’ rests between two of Savannah’s historic squares, Monterey Square to the east, well-known from the book ‘Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,’ and Chatham Square to the west. These squares, like the other twenty, are the diamonds of Savannah’s lush landscape, with the surrounding homes like small gems flanking the mother stone. ‘A Place to Be’ is a few steps off the square, southern facing with a brilliant white facade.
A couple, a family, or two to three couples will equally enjoy this home, rich in furnishings as well as all the creature comforts desired. This three-bedroom townhome sleeps six in queen beds, with three and one-half stylish baths, two on the upper bedroom level where the master bedroom resides, a powder room on the parlor level, and the remaining full bath in the garden suite. The walled garden with fish pond provides a tranquil experience for guests whether midday, or during evening cocktails. Although the home is ‘non-smoking’, the garden is ideal for smoking.
Guests choose this particular home for its warmth foremost, and then its perfect location for walking and touring neighboring shops, up and down Whitaker and Bull Streets. The parlor’s centerpiece is a baby grand piano, ideal for entertaining, and the piano can also play a variety of selections unaccompanied. The period furnishings throughout the home are from the owner’s private collection, as well as family heirlooms from her British roots.
A striking element is the live tree that grows inside the townhouse from the back garden up through the sunroom on the parlor level. There are two kitchens, the larger on the garden level and a compact butler’s kitchen on the parlor level, next to the sunroom that serves as the dining room. The home offers flat panel television, wireless internet, and wonderful views from every window to the neighborhood.
A guest may select the two upstairs suites, or the entire townhome depending on the length of desired stay. The upstairs bedroom suites are available individually nightly or weekly. The entire townhome may be chosen for a month or longer stay.

Why the Owner Chose Savannah
Because of the stunning neighborhood with breathtaking squares surrounded by historic homes. In addition, Forsyth Park because of it's beautiful fountain fashioned off a Paris fountain, and homes that remind me of England. This park is open to the public for jogging, picnicking, playing games, and sometimes the site for art shows and concerts.
