What an idyllic setting! We left the cabin just once, to visit Bearizona in Williams, just ten minutes away. Our stay was perfect - we were so busy and happy enjoying the outdoors that we did not turn on the tvs during our entire stay. There is great hiking around the property. The swings and treehouse kept all four generations entertained. Thank you for providing so many seating areas outside. Some of us read, others corrected schoolwork and others wrote letters. We spent the majority of our time outside. All seven of us enjoyed the best Arizona vacation ever!

Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin and the surrounding area. It is a beautiful spot in the woods. The owner, Dawn, has absolutely thought of everything and anything one could need to make her home comfortable for visitors. I wish we had more time there ! Had a really nice campfire one night and toasted marshmallows.....nice family moment. The location is very convenient to I40,only about 20 min to Flagstaff but with the feeling of being in the wilderness. We will definitely think of staying there again in the future. Highly reccomended !

Experience: 20 minutes outside of flagstaff we turned onto rt 66 and then a side street. Driving back into the wilderness I knew this was going to be the out of the way place we were looking for. Bringing my family of 4, another couple w/ a baby, and two dogs we were hoping for some quality space to play. That is exactly what we had at this cabin. Great 3 bedrooms, amazing fire pit, adequate size living area, and a huge plot of land to explore, sled, and enjoy the snow that started falling when we arrived. Negatives: Kitchen a bit tight but fully loaded, Cleaning fee high for how clean it was. Recommended: Great place for kids, dogs, and those just wanted some peace and quiet. Thanks to Dawn for the great customer service!

Pictures do not do this cabin justice! Our experience was greater than we could have imagined. EVERYTHING was 1st class. The beds and bedding were top of line and the kitchen had everything we needed to make cooking a breeze. Having all the little extras truly made a difference. Sleds to sled down your hill; a fire pit to make s'mores and the tree house for the kids was perfect. Our labradoodle was in heaven chasing the squirrels and playing in the snow. Thank you so much for allowing our dog to be included in the family fun! None of us wanted to go home and we are already talking about when we can come back. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

We spent a great weekend at this wonderful cabin in the woods. Everything was clean, neat and tidy. It had all the amenities that anyone could ask for. The 2 car garage was especially nice in the snow. The kids sure enjoyed sledding as well. The owner is very helpful and responsive as well. We would definitely recommend it to a friend. What a great stay!

We were so impressed by the amount of amenities this cozy, inviting cabin had to offer. The owner(s) did a great job of making sure that everything you needed and didn't think you needed were there. Fire pit and swings make it the perfect home away from home. All you need to bring is your clothes and food. We will defiantly stay here again.

This Beautiful cabin is the best one we have ever stayed at. The photos of it are great but seeing it and the location is just "Over the top!" Very Clean and well stocked and Dawn is very helpful and nice! We have been telling everyone about this awesome cabin. We took a trip on the Verde Canyon Railroad and saw more lovely scenery. Mostly we hung out at the cabin and enjoyed the peaceful beauty and the fresh air! We cannot wait to come back~

After days of searching on VRBO we finally decided on this cabin.WOW!! What a beautiful cabin in such a private lot! The kids had a blast in the tree house and we enjoyed watching them from the relaxing hammock by the firepit! The house is so comfortable and I never felt like I was in someone elses home, it felt like it was ours,The owner was so easy to work with and even had a welcome basket waiting for us. Wine for us and cookies and goldfish for the kids! Such a great touch that we were not expecting! We went to the Grand Canyon and Bearizona and spent hours playing UNO and games! Thanks for the great quality family time! We'll be back!

Our family had a great time at this property. This house was was more than expected, the pictures do not do it justice. When we walked in the first time we were impressed at the decor of the house - it gave that "at home" feeling. All the appliances were up to date and having a BBQ was nice when we were late getting back and did not want to have a big mess to clean up afterwards. The house was central to everything we wanted to visit in Arizona. What a wonderful way to end the day after site seeing, relax on a deck overlooking the ponderosa pine forest as the children playing and laughing on the tree-house and swings. This was our first time in Arizona and if we ever came back we would definitely would stay here and would recommend it to anyone we know traveling this way. Thank you for the wonderful memories our family will cherish.

We truly enjoyed your Rocky Mountain Retreat for during our week trip to Northern Arizona. The cabin is spacious, beautiful, yet family-friendly. We made memories while watching wildlife, playing board games, savoring wonderful meals and sitting by the campfire when not exploring the area. You have thought of everything to make vacationing easy, providing all the comforts of home. We will not hesitate to refer others to your beautiful home.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Rocky Mountain Cabin. It was lovely. The cabin was equipped with all of the comforts of home. The family included two teen girls, a 10 year old boy, Grandmother, and my husband and I and our black lab. We really enjoyed playing board games and reconnecting in this comfortable and beautiful cabin. In addition, we were able to enjoy the outdoors by hiking around the cabin, BBQing, and having a campfire to make smores. We will definitely come back when we get the chance. Thank you.

This cabin is AMAZING! The pictures do not do it justice. We went for two weeks with our two toddlers and their grandparents. The house is spacious, clean and the owners have not missed ANYTHING. We couldn;t get over how beatiful the house was and how we never found ourselves saying, "Oh we need to go get ____ to make this complete. Outside was even better! The treehouse provided hours of entertainment for our kids. The firepit, swings and outdoor seating had us enjoying our stay from all kinds of angles. We went there to escape the Texas heat and boy were we glad we did. Amazing weather, beautiful surroundings, close enough to town if we did need anything but far enough away to truly relax. We cannot wait to go back again and again!!

We thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful quiet getaway. The cabin has all the amentities and comforts of home and then some. It was very clean and well maintained. The outdoor areas are equally as pleasant, as the indoor. The Grand Canyon is an easy drive from the cabin, in addition to a variety of different local hikes to choose from. Dawn has a wealth of information (brochures, maps, etc) at the cabin on local activities and restaurants, which was very helpful. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

I have always been a person that does not trust the internet . But my son swore by this site so I decided to take the chance. And I am so very glad we did. We went mainly for my oldest grandson 13th birthday. He always wanted to stay in a cabin. We pulled up and wow the size and beauty of the Cabin was just breathe taken. Kids ran for the huge tree house, the slide, the swings. We went in the cabin and could not believe all the little added things that were done or left for us. The cabin was huge and so beautiful. amazing inside and out. The nights with the camp fire and the lights around the house. Just amazing!!! Thank you Dawn and Mike for letting us enjoy that beauty and have the "Best Family Time Ever" Hope to see you next time in the Winter

The listing description was accurate, the photos accurately reflect the appearance and amenities, the property was clean and well-maintained, the owner was very helpful answering questions, and I would definitely recommend this property to other friends and relatives. We ate dinner in Williams and lunch the next day at the Grand Canyon. We enjoyed the fire pit and sledding, playing games in the cabin and just relaxing.

Retired teachers ( 4 of us) have been traveling together for 10 years and this is, without a doubt, one of our favorite - We couldn't believe how well equipped this place is - The property was well maintained and had anything and everything you could wish for in a vacation home - The owner has provided lots of activities for kids - Dawn was great - We highly recommend this place for a wonderful getaway - Lots of sites around to visit and enjoy - Even a kind law enforcement officer who stopped us on our first day for exceeding the 35 speed limit - He only gave us a verbal warning but we certainly paid attention to our speed after that!!!!! We spent a super, peaceful and fun week. You can't beat this place - We recommend you go there and enjoy. We hated to leave. Thanks, Dawn Florida teachers - Ruth, Debbie, Violet and Hilda

We spent 4 nights at he Rocky Mountain Retreat at the end of July and had a truly marvelous time. The location was a great base for the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Flagstaff activities. We were actually glad to have a couple rainy days, as it forced us to slow down and enjoy all the cabin has to offer. Our 5 boys had a blast playing inside and out. Loved sitting on the great deck, watching them play and have a grand time. We were on a 16 day vacation to the Arizona/Utah parks - all the other nights were spent camping, so these 4 nights right in the middle were a very welcome luxury! We commented to each other that we felt as if were at the home of good friends! Thanks for sharing! We look forward to returning!

Our family of six adults and 3 children (from Texas and Indiana) had a wonderful stay in this cabin. From the moment we spoke with the owner, Dawn, to arrange our summer vacation at the cabin, we found her to be very gracious and helpful in sharing information, answering our questions and making us feel like part of her family. A call from Dawn after we arrived to make sure we were comfortable and arrived okay, showed her genuine concern. Our excitement that started the moment we booked the cabin turned into an awesome, heart-warming experience as we drove from Phoenix to Flagstaff. After we arrived at the cabin and got out of our vehicles the smell of cedar welcomed us. We found the most beautiful cabin among the pines and hillside. The interior of the cabin was beatiful and every amenity you could think of was available to us. The cabin was spotless and we never felt "crowded" inside. The outdoors was like paradise. The children loved the treehouse, swings, boulders to explore and the campfire area, especially telling stories around the fire each night. Day travels to the Grand Canyon, Williams, Jerome and beautiful Sedona area were "extras" that made our cabin stay even more memorable. All of us plan to return and will definitely share our experience and recommend this property with friends and family. We thank you for making our family feel like part of your family in sharing your beautiful cabin and God's beauty outdoors with us.

We brought a bunch of cousins here for their summer vacation. (ages 6-13) It was perfect! There were plenty of places for the kids to play on the property, the walks around the cabin were easy to do, and there plenty of activities in the area as well. The owner was pet friendly, which was one of the biggest pluses. Especially when someone you travel with is in need of a companion animal. It was fun to sit ont he porch in the morning and watch the deer walk by. The squirrels chased each other all around the pines, and the birds chirped happily as the kids ran all over playing on the swings and in the fort. The he cabin was comfortable and the owner was wonderful to work with. This is a great place to bring your family!

My family and I had a wonderful week at the Rocky Mountain Retreat. My two sons loved just hanging out at the cabin, playing on the treehouse. Our seven year old's favorite spot was the hammock and our five year old was always on the tree swing. The cabin had everything we needed and more. The surrounding area is beautiful and it's close enough to Flagstaff and Williams that we were able to go to the Deer Farm in Williams and spend a couple days exploring many wonderful spots in Flagstaff. I would definitely recommend going to the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff for the daytime tour and then going back at night to look through the telescopes. It was a great experience for the whole family! After spending a week at the cabin our boys were not ready to leave. We'd love to go back!

We had a wonderful week at your cabin among the pines and felt at home from the minute we arrived. Everything was just what we expected, or it was better! (A hint for future visitors - don't buy condiments until you've seen if there's any left in the fridge.) Our goal was to visit the Grand Canyon for the first time. We spent two days there (75 minute drive one-way) and we were able to see the sun rise and set in one day, with a nap at the cabin in-between visits. We made a day-trip to Page, AZ for a boat trip on Lake Powell and numerous smaller side-trips as well as just relaxing at the cabin. It was a week to remember and we closed the week with a campfire beneath a star-filled sky. We thoroughly enjoyed our AZ vacation spent in this beautiful cabin!

Anyway my girls and I had a wonderful time. Your cabin was so peaceful and comfortable we felt like we were staying at our own home. It was even more lovely than the pictures portray and had more than everything we could possibly need. My girls especially loved the outside spaces. They wanted to stay at the cabin and play more than they wanted to go explore! It was just secluded enough to feel totally away from it all without being too far from civilization. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back. Thank you for sharing your amazing retreat with my family. We'll be back and we'll be letting everyone we know about it as well!

We wanted a place where our 7 children would have room to play. They loved this cabin. My 4 year old son stayed outside most of the time. He made snow "soup" in the washtub. He and his sisters played pirates in the playhouse. They made two snowmen. I enjoyed swinging on the swing on top of the hill and looking at everything covered with snow. One morning I sat on the living room couch staring out the window by the fireplace. I counted 20+ pine trees in the frame of the window. A beautiful picture! The cabin lived up to the advertisement on the website. It was very clean. I would recommend this cabin to friends. I asked the owner several questions before and during our stay. She was very helpful.

We stayed at the cabin from 03/28/10 to 04/01/10. It was a wonderful experience. It is truly away from it all, yet close enough to so many sites that are within in a couple hours drive. The cabin was great no issues at all and there was still snow on the mountain so our boys went sledding almost as soon as we arrived. I look forward to staying again should I be in the area. Thanks for your hospitality for the stay.

To say that we enjoyed our stay in your beautiful cabin would be an understatement. I grew up in a pine forest in CA and being in those trees is a spiritual experience for me that is very renewing. Your home was perfect for all of us. I had just had some knee surgery but didn't even need to leave the property to feel drenched in the woods. Every room in the house has a lovely view! I enjoyed sitting on the deck in your wonderful, sturdy, roomy, comfortable deck chairs. Thank you for putting quality furniture out there. My daughter and I even sat out on the covered deck area by the BBQ while it was raining...one of my special memories. It was nice to have a big table out on the deck too where we could all sit to eat and play games. My husband needed a rest and the peacefulness of your home and the setting was most restful...... he slept a good deal of the time we were there which was a good thing! The trip was a gift to our daughter for her 30th birthday and she truly enjoyed her time there, especially since her nine month old was so happy there and also that there were so many things for her nine year old to do. I am pretty sure our granddaughter did everything you have provided for a kid to do, inside and outside! Her favorites were the video games, darts, ring toss, hammock and the single swing near the fire pit. Even the baby played with the ring toss ball and football. We all appreciated how clean everything was, especially with the baby crawling all over. We made smores and enjoyed the stars in the sky while the fire crackled. We appreciated all the information you provided about the cabin and the surrounding area. We also noticed all the little extra thoughtful touches, like the empty pantry in the kitchen ready for us to just pop our food into it. The hot water was hot, thank you! We also appreciated the light blocking shades in the bedrooms. We brought our own laundry detergent because of the baby but we did notice that you furnished that too, along with emergency sewing needs and flashlights. Everything was so new and in such beautiful condition, we hope all your renters will be appreciative of your home and treat it with the respect it deserves. We will be back! (guest email)

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is a great central location to visit the surrounding sites !! We love the area so probably will come back again sometime. The time sure flies by. We went to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff and Williams. On our drive home we went to Winslow and stood on the corner there. Thanks again for sharing your lovely cabin. (guest email)

Thank you so much for opening your beautiful mountain get away to our families to enjoy. We had so much fun! Everything we could have asked for and more. It is very refreshing to find a place to stay that feels like a home; every time we looked for something it was there! We will definitely be back! (cabin guestbook)
