Location: Paris Arrondissement 7, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe (Paris, St. Germain des Pres) View Map
Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-3)
Our apartments are located in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés, one of the most sought after and expensive "quartier" in Paris. The Musee d'Orsay, the Louvre, the Musee Rodin, the Jardin des Tuileries, and the Hotel Matignon (residence of the French Prime Minister) are all within easy walking distance.
The one-bedroom apartment on the rue du Bac is in a 19th-century building located between the Seine and Boulevard Saint Germain. Directly across the street are the two finest hotels (according to the Michelin Guide, 2000) in the Seventh Arrondissement, the Pont-Royal, and the Montalembert. The apartment itself is approached by entering through the huge, dark, green doors into a small, private, cul-de-sac. At the far end of this cul-de-sac lies a particularly elegant building (beautifully lit at night) belonging to the French government.
The apartment is on the fourth floor, looking out onto the central courtyard. There is an elevator as well as an elegant and spacious stairwell. All the common areas of the building are maintained to a high standard by the very capable concierge.
At 50 square meters (about 520 square feet), the apartment may not be large, but it is wonderfully cozy, charming, and authentic. The floors are polished wood, the ceilings are tall (about nine feet or three meters), there are four windows (all looking out onto the central courtyard), and two (non-working) fireplaces. Modern conveniences include a laptop computer with internet access, a small but well-equipped kitchen, bathroom with spacious shower, washer-dryer, and electric heating.
As for the furnishings, they include an elegant and comfortable sofa in the living room, a top-quality, queen-size bed in the bedroom (divisible into two single beds if required), and a television with English language channels. And for those staying for more than one week, weekly maid service is included at no extra cost.
we also owns another studio apartment in the same area. There is only a one-minute walk from one to the other. For more information, please go to VRBO listing 23959. You can also directly view photos of this studio apartment from this page by clicking the "Camera" below, then go to photos that named "Rue de Grenelle - studio apartment".
The third apartment, which we call the "large one-bedroom" apartment is located in the 8th arrodissment, right off from the Rond-Point Champs-Elysées, in the middle of the Arc de Triumph and the Concorde. You could see photos of this apartment under "large one-bedroom"s.
We just had a new apartment in the "Marais" area, large one-bedroom with beautiful views. For full information and more photos of all my apartments, please click on "owner's own website" buttom listed below.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 7
St. Germain des Pres, the neighborhood where my apartment located, is considered one of the most desirable area in Paris. Historically, many existential philosophers, writers, artists, intellectuals frequented this part of Paris on the left bank in the 1920s'. Today, it is still home to many well established publishing houses, antique galleries, prominent politicians, artists, well-known actors/actresses, some most important French industrialists (Bernard Arnaud of LVMH and Francois Pinot of PPR, just to name a few), and many other francophil, high spirited and well heeled Americans, Italians, and English, etc. It is a small "village" with an international ambiance, and an arty buzz.
Secondly, this part of Paris is very central, and you can easily visit most part of Paris with public transportation (subway, metro) or by foot. The two most important large state museums (Louvre and d'Orsay) are within walking distance (5 and 10mns), not too mention many other smaller private museums such as Rodin, Delacroix, Maillol, etc,.
Last but not the least, locals (either French or internationals) in this area are most open-minded, friendly, courteous, and are most willing speaking English to help some new comers or some temporary "neighbors".
I truly love this area, and apparently I'm not alone. The house price in this small part (the border of the 6th and the 7th arrondissement) is the highest of all Paris, and a good apartment is still difficult to find, and goes very quickly depite its' disuasive price.
Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 7
I've always had a soft-spot for the St. Germain des Pres neighborhood, so when the opportunity came 8 years ago, I snatched this beautiful apartment on rue du Bac. Its' classical features of 18th century apartment (original wood floor, 2 fireplaces, and high ceilings) with a modern facility - the elevator, made a perfect combination of the old and the new world. It has always been a pleasure to return to this apartment when there is no guests, and enjoy my neighborhood, where excellent Michelin star chef restaurants mix with some small local places, some very refined hotels (Montalembert and Pont Royal) shouldering with historical cafés and local bars. All of my guests loved the area, and had fonding memories of their Paris trip... Alexandra Li, Paris, France

We have enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, light and pleasant apartment very much. The location is perfect, and the local shopping quite a treat! We hope to return someday soon!

Thank you for creating this lovely space, both cozy and elegant! We felt very well taken care of and enjoyed living in Paris rather than staying in the tourist realm

Dear yinying, Thank you, again, for your hospitality. The apartment is beautiful – a home away from home for us. So nice to come back here after a long day of sight-seeing! We look forward to staying with you again!

We absolutely loved the apartment ! It is so cozy and comfortable, in a fantastic location. The detailed instruction book was most helpful. Having so much space compared to a hotel room was a real joy, and my niece and nephew felt like real Parisians as opposed to tourists on their first visit here. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. We would love to stay here again soon!

Merci et au revoir yinying! We won’t forget our first meeting! We love Paris, you have been very gracious and helpful. Hope to see you in the future!

Dear Yinying, Your apartment was perfect! Quiet, safe, comfortable, tastefully decorated, thoughtfully equipped, including great bed reading lights, walking close to the Louvre, Marais, Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, outdoor food market, and, best of all, only two minutes away from one of the best boulangeries in Paris. Your personal help made it extra special! Our visit at your apartment could not have been nicer. If we can get away to Paris again, we will be contacting you for certain. Ann and I really appreciated your help- the morning cafe conversation, your help connecting with our friends, your suggestions, and our visit with you and Chris in our Paris home.
