When renting at the Elysian Beach Resort there are two things you absolutely need to know:

1) Are you renting a single room unit? Most of the units are 450-500 square feet. Our condo is actually three combined units with approximately 1,500 square feet in which to spread out!

2) The Elysian Beach Resort is built on a hillside. One of the most common questions we get asked is "How many stairs do I need to traverse to/from the beach and swimming pool?" Our condo is near the bottom of the hill and is one of the closest to the beach and pool, and we still have great views. We have the fewest number of stairs to traverse than anywhere else in the resort. Our unit is about a 60-second walk to the beach; the pool is closer.

The Island: You have come to the right island if you want to explore some of the most beautiful sights in the world, partake in virtually any water/boating activity, lounge at several of the world’s most beautiful beaches, or enjoy extraordinary restaurants.

Take day trips to St. John or the British Virgin Islands, shop in world renowned & duty-free Charlotte Amalie, golf in a Caribbean paradise at Mahogany Run, or visit the infamous Udder Delight roadside stand next to the St. Thomas Dairy for a Kahlua Milkshake ... and the list goes on and on! It’s all here for you on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, a U.S. Territory.

The Condo: In this exquisitely decorated two bedroom condo, each room has a private furnished balcony, A/C unit, ceiling fan, cable TV, and private bathroom. The condo contains one king, two queens, and one drop-down queen Murphy bed. Two twin inflatable mattress with linens and electric inflate/deflate are available upon request. Central to the condo is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room. All linens are provided. As a direct guest of the owner (through this website), you will be provided the best rates and a private check-in that allows you to bypass the front-desk process.

The Resort: Come and enjoy the exclusive and immaculately manicured Elysian Beach Resort where the aqua blue Caribbean water of Cowpet Bay will be ever present in your views from the living room, the bedrooms, or any one of this exquisite condo's three private balconies.

The Elysian is located just 12.5 scenic miles from the Cyril E. King airport (STT) on the east end of St. Thomas where it rises from its secluded beach to offer a most magnificent setting tucked quietly between the Ritz-Carlton and the St. Thomas Yacht Club.

From the moment you enter the resort you will begin to relax as you discover that most all of your vacation needs can be satisfied within a few hundred feet of the condo.

Start your day by visiting the beach-side veranda of Robert's American Grill, a local favorite, for that first cup of fresh coffee where you can sit in the fresh morning air and get started on that book you've been wanting to read. If coffee and a book is not your style, consider a brisk workout at the resort health club or a game of tennis on a court surrounded by palm trees.

Later in the morning, enjoy the beautifully secluded white sand beach, where, in the shade of the palm trees, you will find complimentary use of beach towels, beach furniture and a sports concession stand that offers a variety of water toys such as paddle boats, single and double kayaks, windsurfers, float-mats, and snorkeling gear.

Enjoy lunch on the beach deck at Ainsley's Restaurant while you watch the iguanas sunbathing. (See our FAQ for information about feeding the iguanas.)

After you tired of the iguanas, get up and join in one of the friendly games of beach volleyball before you visit the resort spa for a relaxing massage or sauna.

If partaking of island rum is also on your agenda, visit one of the three resort bars. Make sure to ask for the ever popular "Pain-Killer" drink invented and made famous at Soggy Dollar Bar on the island of Jost Van Dyke. (Better yet, take the ferry from Red Hook to Jost Van Dyke by way of Soppers Hole in Tortola where you can clear BVI customs ... take your passport.)

For a change of scenery, with reading material in hand, consider spending an afternoon sitting at the Elysian freshwater swimming pool; one of the most exquisitely designed and landscaped pools on the island, complete with rock grotto waterfall and hot tub.

In the evening, dine in casual elegance at Robert's where you will be served excellent food and entertainment.

If playing a game of chance is in the cards, try your luck at video poker in the gaming room next to the sundries store!

The resort is just two miles from Red Hook, the center of St. Thomas's popular east end activity and ferry transports to the other islands in the area (USVI and BVI). In Red Hook you will also find boutiques and groceries, and several marinas where you can rent powerboats or sailboats. Red Hook also has many popular restaurants and nightclubs.

  • My wife and I stayed in this condo in August of 09. It has a great location near to red hook. The property has 2 great restaurants one a bit more upscale and one that is very casual. The unit is huge with tons of space. Very clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely stay there again.

  • what a wonderful vacation we enjoyed at your 2BR unit at the Elysian last week. The unit it self was perfect, with more than enough room for us. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed at hand so we could just relax and enjoy each day. We enjoyed the full day snorkel tour which we signed up for right at the Elysian, and we also took the ferry to St. John one afternoon, and stayed there for dinner. We tried a few places for dinner, including the Agave Terrace, which has a beautiful setting high up on a cliff overlooking the water. For our last 2 nights, we stayed right at the Elysian at our 2 favorites - Robert's and Ainsley's. Each day we considered heading off to explore other beaches on St. Thomas, but we had trouble tearing ourselves away from the beach at the Elysian, where we had everything we needed - good snorkeling, a cool breeze, nice shady places spots under the palm trees, and the pool nearby. We look forward to a future vacation on St. Thomas, and we wouldn't think about staying anywhere else.

  • We stayed in this condo 6/15/09 and had a wonderful time. The condo had plenty of space for the four of us. It was especially nice to have two queen beds in the second bedroom. We really enjoyed the pool area, it was very nice. The beach was okay, not real fantastic. We enjoyed the two restaurants at the resort, Roberts American Grille & Ainsleys. This condo is in an excellent area. Just a short drive to Red Hook. We took a ferry over to St. Johns and also chartered a sail boat with Ike Witt. We recommend a visit to Trunks Bay in St. John for great snorkeling and to Coki Beach in St. Thomas.

  • Wanted to let you know what a great time we had on St Thomas and in your condo. First of all the place was great, and roomy, and we especially enjoyed that third bathroom with the five of us! The location of the unit is also great, with the view of the water and pool too. I can see why you choose that spot. We went to several beaches on St Thomas (Sapphire, Coki, Magen's Bay, Secret Harbor) as well as Cowpet Bay. I think the Elysian Resort is the best of all the resorts on those beaches for sure. We booked two "excursions" while we were there....the first was a day sail with Jester out of Point Pleasant which was a slow sail over to Caneel Bay and Honeymoon Beach to snorkel with lunch on board afterwards and then a slow sail back to Point Pleasant. We wish they would have stopped at least once more, but we'll know better to ask up front next time. In between the excursions, we took the car ferry over to St John and snorkeled Trunk Bay and drove by Cinnamon and Maho Bays and on to Annenberg Sugar Mill, Coral Bay and back to Cruz Bay for a late lunch and souvenir shopping. Our second excursion, and last day on St Thomas, we took a private charter motor boat with Big Blue Excursions out of Red Hook (Dock A) that was excellent. Capt Bradley Wilson took us to Congo Cay for a drift snorkel, and on the Leinster Bay and Water Lemon Cay on St John for more snorkeling. Then we headed to Jost Van Dyke, to Great Bay to see Foxy's, clear customs, over to Foxy's Taboo for lunch, and then to the Soggy Dollar Bar for Painkillers and T-shirts. Great day! Great trip!

  • We vacationed in St. Thomas 5/9 - 5/14 and had an excellent trip. We rented through VRBO and stayed in Condo #2. Cowpet Bay is great. Very beautiful and extremely relaxing. The Elysian amenities are really nice. The pool is fantastic. The condo itself was perfect. 2 Bedrooms, 3 baths, and the fold out murphy bed accomodated my party of 6 adults and two infants no problem. The condo was stocked with everything needed for a great vacation. Location is great as Red Hook is just a hop and a skip. One work of warning, please find Kmart and Cost U Less as soon as you arive in St. Thomas. The marina market is convenient, but the cost savings for the week would have been immense had we done the bulk of our shopping at Cost U Less. Did a lot of dining. Iggie's on Bolongo Bay was so much fun. I will definately vacation in St. Thomas again and will definately stay in either of this particular owner's 2 condo's at the Elysian.
