My family has been renting this cabin for almost 30 years - there's a reason we keep returning each summer. This piece of God's country provides the perfect escape from our hectic lives at home. We pack our bathing suits and a stack of books and magazines, and spend every day on the best private beach in the world! If it rains, we can head into town for some unique shopping, lunch at The New York (with the BEST Bloody Marys!), and/or the famous area ice cream. There are also movie theaters in nearby Petoskey. The cabin itself provides everything you could need to enjoy a true vacation. It "holds” a family nicely, and extends to an enclosed porch on which you can sit and watch nature, including resident hummingbirds. We love the scenic hike to the beach, across an incredible hand-crafted bridge. Our day isn't complete until we've taken a long walk on the beach, gazed at beautiful Michigan rocks under crystal-clear Lake Michigan water, and caught up on some serious reading. We absolutely love this "beach lovers' paradise" and plan to return for many years to come.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family (ages 3-40) stayed at the "Wee Hoose" for about a week over the 4th 2010. It was a wonderfully maintained cabin that was fully equipped with most kitchen items, towels, toiletries, and extra bedding that one might need. The beach was a bit of a hike from the cabin but there is a drive closer to the beach for drive-up and then a very short jog to the waters edge. We loved that the cabin was tucked away, quiet (which translates to peaceful and relaxing) vacation spot just off scenic M119 (Tunnel of Trees). South of the cabin is a farm- "Pond Hill Farm" where you can feed farm animals and fish, and purchase locally grown/raised vegetables, fruits, and meats. If in Harbor Springs, one must try: "Tom's Mom's Cookies"- cookies to die for- and the "Woolly Bugger"-great coffee. Mackinaw Island is also a 45 minute drive/cruise away for a nice day trip. Never was disappointed during our trip to the "Wee Hoose" in Harbor Springs!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
