We were very pleased with unit 3- 501 at El Zalate. The condo was recommended by a friend and I would not hesitate to do the same. The condo was in great shape and fully equipped. The owner went of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The condo overlooks the pools and the beach and the view is magnificent. The grounds are kept in great shape and everything is spotless. It would very hard to find anything negative or concerning about this condo complex. The location is quiet and ideal for a relaxing vacation. The beach is among the best we have seen and is perfect for long walks. San Jose Del Cabo offers great food and the locals are very friendly. Whatever bad press other areas in Mexico may get, you will not feel unsafe or at risk here. 10 out of 10 for this vacation property and the gracious hosts.

Our family of five (2 adults and three teenagers from 13-16) stayed at this condo during our summer vacation. We were very impressed with the condo itself and also the unbelievably BEAUTIFUL views of the ocean/beach from all sides of the condo. The condo was very nice and well kept. It had everything we needed and then some. It made our stay very comfortable and kept the stress of traveling at a minimum. The location was easy to find and was an easy drive to the San Jose shopping district and also to the Cabo San Lucas shopping areas (one straight shot taking about 20 minutes). We really appreciate the help and advice Chris gave us and the other ammenities that were available at the condo that were not even mentioned. We were very very pleased with our stay at this property and would definitely stay here again in the future, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. Thank you Chris for the wonderful accommodations and expert help and advice and we look forward to visiting again and staying again at your property at the El Zalate!!

For anyone looking for a beautifully-appointed, exceptionally clean, and comfortable condo in the best location in the El Zalate complex, look no further! Our family of 4 (with 2 teen girls) stayed here in August for 9 days. This was our first experience renting a condo in Mexico, and were happy to see that the condo was even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. The beds were very comfortable, bathrooms spacious with nice showers, a kitchen with everything you need, plus an incredible ocean view from every room. The spacious deck overlooks the beach and pools. The whole complex was very well maintained and safe, with security guards doing their rounds day and night. The owner, Chris, was very helpful -- called to check how we were doing when we first arrived, and was quick to respond to questions sent by email. For example, one evening I emailed him that the propane ran out in the BBQ, and the next morning the property manager came by to refilled it for us. He provided lots of helpful information about the area before we arrived. We rented a car and drove the 5 minutes into San Jose everyday, especially to visit the French Bakery. Best tip: buy fresh salsa and guacamole by the lb at Mega, in the deli section in the back. Favorite restaurant: Taqueria Mexico, on "Centro" road next to Walmart. Great food, nice people, and the most reasonably priced place around. We'd also recommend Chileno Beach if you like to swim, as it is a bit too rough for swimming in front of the condo. We had a wonderful time ... thank you Chris! We hope to visit again.

Found this place while we were staying at another condo in the complex and our friends were staying here. We decided to stay here on our next visit, a year later, and were very glad we did. Chris, the owner, was very accomodating from my initial contact with him. He sent me a packet loaded with information regarding the condo and surrounding activities, places to eat, and things to do while on our stay there. The unit was extremely clean and well stocked with all the essentials you could ask for. The use of the suv and garage was a huge plus for us. Not having to deal with the rental car companies down there and just jumping on the shuttle to and from the condo was definitely the way to go . Our ritual was to load up our surfboards on the racks and find waves. We didn't have to go far to do that . All in all, it was a great trip. From the weather, to the waves, to the condo, we couldn't ask for more ! Looking forward to our next stay here.... already checking dates for next year !!! Thanks Chris !

Wow! We enjoyed every minute of our stay at El Zalate. Beautiful, clean accomodations, stunning views, and so much to do & see. Loved the central location and found the locals to be extremely friendly. We would both recommend your condo to all of our friends. We would come back in a heart beat. Many many thanks!

What a wonderful holiday we had at "Casa Lewis" again this year. We felt right at home from the minute we entered the condo until the sad day that we had to leave. We opened all the sliding doors and windows our first day at the condo and didn't close them until the day we left. The breezes were warm, the sun was hot and the beer icy cold. Our fishing adventure was a highlight of the trip. From snapper to dorado to two hundred pounds of tuna we reeled until our arms nearly fell off. The condo area is safe, quiet and beautifully maintained. We will certainly be back next year.

Thank you Chris and Ginny for giving us honeymoon memories to last a lifetime! Your condo provided top notch accommodations, million dollar views, and ever amenity we could have asked for during our one-week stay. The condo is well appointed and provided ample room for two. The kitchen was modern and had all the necessary equipment for cooking a full dinner, or simply blending some cocktails to enjoy on the lanai. The outdoor kitchen includes a fridge and bbq which made outdoor dining easy. The view of the sunrise from the unit was remarkable. You can tell Chris and Ginny have really made an effort to make their guests feel at home at El Zalate. Everything from the wide selection of DVDs and CDs, use of the laptop computer, and good quality linens helped make our stay even better. The location is perfect, as the condo is situated right on the beach, with direct access from the El Zalate pool area to the sandy shore. The pools are clean, the chairs are comfortable, and the grounds are impeccably manicured. Five minutes up the road (or 15 minutes by foot if you walk along the beach) is a grocery store and Starbucks for ‘essentials’. Massages are offered on the beach 5 minutes from El Zalate for $35 USD/hour. The beach is vendor-free and very walkable. With the use of the vehicle we were able to explore Los Cabos, Todos Santos, and many other stops along Highway #1, making our trip even more special. Chris and Ginny, we can’t thank you enough for making our honeymoon so special. We will certainly return for the warm hospitality and natural beauty guests of yours are guaranteed!

My family enjoyed a week at this condo in late September. It was a very hot time of year to go, and also very quiet, which we liked. The condo was clean, well maintained and extremely well appointed. The fully loaded beer fridge on arrival after a long journey was a bit plus! The photos and other information provided on the VRBO web site were accurate. The owner was very helpful and provided a lot of supporting information. Local amenities were good.

We spent 8 glorious days in this unit, 4 adults and a 6 month old. Fully equipped condo, loved the patio, spent many hours outdoors taking in the beautiful ocean views. Fabulous complex to have a family re-union especiallly in May when most units are empty, piece of heaven. Great location! A plus was the hotel next door where from the beach you could enjoy Tuesday night Mexican Festival and fireworks, handy to book ATVing and other adventures. Close to shopping and charming/quaint San Jose old town. Short drive to Costco, Walmart and of course Cabo where one must take in a 45 min. glass bottom boat ride to Lands End. We would highly recommend staying 2 weeks so you have relax time and exploring time. We can't wait to go back!

Wow and wow. From begining to end this was by far the best vacation of my life and ive travelled to many places but this condo happen to keep my jaw on the floor, from watching whales, doulphins and marlins from the patio to snorkeling with the prettiest fish of the world i just felt like a god. I just cant thank Chris and Ginny enough for this memorable experience. Every day turned out to be 30 degrees the waves were strong and impressive (to a point were i had difficulty sleeping from there thunder like power) and the beach was perfect. It seams that Chris and Ginny thought of absolutely everything. The pools were also right on the money you have a cold pool to refresh you up when your too hot (which happens every day in cabo) and there is a heated pool (perfect for the late evening swims which we made happen everyday) and a jacouzzi. The best trip of my life for many reasons one of the biggest was that i got to watch hockey playoffs (Chris got full cable from canada) everyday at the condo (i was born in montreal and have lived in vancouver for 13 years now and both montreal and vancouver hockey teams dominated the first round of the playoffs). i keep thinking about how much i miss this place and wish some day to return. Chris and Ginny have found a little piece of paradise and i strongly recommended for anybody to taste. BEST TRIP EVER. Chris and Ginny Thank you Thank you and Thank you. Words just cant describe living like a god for 10 days. sincerely, Christian

Thank You! Chris and Ginny. A very beautifull and comfortable place to stay. Both Mona and I enjoyed the very well appointed home. Because everything we needed was there the resturants in San Jose didn't see us as much as we normally do when we travel. We enjoyed the great kitchen and outside cooking facilities which allowed us to create our own Mexican menu. As well because of the wonderfull layout of your home it allowed us to invite guests for dinner just as if we were at home. It was great to wake up in the morning to the sound of the Manta Rays flopping and the sight of Whales breach out in front of your deck. I would recomend this unit to anyone who wants first class accomodation and yet have the flexability of being self sufficiant and enjoying the great pools and the very quiet beach in front of the complex. Even on a rare rainy day we had no problem sitting and reading and enjoying the wonderful surroundings. Thanks again Chris and Ginny for allowing us to enjoy your second home. Chris and Mona

We have been fortunate & are very grateful to have stayed at this little piece of paradise over the past 7 yrs. "Million" dollar views from the spacious & relaxing condo (an expansive sandy beach, beautiful water with spectacular crashing surf, whales breaching off shore, dolphins & rays jumping, pelicans diving, distant lit up cruise ships passing by) are a few of the wonderful things we have enjoyed on our stays. The El Zalate complex is an idyllic oasis with first class amenities. It is ideally situated, close to nearby restaurants, grocery shopping, downtown San Jose & nearby Cabo. Thanks to Chris & Ginny for sharing their little piece of paradise with us.

We have been there twice and will not hesitate to go again. The complex is quiet and safe. There aren't many places where you can sit by the pool or on the incredibly huge condo deck and read a book, have a cocktail and not hear a thing besides the ocean or the person next to you. A few feet from your lounge chair you can walk miles and miles of white sandy beaches with very few people around, incredible!!! You can drive to Cabo in 30 minutes and have all the "touristy" attractions you want--the best thing is you can leave and return to your "shangra-la" in San Jose and completely relax. The view from the unit is beyond incredible, get up early for the sunsets! Amazing place, amazing condo...top notch accomodations---just need a private chef and a trainer and well.....that's an Oprah moment.

We highly recommend El Zalate with its excellent accommodations and great views from the balcony. We had no worries about bugs in the drinking water. Its purified by an ultra violet device attached to a separate kitchen tap. The facilities were the best...quiet bedrooms with comfy beds, walk in showers, well equipped kitchen, living area with TV and audio entertainment system (video rentals available nearby) and a large balcony with drink fridge, gas barbecue, large table, lounge furniture all with an awesome view of the beach and landscaped courtyard with swimming pools. Every few days an older gentleman would come by with fresh caught fish, prawns or scallops at reasonable prices. Grocery shopping is only a few minutes away and the restaurants only a five minute drive away in town were first class. The beach seemed to stretch out almost endlessly and we enjoyed a morning beach walk every day which was popular with everyone there. The roads are good and there are bus stops along the main road. We drove on some day trips to Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos and even did some shopping at Costco. All told, El Zalate is a great place to stay. Every day was pleasant, just like the warm, sunny weather.

Wow! Where do I begin? As I sit on the veranda overlooking the Pacific Ocean...eating fresh salsa from the corner store and sipping on an ice cold serveza from the bar fridge at Casa Lewis...I am finding it rather difficult to focus... being distracted by the ever soothing rolling surf and numerous whales breeching every so often... Life at Casa Lewis is amazing. It is stepping into a home away from home. The kitchen is ready to go with the essentials. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The linens are crisp and clean. The only choices you have to make is which veiw do you want to wake up to in the morning and what type of beer do you want? We have been ever so thankful over the past 6 years that mutual friends invited us along to El Zalate to enjoy the luxery and comfort of thier paradise. Any other questions you might have upon your arrival are covered in the detailed info sheets from the Lewis' that include thier own personal input along with others that come to visit. Totally takes the guess work out of where to shop, eat and play. We will return as long as we are permitted to. Gracias Chris & Ginny!

This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL place. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we had a fabulous time. The condo was impeccably clean when we arrived. The rooms are very spacious, and the balcony is great to go out and cook, eat, and hang out on. My wife and I are not drinkers, but there was a fully stocked beer/liquor fridge out on the balcony, which would be great for those who like to kick back. Each of the bedrooms has a very comfortable king size bed, and the bathrooms are very nice with large walk-in showers. Unfortunately, there was a fairly strong tropical storm while we were visiting, but we still had a great time hanging out in the condo and watching the storm. Apparently this happens sometimes during hurricane season, but that is the chance we took in visiting during that time of year, and it was still worth it. There is also a nice DVD and VHS collection (though we had trouble getting the VHS machine to work). Make sure that if you go out to rent at movie at Blockbuster (which is right down the road) that you rent a DVD that is compatible with the DVD player. Everyone at Blockbuster speaks English, so they can help you (in fact, almost everyone in town speaks English, and is very helpful). The complex itself is very well kept, with two very clean and spacious pools. We visited in the middle of October, and we barely saw anyone else the entire time we were there. We saw one other couple swimming in the pool during our entire stay. The beach itself is very nice and spacious, but the water seemed a little hazardous at times. This might have been due to the storm while we were there, however. There is a nice array of recreational beach items (i.e. snorkel gear, body boards, etc.) in the garage. We didn't get to use them really though because of the storm, and all the jelly fish that washed up onto the shore right after, but there are lots of items in the garage. This condo in particular is on one of the higher floors of the complex, and has SPECTACULAR views of the beach and ocean. We couldn't believe how nice the views were. Overall, we had a great time staying at El Zalate, and we would recommend Chris's condo to anyone thinking about visiting.
