Keywords: 2nd Home Vacation Rental
Located 3.67 miles up Cow Creek Road, 3200 sq. ft. of log home with 800 sq. feet of deck. You can see three mesas on a clear day. The size of each bedroom offers the feeling of great space for each person or couple. There is a seperate living space where the 3rd bedroom and bath are located. The loft is also a sleeping space. The Glorieta Mesa runs directly in front of the windows of the log home. The mesa changes in color as the day progresses and the weather changes. Should you be lucky enough to have a thunderstorm, there is a light show you will always remember. The sunsets and night skies are magnificent. I believe it is one of the most beautiful views in New Mexico.
There is a hammock for those who want to cuddle with a blanket and see the beauty of the night sky. There is also patio seating on the deck. A grill is available for fun outdoor dinners. There is wildlife to be seen. Deer, wild turkeys and a few larger wildlife may be seen. The larger wildlife is seldom seen but there are some. There is a full service kitchen in both the apartment and also the main upper log home. Trader Joes and Whole Foods in Santa Fe offer great supply shopping or the Clines Corners (Eldorado) Exit and up the road to the left has a very large and nice shopping area with a coffee bean store, etc. The drinking water is pure and has a wonderful taste. The water pressure is very good. Beds are very comfortable. The log home has a warm inviting feel. There is a gate at the entrance which can be locked. Pictures do not do the home justice. Very nicely decorated. Teal large Egyptian wool rug in living room area. This log home is very cozy.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1996
My late husband, age 53 died unexpectedly in 2009. We built this log home to be our retirement home. Initially, we were going to build a small log home but this turned out to be 5100 square feet, 3200 sq. ft. in use. It is quite beautiful. I now own two businesses on the East Coast and must live there for the time being. I have decided to rent this log home as a vacation rental and know all who rent it will be taken with the area and all it has to offer. And the view will amaze you. I believe it is one of the most beautiful views in New Mexico.
Why the Owner Chose Pecos
We built this home in this location because it is close to Santa Fe, New Mexico but gives an illusion of being secluded. The area is adjacent to a National Park and the views are spectacular.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We back up to a National Forest and Pecos, New Mexico is an amazing town with many celebrities living in the town. It even has a medical center along with quite a few good restaurants. It is a hikers paradise. And for those who love shopping, eating and art, Santa Fe is just down the road. Once you come down the mountain and spend 10 to 15 minutes driving out from Pecos to the main highway, you are 20 to 25 minutes from Santa Fe. So you have the best of both worlds, you have the feel of privacy and total relaxation and the nearness of a city for many events and great restaurants. Friends of mine have said that they love just being up at the log home reading and taking in the beautiful sunsets and beautiful star filled nights.

My wife, son and his family all enjoyed a week at this cabin. We had dozens of hummingbirds just outside our main window. The cabin is great, the view is excellent. It is easy driving from Pecos and close enough to a stream to catch some trout. We had a great week.
Owner response:Thank you, Gary. Loved having your family visit. Please come again.

We spent Christmas and New Year's here - it was fantastic. Beautiful view! The interior of the home is gorgeous - the nicest "log cabin" I've ever seen! We had a lot of snow which made it even more magical! We had a great family gathering, lots of good memories and lots of fun! We can hardly wait to visit here again, perhaps in the spring or summer.

We're a higher education couple looking for some peace/quiet and we found a terrific place that was exactly what we were loooking for. Beautiful views, just remote enough, and as much adventure as we were willing to take on....and then some. We found the kitchen perfect for what we wanted and the master suite was great. On one of our adventures (4 wheeling) we saw elk, a wolf, several deer and more birds than we could count. Our hostess could not be any better (although she lives out of state) and the "caretaker" is a source of limitless information. This is a NO RISK home...it's great.
Owner response:Thank you, Hershel. It was lovely to have you. I so appreciate that you loved it as much as I love it. We will keep the porch light on for you and your family. And thanks for your referral. Nikki

My two uddies and I have been coming to the Pecos area in the fall for 14 years. Of all the cabins we've ever rented this was our favorite. At 8200 feet in altitude you can see at least 50 miles away and the views from the deck and from the living room are indeed spectacular. Combine that with the big fireplace and spacious accomodations and you have a first in class cabin that we will be coming back to year after year.
