I'm a busy working woman based in Chicago. I don't get to enjoy my home away from home as often as I'd like, so I want to share this place with responsible vacationers to enjoy.
Why the Owner Chose Sawyer
It's hard to believe this place is just a short 1.5 hour drive from Chicago which makes it ideal for weekend getaways. The five acres that surround my house makes for a very private and quiet retreat from city living. It's a short drive to beaches and local attractions. I come here to relax-- and spend most of my time on the screened in porch overlooking the beautiful garden and wooded area that surrounds the property. It's ideal for entertaining large or small groups of friends for barbecues, dinner parties and all the exciting things to do locally.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The large, fully-furnished, screened-in porch is where guests spend most of their time while they visit. Great for cooking, relaxing and socializing. Great view of flower gardens and the woods.

What a wonderful home this is!! Very welcoming and comfortable. The layout of the house is great..we never bumped into each other..There were 5 adults. The bedrooms are huge with ceiling fans and plenty of big windows for natural light. The 2 living rooms and screened in porch are very peacful..I never got a chance to take a nap out on the porch but sure will do it next time!! This was the perfect house for us and we would rent it again. Thanks so much Sarah!!!!!

The house was well situated, in a very quite area but not too remote. The house was beautifully decorated. Had all the ammenites of home, Laura even had scented towels in each bedroom when we arrived. I think my wife's favorite part of the home was the den with the huge window that let in nature light as she read. There was even a giant bookself of various novels incase you forgot yours. My favorite part of the house was the screen in porch, where we ate most of our meals. And the kids really enjoyed the fireplace where we built a fire twice and made s'mores. (It was nice and cool at night.) The house was very clean and well maintained. The surrounding area has lots of antique stores and curiousity shops. House is located just a few miles from Warren Dunes State Park, and 1 1/2 hrs from downtown Chicago if you want to take a short day trip to museums or attractions. If you are considering this house, I highly recommend it. When we vacation in the area again we will rent the house again. The pictures don't do it justice. Laura was very helpful and accommodating.
