Nice Place To Stay For Family Of 4 And Our Dog

Guest: Joan (Sharon, MA)
Date of Stay: 08/13/11 Review Submitted: 09/02/11

We were very happy with this rental property. This is close enough to the beach that you can walk or bike there in about 15-20 minutes. This is how we spent several of our sunny vacation days. The property is on a small side street so my kids could ride bikes on the street without worrying about traffic. My son even met a boy his age in the neighborhood and they rode bikes and played together! Because this is near Hyannis we weren't far from where a movie was being filmed, or the mall, or the Cape Cod chip factory (where everyone seemed to hang out on a rainy day!) The house never felt small even though we had a teen, pre-teen and our dog with us. The laundry in the basement came in very handy! Donna was professional and easy to work with. If vacationing on the cape again, we'd return!

A Relaxing Week at the Shore

Guest: Maura (Medfield)
Date of Stay: 07/16/11 Review Submitted: 07/28/11

This was our third time back. We enjoy the warm comforts of home and the short distance to Craigsville beach and downtown Hyannis. The kitchen and deck are fully equipped and wonderful for entertaining. And we can spoil ourselves by sleeping in airconditioning at night. The home is clean and well maintained. We look forward to another chance to stay next year.

Beautiful Cape Cod Cottage

Guest: Rollie (Jamestown RI)
Date of Stay: 06/18/11 Review Submitted: 08/11/11

My husband and I just returned from living overseas (military) and wanted to get away before checking into our next assignment. We stay at VRBO's quite frequently and were once again not disappointed with our selection for a weeklong visit (actually it was so relaxing, we ended up staying three additional days). This is a beautiful cottage, fully stocked with everything from silverware to beach umbrellas. It is situated at the end of a very quiet block, just far enough from town to so it is quiet, but close enough to shopping and restaurants. My husband and I ran to the beach each morning, it’s about a mile. Although it is a town beach and you have to pay for parking, we carried our beach goodies w/ us (there was a rolling cart in the basement) to the beach and didn’t pay anything for parking! Not only was this one of the most wonderful rentals we’ve stayed at, its pet friendly. This was huge for us, coming from overseas where most hotels and B&B’s are pet friendly; it was such a benefit to be able to bring our blue and gold macaw (parrot). Thank you Donna, we look forward to visiting your property again soon!

Welcoming and Comfortable

Guest: Druanne (Staten Island, NY)
Date of Stay: 09/07/10 Review Submitted: 09/27/10

We concur with all previous comments and just wanted to add a few things. Donna and her team were very professional while also maintaining a personal touch, which we appreciated. We were two adults and three dogs (!) and are happy to report that the house and grounds always felt roomy enough. We loved the deck with its surrounding trees and starry sky overhead, took all our home meals out there. We used the grill twice (once we figured out how to light it -- luckily the manual was in the drawer) and it worked beautifully. We will reiterate that the kitchen was very well stocked with all manner of cookware, utensils, serving dishes and storage containers. We brought a corkscrew in self-defense but were pleased to find 2 already living in the kitchen drawer. On a neighborhood note, the Yoga and Wellness Center five minutes away in Centerville was friendly and accommodating for massages. And the Star Market grocery store off Old Craigville Road was excellent, had everything. We would highly recommend this property, as would our dogs. (One note from the dogs: while many beaches on Cape Cod allow dogs, Craigville Beach before Oct 15 isn't one of them so plan accordingly.)

A Romantic getaway

Guest: Bob and Fara (Goshen, New York)
Date of Stay: 08/21/10 Review Submitted: 08/31/10

The Hyannis/Craigville Beach house exceeded our expectations. This was our first experience renting a house at the Cape and we could not have been happier. The house was clean and inviting with a well stocked kitchen (and a blender for cocktails). We felt comfortable the moment we entered. The fireplace is a nice addition on a cold and rainey day. Thanks for the goodie bag-a wonderful touch! The house is centrally located to all Cape activities, but secluded enough to feel you are away from the many crowds. Don't miss out on the summer theater for an evening's entertainment. Take the fast ferry to Nantucket-it is worth the extra money. We look forward to returning in the future and would recommend the house to any of our friends.

Quaint and convenient

Guest: Brenda (Naugatuck, Connecticut)
Date of Stay: 08/14/10 Review Submitted: 08/30/10

We had a great time. When walking in the house, it was a lot brighter and more open than it appeared online. The cathedral ceiling in the living room and fully open stairway leading up to the bedrooms was a nice surprise. The new living room furniture was also really nice. The washer and dryer worked out really well, too. My husband and I found the atmosphere very relaxing and our kids enjoyed being able to play video games and get onto the internet. All worked out well with our dog as well. My son and I have very bad animal allergies and I brought along Zyrtec just in case, because I knew other animals had been there. We never used one pill! The house was very clean and you could never tell any dogs had been there. My husband and son also enjoyed how convenient and beautiful the beach was. The flowers in the window boxes only added to the quaintness of this house. You were very professional about everything and really take the vacationer's needs into consideration, which was much appreciated. We will definitely recommend this house to anyone going to the Cape with or without a pet.

Everything promised and more!

Guest: Caroline (Ossining, NY)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/19/10

This is a lovely home, very well-maintained and located on a quiet cul de sac just minutes from Craigville Beach. As others have said, the photo makes the house look much smaller than it actually is: there's a generous living room, kitchen and back deck and the two bedrooms are a fine size. The owners go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable -- we very much appreciated the welcome bag filled with essentials (and goodies!) like toothbrushes, washcloths, salt and pepper, plus playing cards, salt water taffy and jam. A very nice touch. The owners were also absolutely aboveboard and prompt in all their dealings with us. The kitchen is well-stocked with all those little niggly things one forgets -- like coffee filters, basic spices and dishwashing detergent. There's also a stash of board games that the kiddies enjoyed. The internet service is very fast and we were even able to stream movies in the evenings. Hyannis is a fine place to stay -- centrally located on Cape Cod, we were easily able to visit Plymouth Plantation (HIGHLY recommended for kids!), Nantucket, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown without spending too terribly much time in the car. And Craigville ended up being our favorite beach with the warmest water. No shark sightings here!

Hyannis Beach Cottage

Guest: Kit (Los Angeles, California)
Date of Stay: 07/24/10 Review Submitted: 08/03/10

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience at this lovely cottage. I rented it for a week with my niece. It's a little less than a mile to walk to Craigville Beach where I swam everyday in the ocean. My niece found a yoga class she attended everyday and said it was some of the best classes she has ever found. There's a pizza parlor on the way to and from the beach that advertises they have been voted 8 years in a row the best pizza and they were right. We sat outside at Baxter's, on the wharf in Hyannis in the evening in one of the most beautiful harbors wolfing down fresh lobsters and watching the boats coming in. We took a ferry to Nantucket and rode bikes around the entire island. Majestic! We ferried to Martha's Vineyard and walked through the beautiful towns of Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs and yes more lobster! We drove our car and visited the little hamlets of beach towns on Cape Cod both of us dreaming of owning our own summer home one day in Chatham, on Cape Cod. Quite beautiful. The back porch of this little cottage butts up against beautiful woods where in the evening my niece and I tired, sunburned but happy recalled our days events with glee and wonder. There is so much American History on these shores of Cape Cod and we felt and lived the traditions and cultures of the local people. Memories were made for my niece and I. We will never forget our time in Hyannis, in the little cottage in the woods.

Good choice

Guest: Kathy (No. Reading, MA)
Date of Stay: 06/26/10 Review Submitted: 07/10/10

My family spent the last week of June at this home. The house is very deceiving. It looks very small from the outside, but the interior, including the bedrooms, is very roomy and comfortable. The location is perfect, close to the beach and anywhere else you'd need to go - stores, restaurants, etc. The house is at the end of a small street - no traffic and very quiet. If we return to the cape next year, there will be need to look anywhere else to stay.

Date of Stay: 09/10/09 Review Submitted: 09/10/09

Our family of four with two pets stayed for one week. The house looks small on the outside, but was big on the inside. Excellent central location between Craigsville beach, downtown Hyannis, and the mall. The cul de sac was private, and good for our kids to ride their bikes. A very good value, and we give it a thumbs up. The only negative we could think of was there was no internet access, and my cell phone did not get reception. But isn't that what vacation is for?

Owner response:In response to John's comment regarding no internet access during his family's 2009 visit, we have added internet capability for the summer of 2010. As in past years, telephone capability provides for free calling within the US and Canada. Verizon cell coverage appears to be the best at our cape home.
