Washer, dryer, Jacuzzi, 2 decks, private parking.
All linens are organic. All cleaning products are natural.

Owner's Map of Lanesborough
The home was built in 1973 by The Riley's. They custom designed it along with a noted architect. It was their dream for many years to move from Long Island to "the country". They bought 144 acres, built the dream house, and moved to the beautiful Berkshires with their six children. After all the kids moved on to their own lives the house was much too big for two people so it was split it half, hence we have a rental unit. Their is a magical feel to "The Castle" on the hill. Maybe because of the river that runs underneath it or the serenity around it or the view from the large odd shaped windows...We call it the castle because when the younger children went to school that's what their friends called it.... "oh you live in that white castle on the hill". Now it is entrusted to the six children who recently renovated it for a rental income and keep half for their own vacation place. Everything about the land speaks of timelessness and a happy dream come true.

I can't say enough about this property! From the beautifully landscaped surroundings to the extra amenities, it was a perfect retreat from our hectic lives. Upon driving up to the house we passed many farms, lakes, ski resorts, and the entrance to Mount Greylock(highest mountain elevation in all of Massachusetts--amazing views on a clear day). Not to worry, this property is in the perfect location Lanesboro was perfectly central within the Berkshires. We were minutes from town and yet completely disconnected from it. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in town, or enjoy beautiful mountainous drives within 20min to other towns. Most times however we found ourselves staying in, enjoying many nights stargazing on the back deck with some wine. If you are looking for a wonderful retreat with all the luxurious extras (pillow-top mattresses, the softest of bed linens, wireless internet/cable tv, a Jacuzzi tub, and abundant lounge space) this is the place for you. It was a wonderful, relaxing experience, we can't wait to return!! Also thanks again Joanne for all the extras we requested! You were most accommodating!!

We came up for a long holiday weekend for a friends wedding. We had an azmazing time, the house was beautiful and surrounded by a great countryside. Nothing was better than eatting breakfast on the front porch outside in a nice breeze. We can not wait to come back up to Massachuttes! Thank you for sharing your home!

My family of 4 and our west highland terrier had a wonderful week in this contemporary "Castle in the Sky". We stayed in the house right after Christmas and were lucky enough to enjoy a good 2 foot snowstorm. Everything looked so beautiful out the large windows that surround the house with beautiful views of the mountains. The condo was clean and well-maintained. The living room was cozy with a large sectional couch, flat screen tv, and cozy fireplace. We couldn't wait to come home every evening, light a fire, and cuddle on the couch to watch a movie. The master bed was extremely comfortable and the other bedroom was across the house, so we had out privacy. Joanne was the BEST! She was extremely helpful and always available when a question arose. I would definately recommend this property to friends and family. We are looking forward to returning in the spring or summer.
