Welcome to the Aloha Beach House!

Panoramic Views of Maui, Lanai, Kahoolawe Islands!
There is Nothing Like being on the Beach on Molokai, a Piece of Paradise, an island apart from the rest! Come share old Hawaii and the beauty of this natural island where life moves at the slower, more gracious pace of another age.

Enjoy living at the beach! Our great East End weather is at your door step all year round and so is the beach, just a few steps away. Molokai is a special place as is our comfortable Hawaiian style home – come and let the cares and stress of your everyday life slip quietly away. The Beach Home is a spacious 1,600 square feet and sleeps up to 5 people in a master and guest bedrooms. Enjoy all the comforts of home – tropical furnishings, large kitchen, dining, living areas, and an ocean view lanai (deck), all the amenities included.

Our beach home rests on one of the very few safe and clear swimming beaches on Molokai, Waialua Beach, protected by an outer reef and our Northeast exposure. Become a beachcomber on our sandy beach or just relax and watch the world go by or take a spectacular sunrise beach walk or watch the night lights of Maui dance to the gentle sounds of the ocean. In the winter season you can sit and watch whales as they frolic playfully in the Channel.

You only have to step out the door and you are on beautiful Waialua Beach. This is the very best value for a stay on the beach anywhere in Hawaii. This relaxing beach home is perfect for a fun-filled family vacation or a place where you can become a part of the small beach village community of Waialua, or a place to just kick back.

Molokai has its share of breathtaking natural beauty, rain forests and deserted beaches. The longest white sand beach in Hawaii, Papohaku Beach, will probably have only your foot prints on it. However, there is no glitz or glamour here, just an island lost in time.

Shopping is done in small, friendly Kaunakakai, the largest town, and in the villages of Kualapu'u and Maunaloa. You can find just about anything you need from good wine to health food. There are two food markets and numerous other shops in Kaunakakai.

Molokai weather is wonderful year round, with temperatures averaging about 75°F and rarely going 6 or 7 degrees above or below.

Complimentary fruit basket, tropical flower arrangements and an additional coffee and tea basket are included.

We invite you to visit our unique beach front home on secluded Molokai and experience the ultimate and satisfying stay of a lifetime!

Aloha E Komo Mai - Welcome to Paradise!

Here's what FROMMERS has to say ... Excerpt from their famous guide book:
ALOHA BEACH HOUSE is rated 2 stars (very highly recommended)

"This is a great place to stay on Molokai. This Hawaiian-style beach house sits right on the white-sand beach of Waialua on the lush East End. Perfect for families, this impeccably decorated, two-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot beach house has a huge open living/dining/kitchen area that opens out to an old-fashioned porch for meals or just sitting in the comfy chairs and watching the clouds roll by....."

"Being able to share this magical place with you has been wonderful for us, really exceeding our expectations! The time has passed far too quickly! For us, this ‘path less traveled’ was one of the best choices in vacations that we have ever made."
Ray & Ellie ~ San Francisco, California

"We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, peaceful and inspiring setting for our long awaited vacation in Paradise. We so appreciated the thoughtfulness and care that clearly went into creating this little haven. We are sad to be leaving…..a week is not enough!"
Meghan ~ San Mateo, California

We are long time vacationers in the Hawaiian Islands and this was our first trip to the Friendly Isle of Molokai, and will not be our last. If you are looking for REST and RELAXATION this is the place to come. The house is located on a quiet stretch of the main highway. The property is well landscaped with tropical plants and flowers. A small path leads right to the secluded beach that is just steps away from the back lanai. The water is warm and shallow - perfect for snorkeling and swimming. You can walk the beach in both directions, picking up shells or viewing the thousands of crabs scurrying in the sand, without ever seeing another person. The house is well maintained, clean, and has the basic amenities for a comfortable stay. A very unique floorplan allows privacy as each bedroom has a separate entrance from the side lanai. The outdoor shower has a stunning view of the island of Maui and you can listen to the cardinals chirping as they scatter from tree to tree. The house also comes equiped with resident geckos, lots of birds, and a few friendly felines that enjoy your company and a bit of food and water. One cat in particular, nicknamed Molokat, will sit and enjoy the serene setting and the rhythm of the waves. This is a great setting for sitting down with a good book, playing a game of cards, or just watching the world go by. Catherine, the owner, is hospitable even though she is living on Kauai; she calls to check in and ask you how your trip is going. She has many great ideas for fun things to do, so don't hesitate to ask. This a great place to stay for any age as long as you do not require all the tourist attractions that other islands offer. The residents of Molokai are friendly and helpful, therefore; the reason for the island's motto: "The Friendly Isle." Watch out for the Molokai Princess Ferry ride - although it will get you to Lahaina for shopping, you may experience sea sickness. The seas can be rough, and although they tell you that the top of the ferry is the "snorkeling section," ride there anyway. Kaunakakai has all you need for meals and check out the Farmer's Market on Saturdays - fresh papayas and apple bananas are the best! Sights to see: Kalaupapa Lookout, St. Joseph's Church, Halawa Valley, and Big Wind Kite Factory in Maunaloa. For the most part, just sit at the Aloha Beach House - it is just as breathtaking!

Get Away From it All

Our extended family of five (the four of us plus a friend of my 17 year old son) spent 3 nights and 4 days in August at this beautiful, quiet, relaxing location on the east end of Moloka'i. The house is furnished beautifully, extremely clean and well-maintained with an interesting floor plan. The entrance is on the right side of the house. Go up a few steps and you're on a long, minty green outdoor lanai that connects the bedrooms, bathroom and living room. Each room has a separate lanai entrance and does not connect from the inside of the house. Perfectly safe and private. The separation of the rooms makes this great for two couples or a small family with teens. Everyone has their own personal space. There is an enclosed hot/cold shower outside just below the veranda on the oceanside of the house and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom. And the kitchen....what can I say? It's stocked with every pot, pan, utensil and kitchen appliance you can imagine! Just make sure you buy your groceries from Kaunakakai (and your bread from Kanemitsu Bakery) before heading out here (the town is 45 minutes away and there's only a small convenience store about 10 minutes away). If you like to fish or dive, the grounds in front of the house are fantastic! The boys caught a lot of fish (uhu, papio and kala) during our stay. Don't miss the drive to Halawa Valley, the view of Kalaupapa from the lookout, and Kualapu'u Cookhouse (LOVE their teriyaki pork!) If you're the"antsy" type and need something to do every moment of the day, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all and do absolutely nothing but relax, hang out at the beach, look at the stars (they're brilliant out here) and bond with nature, Moloka'i Beach House is waiting for you!

Real Moloka'i

Guest: D. T. (Switzerland)
Date of Stay: 08/18/11 Review Submitted: 09/10/11

The Aloha Beach House is a very spacious, conveniently equipped, and romantic getaway on the eastern shore of Molokai Island – located directly next to the sandy beach. We spent our first week as husband and wife in the Aloha Beach House and were fascinated by the uniqueness and the charm of the cottage. It is a place were we experienced the real, authentic Hawai’i of the days before mass tourism. Besides the possibility of enjoying the quietness and slower pace of Moloka’i when sunbathing on the house’s lawn right next to the beach, there are numerous other beautiful beaches, romantic bays, and untouched places in short distances to the house. Despite the fact that Moloka’i is quite a small island, it features a great variety of different climatic areas, such as the tropical and lush eastern and northern shores or the rather dry western part of the island with its long sandy beaches. Certainly, one of the island’s most precious treasuries is its breathtaking and completely untouched north shore, which can best be explored by a scenic boat trip. We are very grateful for having had the possibility to spend a week in this wonderful cottage; special thanks to host Catherine Rietow, who helped us in making our honeymoon so unique.

Wonderful escape!

We just returned from the Aloha Beach House and can't say enough about how much this unique home away from home made for a perfect getaway! Highlights include: location, location, location! You are steps from the beach and the best snorkeling in Molokai... next to several ancient Hawaiian fish ponds, and we even swam with sea turtles! Jogging in the morning on the beach at sunrise, the outdoor shower overlooking Maui and the city lights of Maui at night are magical. Molokai captures the spirit of Old Hawaii. If you truly want to escape, this place is it!

Aloha Beach House - You'll love the outdoor shower!

Guest: Pleadez (Davis, CA)
Date of Stay: 05/18/10 Review Submitted: 06/05/10

If you're planning a trip to Moloka'i, do some research about the island so you can decide whether to choose the West side or the East side, as they are very different. I was set to stay in one of the condos on the West side of the island, but then read a posting for the Aloha Beach House, which said... Waialua has the safest, cleanest beaches in Moloka'i... I wondered what that meant, so I did the research and chose Waialua. I'm glad I did, and I'm also glad I chose the Aloha Beach House for our week in Moloka'i. The condos on the West side and some of the houses on the East side are less expensive, but do the research on the water clarity and safety. Also, the West side is very dry and hotter than the East side. For a little extra cost, the Aloha Beach House was well worth it; especially to be steps away from the beach. The house looks and FEELS just like the pictures shown on this website. You can also see pictures by typing Aloha Beach House Molokai into your web browser. It has wonderful Hawaiian energy. Just steps away from the ocean, very clean, well kept landscape, and a unique floor plan that we (four of us) really liked. The house has a large claw bathtub in the bathroom and an OUTDOOR shower. The outdoor shower was one of the best amenities of the house. You can see the ocean as you shower, and the house has "on-demand" hot water, so there was never any worry about no hot water. When I found the house, I called the owner and we talked for at least an hour. She was very helpful in telling me about the difference between the West and East sides of the island, and things to see and do in Moloka'i. There were absolutely no problems with this rental...from the time of my phone conversation with the owner to the day we locked up and headed home. The owner even called us to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. You'll be happy; we were!!!
