Thanks for sharing your home with us. It has been a great week for our family. Dusty was very helpful getting us prepared for our visit. Sherry and Jamie were very friendly and always offered any help we needed. We LOVED the pool. We've rented many homes, but yours has been the best stocked. Thanks again! God Bless **Comments were taken from the House Guest BookDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed in this house for a few nights as one stop on our honeymoon trip. The area is nice and the neighbors were very friendly. The photos of the house could stand to be updated, as the furniture and bedding is not the same as what was in the house when we were there. It was much older-looking. We also saw 2 black snakes in the back yard - which is probably part of life in that area, but being "city slickers" we didn't know what kind they were (and I'm a giant chicken) so we opted to keep the back door locked, which meant we were unable to use the grill or the pool. :-( However, there was someone who came almost daily to clean the pool in case we wanted to use it. There was a bottle of wine and some muffins upon our arrival, and when we left, we left Nita some candy that we brought from Chicago as a thank you gift for letting us stay in her home. There was a clerical error on Nita's end when we booked, which resulted in us being able to rent the home at a discounted rate. She was kind enough to honor the lower price, which was very nice of her. In fact, she was nothing but sweet during the entire process. I believe she lived next door, and wish she had come over to introduce herself, but otherwise we had a lot of fun and made good use of the maps and the baskets of local brochures, as well as the grocery store discount card. We loved staying away from the chaos of Charleston (being from a big city ourselves, it was nice to have a little peace & quiet) but Charleston was only 20 minutes away by car so we definitely didn't miss out on anything.Owner response: Firstly, I would like to thank you for the candy that you left for us… it was so sweet of you to think of us and you kind comments regarding your stay. Secondly, I checked my note and do not recall any “clerical error on Nita's end when we booked, which resulted in us being able to rent the home at a discounted rate” (per your comment). We have given discount as a jester of kindness for one reason or another from time to time… but have been rethinking this practice because somehow it comes back and bites us and I end-up feeling unappreciated of our generosity. I would like to reply to some issues you pointed out. The home is on an acre plus, we take pride in our landscaping and maintaining all aspects of the home… on occasion, outside critters will find their way through the fence… and we have had an significant about of rain this year that has cause some critters to adjust their normal habits… but we are diligent with up keep. We are always adding to the home with the season changes… landscaping, furniture, dinnerware, pictures, sheets and towels. We are going to be updating some photo after we have a break in our bookings. I do not live next door but often do stop by when it preplanned and our guests when they requested to meet us. We respect our guest privacy and family time. Again, we take pride in our homes cleanliness and provide extras like fresh baked muffins, wine, coffee, teas, maps and area information… we want to make our guests feel at home during their stay. Thank you for your visit and appreciate you choosing us for your vacation needs.
