Time Alone- Spring Break!

Guest: Todd D.
Date of Stay: 03/29/12 Review Submitted: 03/31/12

The cabin was more than wonderful . Very clean and tastefully decorated. The view of Pike's Peak was spectacular and gorgeous. We enjoyed just hanging out in the cabin and soaking in the hot tub. It's amazingly private - something hard to find in a mountain cabin - but still conveniently close to Divide and Woodland Park. So many details have been so nicely done in this cabin both inside and out - it's just a very lovely place. Brad and Laura were very helpful and prompt in communication and made us feel very welcome.

Owner response:Thanks so much for the great review. We're glad you chose Mountain Sun cabin for your Spring break getaway! Brad and Laura

A Wonderful Place - The Perfect Getaway

Guest: Rich (Arvada, CO)
Date of Stay: 02/10/12 Review Submitted: 02/14/12

This place is wonderfully decorated. We felt at home:0) The house has modern furniture and new appliances. The views are spectacular. The pictures don't really give you an idea of how amazing the views really are there. We loved how the house had everything that you could possibly need (spices, blender, mixer, robes, board games, dvds and a washer and dryer). We loved the large tv and the sound system was great. We loved that the house was very private. We felt like it was just us in the middle of a beautiful forest but loved that we were still so close (just minutes away) from great restaurants, grocery stores and shops in town. The owners of the home (Brad and Laura) are so nice and really went the extra mile to make our visit special. We really enjoyed the hot tub. It looks to be brand new and the controls were easy to use. We loved the extra little things like all the bird houses around the property. We love to bird watch. We loved that the home used solar energy. We are already planning our next visit to this wonderful home.

Owner response:Thanks so much for your kind words! We're glad that you had some time away together and we look forward to your return. Brad and Laura

Romantic Getaway 1/9/12-1/11/12

Guest: Janell (Colorado Springs)
Date of Stay: 01/09/12 Review Submitted: 01/11/12

My husband and I are thrilled with our two night stay at this cabin. It is thoroughly modern and clean. Beautifully located. Completely stocked for every eventuality. the pictures on the website accurately reflect the appearance, although I would add that you can see the back of Pike's Peak from the windows! We loved the fireplace and hot tub. It was a perfect place to unwind and reconnect just as a couple during his R & R from his 9 month Army deployment. However, we did note games and movies in the cabin that our teen and preteen kids would have enjoyed! I was especially grateful that Brad and Laura were willing to work with me if my husband's R & R dates changed, so that we could take advantage of our deposit at some date! We highly recommend Mueller's State Park, and Florrisant Fossil Beds for snowshoeing and hiking. We also highly recommend McQuinty's Pub and Grill in Divide! Cripple Creek has some great sights and tours as well for varying age groups. All in all, this was perfect for us and would suit families, as well.

Owner response:We're so glad you had some romantic time together after so much time apart! Thanks for choosing Mountain Sun cabin and for the great review. Brad and Laura

We selected Mountain Sun due to the location and external hot tub but were simply blown away by the beauty of the cabin and surroundings. To top off the experience, Brad and Laura's attention to detail was second to none. Everything anyone could want or need was available and they were even so kind as to make sure all was acceptable once we arrived. The cabin is amazing and very "green" which was wonderful. The entire property was spotless and very well maintained. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Christmas Family Vacation

Guest: squeakie (Fredericksburg)
Date of Stay: 12/22/11 Review Submitted: 12/31/11

We had the best time. We loved the place the property was so nice. The house had everything we needed. The Christmas tree was nice to have. We enjoyed the views and peace and quiet!! Everything was nice and clean. The house was up to date and the furniture was nice and clean and up to date. They had made our trip a nice one. The location for us was perfect. We love to be out and not be around alot of people so we can relax and have quiet. The photos on the web site were nice. the only thing was coming in at night we missed the turn didnt see the road sign. It could be marked better but that would require a big sign and we all know thats not always possible. All was great!!

Owner response:We're so glad that you had a great Christmas vacation at Mountain Sun cabin. Thanks for staying with us. We'll talk to the county about a bigger road sign! Thanks, Brad and Laura

Simply Perfection

Guest: Marci H. (Denver, CO)
Date of Stay: 11/23/11 Review Submitted: 01/10/12

As soon as I read this property's description, I couldn't wait to see it. Little did I know, it would be even better than I imagined! We stayed here for our annual Thanksgiving getaway. Everything we needed was right there. This spacious house is in a secluded location with an amazing view of Pikes Peak. It was wonderful for the two of us (we live in a 800-sq. ft. apartment) to spread out... and we barely even went upstairs where there was another bathroom and three more beds! It would be a great space for a family with children (lots of baby gear available) or 2-3 couples. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the updated, well-appointed kitchen (and grill on the patio). We always bring a few odds and ends from our kitchen "just in case" a rental property doesn't happen to have everything we need. The only thing we had to pull out of our stash was parchment paper for our biscuits! There was an ample supply of everything we needed. The owners thought of everything- there was even a cooler and freezer blocks for us to use. We appreciated being able to relax in front of the fireplace- reading, playing one of the board games provided, watching satellite TV or just plain vegging out in the cozy environment. We took full advantage of the hot tub in the mornings, afternoons AND evenings. The view of the night sky was stunning. Living in a city, you forget how many stars are out there... we could even see the Milky Way. Turning off the hot tub jets afforded us the opportunity to listen to the quiet only broken by howling of coyotes (and the occasional car). It was a real bonus to stay in a solar-powered home and we found ourselves conserving power AND water more than we normally would at home... and have continued to do so in our daily lives! The area was really beautiful and convenient. We enjoyed just relaxing in the cabin, but also loved taking a tour (reservations required) at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center and a few short hikes at Mueller State Park. There is a small grocery store in the town of Divide- it has all of the basics needed to cook meals in the cabin. There is also a gas station and a few small restaurants and shops. The owners were super responsive and helpful when I called with a question about the sound system for the TV. We felt so at home because of the attention to detail and comfort provided by the owners in this home. We will stay here again and have already referred friends!

Owner response:Thank you so much for choosing Mountain Sun cabin for your Thanksgiving getaway. We're so glad you had a great stay. Thanks for the referrals too! Brad and Laura

This cabin was everything I wanted and more! The pictures and description do not do it justice because it was much better in person! Super clean, well built and maintained...loved the decor. First experience with solar power and now we are looking into putting it at our house! They truly thought of everything you could possibly need while staying there. If you have very small children you won't have to lug all that extra equipment with you. I actually loved cooking in the gorgeous kitchen and didn't mind doing laundry! We had planned a lot of activities but ended up just spending a lot of time in the cabin playing games, watching movies (all provided), exploring the property and enjoying the views!! I would definitely recommend this house and look forward to coming back soon. I have a great memory of it already because my boyfriend proposed to me during our trip at the cabin!! The owners are very helpful with anything needed (just wished we could have met them in person). Do not hesitate to rent this property!!

We had such a great time staying here. Everything was perfect!! This was a very child friendly house, as we took a 3 year old and 1 year old. They had a closet full of toys and games that our kids loved to play with, as well as all of the necessities including a highchair, booster seat, baby gate, pack and play, etc. There is so much open space around the house to hike and walk around. There are also lots of attractions nearby for the kiddos or outdoor activities. We will DEFINITELY be back!! Thanks Brad & Laura!

Owner response:Thank you so much for choosing our vacation rental. We do try to provide all of the baby/child items because we know it's alot to bring. Hope to see you back soon! Brad and Laura

Best Cabin in Divide

Guest: Devin (Portland Oregon)
Date of Stay: 10/13/11 Review Submitted: 10/19/11

We rented the cabin for a long weekend last weekend and it was the most wonderful cabin we have stayed in by far. The cabin has wonderful views of the mountains and valleys. Its location is perfect. when you get out to the cabin it feels like your a million miles away from the loud busy world. Its so peaceful and quiet. Its decorated wonderfully to match the rustic outdoors yet has all the modern conveniences of our own home. The kitchen was wonderful and spacious. The huge windows in the living room let in so much light and the view was amazing....We spent every night on the porch or in the hot tub. We have stayed at many cabins in the area and this one by far was the best. We will be making this our vacation getaway every time we are in the area. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Its the best place to let go of the real world and slip away for a few days and relax in complete comfort. The owners are wonderful. Brad and Laura were on vacation in Germany and still all arrangements were made with no problems at all. A wonderful stress free getaway who could ask for more.

Want to say if you are considering this cabin - don't hesitate! It is a great spot in the mountains. Very well kept cabin with great comfy beds and seating for several people. Beautiful, beautiful view out the huge window when you enter the cabin is breathtaking. Hiked the property with the cows and got a good work out! The kitchen was fun to prepare food in with amazing views out of every window and high quality appliances. We will definitely be returning as I think we'll have two boys at the academy soon! Thank you Brad and Laura.

Brad and Laura, Thanks for sharing your incredible cabin with us. There really are too many posiitves to list - suffice it to say, the cabin is perfect, new, clean, roomy, well stocked - our 2 boys loved the loft and our daughter was in heaven with private bedroom upstairs. The view of Pikes Peak off the deck while drinking coffee and watching the hummingbirds really was a treat each morning. Can't imagine a better location - close to anything one would want to do in that part of Colorado!! We will be back!! Derek and Suzy Gullett and family

This Property Exceeds Expectations

Guest: Greg (Wisconsin)
Date of Stay: 08/22/11 Review Submitted: 08/28/11

Our party of four chose this property because of its location to Mueller State Park and other hiking trails in the area. While the pictures posted provide an excellent summary of the benefits of this property, our group was especially impressed with the condition of the house. During our stay, we commented several times about the thought that was put into the house’s construction and how well maintained it is. The house is also well stocked with supplies making for a comfortable stay. In summary, the house exceeded our expectations! This house will not disappoint!

Great Cabin and Great Trip

Guest: Greg (Jenks, OK)
Date of Stay: 07/28/11 Review Submitted: 08/01/11

Brad and Laura, Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin this last week. I was up there with my dad and brother for a guys fishing trip. The cabin was great and had everything we needed plus more. The quality of the cabin was superb, and you obviously took pride in building it and equipping it. The location was fantastic -- far enough off the road to get away from everything but close enough to Woodland Park that it was a quick trip anytime we needed to go to town. We saw elk in the fields below the cabin every day (thanks to the spotting scope that you have available) and we also saw some large mule deer (several nice bucks) and elk on the cabin property as we were driving in and out in the mornings and evenings. Plus the hummingbirds on the front porch were always entertaining. We really enjoyed fishing in ElevenMile Canyon and at the Dream Stream. Both areas were beautiful and had plenty of fish. This was definitly the nicest cabin that we have stayed in, and I hope we can make it back there again sometime in the future. Thanks again, Greg Seefeldt

Can't Wait to Stay Again!

Guest: Mike and Kendi (Clive, IA)
Date of Stay: 07/25/11 Review Submitted: 07/30/11

Just returned from 3 fantastic nights at Mountain Sun cabin, and are already looking for possible return dates. This property is even better than described- 35 beautiful acres nestled just off highway 24. Was a perfect "home base" for our active sightseeing schedule- a short, scenic drive to Colorado Springs, Cripple Creek, or whitewater rafting through Wilderness Aware Outfitters in Buena Vista (Highly recommended!). Next trip, we'll schedule more "down time" to enjoy the peace and serenity offered at the cabin. The home is incredibly well maintained, and Brad and Laura have thought of everything you may need during your stay. We grilled out two of the nights, - not many restaurants allow you to take in the incredible Pikes Peak view throughout your meal. Plenty of room for us and our 13 and 10 year old kids- they loved the home as much as we did, and enjoyed hiking the property, playing cards, and relaxing on the fantastic covered deck. Again, the cabin is even better than advertised, and is definitely one of the all around best places we've stayed! Thanks Brad and Laura for sharing this gem with us!!

Our family of 5 had a fantastic time staying at this incredible modern cabin. It's perfect for a mt. retreat! Has all the amenities anyone would ever need. Convenient to many attactions and downtown shopping areas. Located in a peaceful and serene mt. area and close to hiking and biking trails. The cabin has super cute decor, a full kitchen, spacious (two queen rooms and one loft of two twin beds), clean and super comfortable with TV entertainment center etc. The views from the decks are truly breath-taking. We enjoyed every minute here and plan to return again. Laura and Brad are wonderful hosts and helpful with anything you may need. It's truly a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain area!!

The rental is even better than the pictures show! Location was ideal...short commute to amenities and activities but also a secluded home with "Wow, what a view". Although we missed meeting Brad & Laura, they were easily accessible by phone to answer our questions. Home was super clean, beds were comfy, lots of little touches and helpful info for tourists. I would recommend this place without hesitation. (Although, I'll be a bit upset when it is fully booked, the next time I want to visit, because you read this review:) Brad & Laura, Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

Stunning home in a beautiful location.

Date of Stay: 07/10/11 Review Submitted: 07/23/11

We stayed at Mountain Sun Cabin in July 2011 for 6 days. Its a beautiful home, very modern, light and spacious. Everything you could possibly need is there. Our children (11 and 8) loved all the board games that were provided. The hummingbirds which come to the feeders on the deck are really entertaining and unique, as was the large woodpecker that tried (and failed) to have the hummingbird food! We also saw chipmunks, blue jays, squirrels and elk wandering past the house. The views out of the stunning front windows are amazing, at any time of the day. We had some pretty impressive thunder storms which were great to watch. The house was spotless and obviously well maintained. The beds were really comfortable. Although the house is near a few others, you cant see anyone or any other houses. Its a very peaceful and quiet location. I would say that its quite far off the beaten track and that you need a fairly sturdy vehicle, especially in winter. Divide is fairly close for essentials but we found that Woodland Park, which isnt far away, has everything you could need. This includes the Donut Mill where I had the best doughnut I have ever tasted. All in all, Mountain Sun Cabin is a beautiful home in an amazing location. I would highly recommend it to anyone, its a star!

Owner response:Nicola, thanks so much for choosing Mountain Sun cabin for your holiday! Thanks for the great review and we hope you'll be back. Brad and Laura

Spectacular house - spectacular view

Guest: Sally T. (London, UK)
Date of Stay: 07/04/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

We completely agree with the previous reviews. We stayed in this lovely house for the last 6 days of a 2 month road trip and it was a great place to relax, enjoy some amazing scenery and at the same time visit attractions in the area. It's in one of those perfect locations - close to the restaurants and stores of Woodland Park and yet in such a peaceful and scenic setting. Both Manitou Springs for Garden of the Gods and the Pike's Peak Cog Railway (highly recommended) and Florissant Fossil Beds NP (great hikes) are a short drive away, but the view from your own deck is so wonderful it's tempting not to move too far, and watching birds and wildlife from the deck was a great way to start and end each day. The house is immaculate and beautifully designed and fitted out, and had absolutely everything we needed, and the owners are super-friendly and helpful. We'd come back in a flash!

Owner response:Thank you Sally for the great review and for staying with us. I wished we could have meet you. Hopefully we will the next time you are here in the US. Brad and Laura

Great View!!!

Guest: Kim (Rison, AR)
Date of Stay: 06/26/11 Review Submitted: 07/03/11

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The house and grounds are beautiful. The house was extremely clean and the owners seemed to have thought of everything. The kids enjoyed playing board games (there's a closet full of stuff to do) and watching the hummingbirds on the deck. The master bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor. Upstairs there is a large loft with a second bedroom off of that along with a second bathroom. Both bedrooms have queen size beds and the loft has two twin beds. The loft is big enough you could probably set up an air mattress or crib if needed. We saw a small herd of elk the last evening we were there. The scope comes in real handy if you forgot to bring binoculars like we did. If you want to get away from it all but still be relatively close to civilization this is a great place. Only a few minutes drive to Woodland Park where there is a couple of grocery stores, a wal-mart, and fast food as well as sit down restaraunts. Colorado Springs is just a little bit farther but the drive is beautiful. You're not far from Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, and the Cliff Dwellings. Great place to stay where you can make some fond memories!

Owner response:Kim, thanks so much for the great review! We hope you can visit Colorado again sometime soon and stay with us again! Brad and Laura

Awesome Secluded Cabin

Guest: Cat (Needville, Texas)
Date of Stay: 06/12/11 Review Submitted: 06/18/11

We really loved the cabin. We have traveled to Colorado for many years and this is one of our favorite cabins. The day of arriving Laura called to make sure everything was ok in the cabin which was very thoughtful. I loved the fact that we were close to town but yet felt very secluded. The view was beautiful and the best one yet for us. The cabin is very beautiful and cozy. Very clean!! It was just right for the 6 of us. We really enjoyed watching the humming birds as well and having the telescope was a plus. I recommend going to the Garden of the Gods and do not recommend going to the Cliff Dwellings unless you have small children. I definitely will refer this cabin to all my family and friends.

Owner response:Thanks Cathy for the great review! Thanks for the referrals also. We hope that you will stay with us again on your next CO vacation. Brad and Laura

The mountain home was exceptional. Super clean accomodations, magnificant views of Pikes Peak and surrounding area, plenty of on sight hiking and easy to get to 4 wheel trails and fishing, but away from the traffic and house is secluded. Easy to get to town for food supplies or eating out. Everything was ready and waiting for our arrival. We have recommended this property to our friends already and to all who read this. Brad and Laura were great to get to know! We plan to visit again.

We had a relaxing and restoring weekend staying in this lovely, well-designed home. We watched birds, the night sky, and clouds soaring by on the wind. It is quiet and secluded, but close enough to go to Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, or nearby hiking areas like Mueller Park and The Crags. The view is from Pike's Peak to Sentinel and includes Raspberry Mountain. The property was very clean and has all of the items needed for cooking and grilling, and some surprises that display Brad and Laura's thoughtful consideration of what guests will enjoy. We hope to return!

My family rented this home in order to take our son to see the Wolf Center. The house is minutes from the Wolf Center and just far away enough from noise and town. It was wonderful, we felt right at home. I really enjoyed having a lot of land to hike and ride bikes on with my son while my husband had business calls at the home. The views are amazing- so much better than the photographs on this site, the house was very clean and well equipped. My son and I suffer from multiple food allergies so we used the kitchen for every meal. I miss this house, the quiet, all the land around it, the beds, the views. Our family had hoped to return this summer but it was already booked up!! We hope all future guests treat this home with respect because we'd love to return!

Beautiful view and secluded! What more can you ask for?

Guest: Mel (Friendswood, Tx)
Date of Stay: 04/09/11 Review Submitted: 04/13/11

We stayed in the house for only 3 days but as soon as we walked in it felt like we were home. I wanted a place with views and that was secluded but close enough to everything. After months of looking on VBRO and other sites I kept going back to this place. I emailed Brad and he got back with me very quickly and everything was set. Even though we left our kids behind, this place would be great for families! If you are like me and can't decide because there are so many choices, really- look no further. You will not be disappointed. You can see Pikes Peak right from the living room and the stars at night are unbelievable! Everything is close by, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Manitou Springs, Seven Falls, Cheyenne Zoo and much more. The house was super clean too and bed in master was quite comfortable! We loved this place and can't say enough good things about it.

Owner response:Mel, Thanks for choosing Mountain Sun Cabin and for the great review! Hope you can come back sometime. Brad and Laura

This location of this house affords stunning views of Pikes Peak in the daytime and equally stunning star-studded skies at night. The huge glass windows in the living room are what really formed the character of this place for me. (I have to say that the pictures don't do the place justice!) Apart from that, the decks outside, the cozy bedrooms and the well-equipped kitchen make for a very comfortable stay in a secluded yet convenient location. I would definitely stay here again, and hope to see the promised elk, which I unfortunately missed out on this time.

Owner response:Thank you so much for choosing our vacation rental for your girls get away and for a great review. We would love to have you back. Thanks, Brad and Laura

Stunningly secluded, sunny and solar home has it all - we felt like it was ours. It's private enough to feel like you're deep in the wilderness and close enough to get to the best of Colorado. Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, etc... all within an hour. The house has everything including great snow toys -Brad and Laura provide tubes, saucers, snowshoes and exceptional hospitality. The underfloor heating and fireplace make the cabin extremely cosy. We found elk, mountain lion, and what looked like rabbit tracks in the snow. There's even a spotting telescope! We'll be back!

Owner response:Thank you for staying with us. I'm glad you had a great time. We enjoyed meeting you and your family. Brad and Laura

Luxury Family Vacation Home

Guest: Mark (Amarillo, Texas)
Date of Stay: 10/02/10 Review Submitted: 10/12/10

This home is fabulous. Perfect location -- secluded up in the mountains with magnificent views and on-site hiking, but only 10 minutes from Woodland Park (Walmart, Starbucks, restaurants, etc.) and 30 minutes from Colorado Springs. Easily accessible -- less than 2 miles off 60mph US highway. The photos on VRBO do not do the home justice. The quality is outstanding -- granite counters, beautiful wood cabinets and bedroom furniture, flat screen TV, Blu-ray player, surround sound, wifi, stainless appliances, front-loading full size (not stacked) washer and dryer, wonderful gas range and oven, wood and tile floors in living/dining and kitchen, switch-operated gas fireplace, high-end bathroom fixtures with tile showers. The living room has floor-to-ceiling 20+ foot windows with stunning views of trees, meadows, and Pikes Peak. Brad and Laura provided everything we needed and more -- even accommodating our 10-month-old twins with an extra pack-n-play, high chair, and baby backpack (for hiking). The walk-in closet in the master bedroom was large enough to fit two pack-n-plays -- perfect to keep sleeping babies closed off from light and noise, but close by for easy access. It was as if we had an extra small bedroom just for them. The house has a great supply of baby toys and books, board games (for both kids and adults), and DVDs. In short, I highly recommend this home. We will absolutely return.

Owner response:Thanks Mark and Kendra for staying with us! Thanks for the great review. We enjoyed meeting you and your family and we hope to see you again soon. Mark, sorry Baylor lost! Brad and Laura

Excellent Clean Home with Breathtaking Views - August 2010

Guest: Tammy (Runnells, Iowa, USA)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/15/10

We took our two boys (14 & 11) to see the mountains of Colorado for the first time. This home was home away from home. Cozy, Comfortable, and CLEAN!! It is in a great central location to all the activities we did. We wish we wouldn't have planned so many things to do so we could've spent more time exploring/hiking the property. It was very relaxing to come back after a busy day and cook supper and enjoy the breathtaking views of Pikes Peak and surrounding mountains. We can't wait to go back. The kitchen had everything we needed in it. The beds were very comfortable. Brad and Laura have thought of everything, they are very nice people and helpful. We enjoyed having our morning coffee watching the hummingbirds on the deck and were lucky enough to see the Elk in the driveway and front yard. This is an EXCELLENT house to rent, very well maintained and CLEAN! We didn't want to leave, it felt like home. The things we did and would highly recommend: United States Air Force Academy, Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, United States Olympic Complex, Garden of the Gods, Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine Tours, Hiking in Mueller State Park, Hiking to Pancake Rocks, The Wineary at Holy Cross Abbey,White Water Rafting in Big Horn Canyon with Whitewater Adventures, shopping in Old Colorado City, Woodland Park, Manitou Springs. Cripple Creek didn't have many shops for shopping it is a lot of casinos. We wish we would've gotten reservations earlier to go on the Open Mining tour in Victor, with the great big trucks. I can't say enough great things about this home, we will be going back and staying here again. THANK YOU Brad and Laura for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

Owner response:Thanks Tammy, We enjoyed visiting with you and your family, we hope you can come back soon. Brad and Laura

This cabin really is a beautiful custom home with an AWESOME view! We stayed here for 5 days in July and it was perfect! We enjoyed cooking and eating breakfast each day on the front porch which has an gorgeous view of Pikes Peak. The hummingbirds were there with us each day. My daughter (6 years old) kept saying that she thought this cabin used to be a church because it had such magnificent floor to ceiling windows with a view from every one of them. It was very easy to get to all the tourist attractions from this cabin, yet you were secluded when you were home. We have rented several rentals from this website with much success, but I have to say this cabin was the most well stocked cabin. It really did feel like home away from home. I highly recommend this rental and I assure you we will be back. Thanks for providing such a great vacation home!

The mountain resort was truly magical. The house had great views and an aura of serenity surrounding it. We did many Colorado activities but our family enjoyed coming back every night for our family time. We played board games, enjoyed barbecuing, making s'mores, and sitting on the porch. The house was big enough to accomodate our six family members and give them their own space, yet small enough to promote family time.

Date of Stay: 06/26/10 Review Submitted: 07/02/10

This wasn't our first stay in the Woodland Park area, but it was the best vacation home we have stayed at. All of the facilities were first class, from the well stocked kitchen to the very fast wi-fi internet connection to the furnishings. The beds were very comfortable, which is a huge factor in vacation rentals. Also, I must say that the views from this property were breathtaking. Even with the thunderstorms, we got to see a double rainbow over Pikes Peak, and sunset reflections that blew us away. We took lots of great pics! Overall this was an excellent experience for us, next time we may even bring the kids!

Owner response:Thank you Janet. Of course we would love to have you back again and we would love to meet your kids, too! Brad and Laura

Breathtaking home to match a breathtaking view!! The drive up the driveway is enough to let you know you're on your way to a heavenly adventure! Our stay at Brad and Laura's mountain home was very spontaneous having left Steamboat not knowing where we wanted to spend our last few nights. Finally we chose the Colorado Springs area, but wanted something out of the city where we might see some wildlife. We arrived and were greeted almost immediately by Brad who welcomed us warmly, shared much info about the area with us and left us to explore on our own (I'm sure with a little whispered prayer that we'd get a glimpse of the wildlife we hoped like we hoped). I could hardly focus on the info Brad was providing because I couldn't take my eyes off the amazing view over Pike's Peak! There was still snow on the ground, but the day was sunny and the sky Colorado Blue. The view is absolutely indescribable here!! The two teens began their adventure right away, following some "wolf" tracks down the hill in front of the home. Mom thinks they were more likely coyote. They found bear scratches on a couple trees, but saw no bear (an answer to mom's prayers). ;-) They also found lots of scat, but no live animals. The birdfeeder provided many bird sightings for us, the cupboards were stocked with the basics needed to help us get by until we could get to the store and the washer and dryer kept us from having to lug home dirty laundry! Thanks again!

Owner response:Thanks for taking excellent care of our home. We would love to have you back again. Brad and Laura

Our family spent a week at the Mountain Home over our spring break. We couldn't have asked for a better place. It was a slice of paradise. The house is beautiful, clean and comfortable, and we loved the gas fireplace. The wireless internet and satellite TV were also nice to have. The location and views were amazing and the setting was very quiet and peaceful. Our kids had a great time too, and enjoyed tromping around the acreage. It was a great location for exploring the surrounding area with an easy drive to Colorado Springs. The owners live nearby and provided prompt help for all our questions and needs. We would love to come back some day and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful mountain vacation.

I hate to tell the rest of the world about this place, because I would really love to keep it all to myself. I loved this house! It was in a perfect location with amazing views. The house is just beautiful. Everything is new, clean and in great shape. The only down fall, being a bathtub lover, was no bathtub, only showers. That was really no big deal, just a personal thing. Everythings else was PERFECT. Hopefully will not get too booked because I want to stay there again any time I am in the area.

Owner response:Thanks Stef, we missed meeting you this time but would love to have you back and we'll meet you then. Glad you and your family had a great time. Thanks, Brad and Laura

She had no idea where we were headed, she's just a good sport and was willing to go along for ride, which is what I love about her. Her eyes being used to viewing the skyline of Los Angles were baffled by Colorado's purple deities standing watch over us as we drove up them. She was able to contain herself until we pulled into the secluded property owned by Brad, that's when she had to ask where we were headed. My answer? It didn't come in the form of words but rather an action, I simply stopped the car. In front of us was nothing but green land that elevated my appreciation for those, once boring, nature paintings seen in hotels. To the left of us was a modern cabin fixed with all the latest amenities. I couldn't of asked for a more comfortable setting for our personal getaway. Everything was more than amazing. From the bathrooms, the beds, and even the community near the cabin, no matter what your background or ethnicity you will be hard pressed to find a more welcoming place. Thanks for the experience Brad, we will never forget it.

Wow we were really impressed with the home and the view. Everything we needed was there and we had no problems whatsoever. Nice and secluded - but you will want an all-wheel-drive vehicle in the winter months as the drive to the home is a bit hilly - but fun! Brad was great and very accommodating - that was very refreshing. I will definitely check back for the next time we want a quite, modern place with an awesome view.

Owner response:Thanks Greg, We're glad you had a great time, and we hope to see you again soon. Yes it is nice to have an all wheel drive vehicle anytime in Colorado, but I do keep the driveway plowed in the winter months, so it shouldn't ever be an issue. Thanks again, Brad and Laura

Brad & Laura thank you for sharing this amazing home. It was all we had hoped for and even more. We took full advantage of the fabulous kitchen. Steaks on the grill, mashed potatoes & fried carrots – all our sons favorites. Coffee on the deck with nature in the morning with a view we had wished for. They even had a carafe for my husband’s decaf so I could have my regular coffee. Pure heaven. Brunches were a breeze with the griddle that fit on top of the stove. Great for homemade hash browns one morning and pancakes the next. The calves visited us the morning we were leaving, turned our 20, 18 & 14 year old boys into little boys again. So friendly and playful, brought smiles to all our faces. Looking forward to coming back again next year.

Many properties are advertised as "mountain homes" but this one truly delivers! This perfectly-appointed cabin is nestled among the trees with a beautiful view of Pikes Peak. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. Although secluded, there is easy access to numerous tourist attractions and outdoor activities. Not to be missed is the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center located nearby.
