Was a great apartment for exploring the city. Holyrood Park within a block - very nice walk to Arthur's seat. The apartment had everything we needed for our three day stay including a Smoothie maker - the first I have seen in UK.

Everything was as expected and even more. Gordon goes out of his way to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. He picked us up at the bus terminal and drove us to the appartment, showing us around the park. He even drove us to the nearby grocery store. The appartment was comfy and very quiet even though there is a rail track nearby (we could barely hear the trains...). A lot of attractions near by accessable by foot (Arthur's Seat, Royal Miles, Holyrood, ...). Don't hesitate to rent this appartment, definitively worth it!
Owner response:Thanks for your kind words . And I am sure the rest of your scotland trip will be as good . Glad I could help with the rest of your plans ENJOY.

The apartment was very clean and well-furnished. The kitchen modern and also well stocked, Gordon was extremely helpful and even picked us up and brought us to the apartment. He also called us the first night to make sure that all was well. The location of the apartment was ideal for us as we loved walking through Holyrood Park and up Arthur's Seat. Walking to the Royal Mile was easy as well. There is a large Sainsbury nearby for groceries and a Tesco near the Park. I would definitely recommend staying here to friends and family.

Our family of 4 spent 5 nights here and it was perfect for us. We arrived by car, and it was so nice to have a garage to park in - no need to worry about finding a spot. We didn't need the car to see the city since it was a short walk through the park to get to the base of the Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, and Parliament. We loved being by the park, with the hiking and running opportunities it offered. We were visiting our son who is studying at the University, and this location really was ideal. The flat was clean and comfortable, well stocked, and easy to book. Having a washer/drying made packing much easier! We would highly recommend this flat.
Owner response:Glad you ENJOYED EDINBURGH , yes the park is Great when rain or SUN , very dramatic view it is ... yes the garage is good and big to park in for at least 2 cars .. but iThe Apartment is so well situated , it makes no need for a car , But pice of mind if your passing through , to have it locked away ... This is a first class apartment extremely well presented with a host that makes it extra special. I have never stayed in an apartment that is as well equipped and the addition of an extensive starter pack was a lovely added touch. If I had go criticise anything it could have been a tiny bit cleaner.
Owner response:Thanks for reviewing your stay . I will take on board your comment , The cleaner the makes the change over can at times miss the odd thing , BUT at 69 years old i feel on the whole makes a good job , as its not hotel prices , I dont have the Hart to give her a telling off ,for a bit of dust ! . If you e mail me the Issues i will look in to it Thanks Again GORDON

Hello Gordon:We are home now and trying to adjust to Canadian time. I cannot find fault with the apartment at all and we appreciate all the unexpected extras: the food, the use of the laptop/internet, the phone, the TV's. To answer some of your questions: Yes: booking was very easy.Thank you tremendously for picking us up at the train station. I would " definitely " recommend your apartment to others. We visited Edinburgh..took several trips to Leith...used the bus for sightseeing all the Best

City Southampton Country United Kingdom Date of Stay March 2012 Testimonial: The apartment is excellent: modern, spacious and comfortable. It is fitted out to a high standard, and a great deal of thought has been put into the needs and requirements of guests. Gordon could not have been more helpful or welcoming. This started from the moment I first made an enquiry about the property. Emails were always informative and friendly, nothing ever too much trouble. This was my first trip to Edinburgh, but I found the city fascinating and will almost certainly return. I would not hesitate in choosing to stay here again, and would be quite happy to recommend it to my friends.

I spent a lovely weekend in Edinburgh with clock mill lane as my base. Fantastic location within easy walking distance to the Royal Mile city centre. Apartment was warm and welcoming with all the facilities you need(and much more besides...) Gordon has thought of everything to aid an enjoyable stay with lots of literature and books about the city and surrounding areas. I went to Roslin Chapel which was an easy 7 mile drive.I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to family and friends.
Owner response:Thanks for adding a review ,Iam glad you took time to visit Roslin. and find all the interesting facts. Enjoy

I stayed at this location for the month of November 2011 and had a wonderful experience. The apartment was clean and comfortable and very convenient to all sites and transportation. Gordon-the-landlord was a joy (I loved his dry wit!) and he had excellent recommendations. The train runs behind the apartment complex but being a native New Yorker I didn't really notice. I'm so happy to have chosen this apartment both for the comfort and convenience and appreciated the accessibility to Holyrood Park. I usually travel alone and never worried for my personal safety during my stay, even walking back from a late night in Edinburgh or from the train station. I also count myself as very fortunate for having traveled to Scotland during one of their warmest Novembers in recent history. I was a little concerned about spending that time of year on the North Sea but the weather cooperated and the apartment was cozy during the very few stormy nights. If you are looking for a trip through history with a warm and comfortable setting to rest after an aggressive day of exploring, I recommend Alba4u2enjoy. Diane C.
Owner response:Thanks for dropping a review on site . It's good when you can take time to enjoy a place for a few weeks ! At A good discount . It's always better that someone gets the use of the Apartment in the quieter months , thanks for the new toaster . Gordon

Booking was quick and easy with Gordon returning our emails promptly, answering all questions honestly and completely. He even provided complete information on traveling from airport to doorstep of property! Although we chose to walk the city, bus service was easily within the block. Buses were prompt, clean and easy to use. Value for our money was excellent-we could cook a bit and relax, watch tv, had access to computer and internet in the apartment. Our son who is studying in Edinburgh came and stayed with us once or twice also-plenty of room. Property was very clean and well kept, instructions for appliances were easy to follow and all was very secure and safe. We would recommend this property to anyone visiting Edinburgh and area-be prepared for some walking as you would in any major city. We enjoyed the Grassmarket area the most simply due to its proximity to the college of Edinburgh. You must climb Arthurs Seat, visit the castle and enjoy a pint at every pub! (good luck, mate, with the latter as there are a mighty lot of pubs!) Cheers, Gordon-we hope to meet you again in the future!

This comfortable and convenient single bedroom apartment is highly recommended. The location is ideal due to its proximity to the centre of Edinburgh (10 minute walk to Holyrood House Palace at the bottom of the Royal Mile). The excellent bus service stops nearby and taxicabs are plentiful and reasonably priced. We are in our early fifties and walked almost everywhere including the grocery store. The apartment is located on a quiet street near the main rail line into the city. Trains pass by frequently but the sound (can't call it noise) did not disturb us. A pullout bed in the living room (lounge) would accommodate children or a second couple. For one couple the amount of space is luxurious. The flat is well furnished and there was enough food for a late meal on the day we arrived and breakfast the next morning. No review of this apartment would be complete without mentioning the owner. Gordon is attentive (but not intrusive), friendly and genuinely interested in ensuring the best possible experience for his guests.

What makes this property so attractive is the attentivness and courtesy of Gordon. From picking us up from the station to taking us to a tour bus and all the information inbetween, we thank you. A great host who could be a tour guide himself! The flat is off the beaten path and could do with a spring clean and less clutter, it is very much like going to stay with a relative and accepting their decoration and style in doing so. Without a car, it is a half mile walk through a park to get to Holyrood where the Royal Mile starts. However, you are at the bottom of a hill and the first half mile of the Royal Mile is not so interesting. You end up walking a lot. There is also a railway line close by the house and the trains can be heard late at night and early morning. Coming back late one night, we were not comfortable walking through the park and our cabbie could not find the place from my directions ( I did not have the name of the street with me ). An ok place but we would not choose again for the above reasons.

From the beginning of our planning until we left, working with Gordon was a pleasure. We booked for 4 nights in September. The booking process was easy and he provided a great deal of information about Edinburgh and how to get to the apartment. As it turned out, we didn't need that because he kindly picked up up at the train station. The apartment is comfortable and well stocked and we especially appreciated the goodies he had waiting for us: breakfast items, sweets, wine - awesome. The first night he even dropped us off at a restaurant he likes so we didn't even have to worry about dinner since our train arrived in the early evening. It was crowded but his connection got us in promptly. Having the WiFi available was especially useful. We spent two very full days sightseeing in Edinburgh, following some of his suggestions. The city bus was quite convenient and we used it frequently. Our third day there we took the train to St. Andrews for the day - a very easy day trip which we enjoyed immensely. Finally, since we had an early flight out of Edinburgh, we used his car service to get to the airport - much easier than worrying about a taxi or shuttle at 5 a.m. Overall, the Edinburgh experience was terrific - we almost felt like we were visiting a distant relative or a friend of a friend. We would definitely stay with Gordon again and highly recommend his apartment.

Thanks Gordon for making our stay in Scotland extra special! We were so impressed by your lovely and comfortable flat and pleased that you had stocked it so well. We didn’t need to visit the store once…except for wine and cheese to replenish supplies for our stay!! How nice it was to have a dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer. The flat was just as advertised! The location – near Holyrood Park – made it very convenient to get to the RR station and the historic areas. We appreciated your taking us to Rosslyn Chapel on our first day, making it an easy trip for two tired people! And, thanks for stopping at the mall so we could purchase a phone. We loved having use of the free Internet so we could contact friends and family during our stay. By the way, thanks for the bus information making the trip into Edinburgh from the airport smooth and for taking us from the station to the flat. Your further assistance when we needed to get to the top of the Royal Mile one day and then to the train station when we left was a huge help. Best of all, we were so happy to make the acquaintance of Josh – thanks for bringing him over! All in all, we consider the Scottish portion of vacation the most enjoyable due to your efforts Gordon and we heartily recommend your flat to anyone considering a stay in Edinburgh. Thank you so much! Wendy and Lynn

We greatly enjoyed staying at Gordon’s during our recent trip to the magical Edinburgh. His flat was very comfortable, and spacious for our family of four (two adults/two teens). It had everything we needed and more. Located within easy walking distance of Old and New Town and on the edge of the beautiful Holyrood Palace and park, we couldn’t have asked for a better launching point. We arrived to a well- stocked refridgerator, very clean and pleasant space, with a modern kitchen, all the appliances you would want (washer/dryer/dishwasher) & internet access. The layout was quite nice – we were never tripping over each other. On top of all that, Gordon could not have been nicer. He even got up early on a Saturday to drop us at the train station. We had a wonderful time thanks in large part to your great place and hospitality. Thanks Gordon! The Duggan Family, West Newbury, Massachusetts - Stayed August 201

The listing of the apartment was accurate, just s short jaunt from the Royal Mile and city center. The property was very clean and well laid out. High quality. Gordon is an outstanding host and went beyond the call of duty. The fridge was stocked with milk and fruit, a wonderful bottle of white wine. Cereal, Ciabata bread, English muffins, and short bread awaited us. All provided us with a great exerience as a result of a most hospitipal host. Further, as new visitors who rented a car, we found ourselves quickly lost in the city. We called Gordon who graciously and in good humor found us and rescued us. As rather independent travelors, we were interested in "off the beaten path" places and events. Gordon seemed to intuit our interests and offered additional suggestions which met our interests to our delight. The available computer at the apartment was also a plus. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family without qualification.

We stayed 5 nights and the llocation, amenities and suggestions at the time of booking exceeded our expectations. To arrive to a stocked fridge of milk, juice, fresh fruit, bread, biscuits etc was fantastic. Holyrood Park is meters away as is the Meadowbank shops and London Road buses. As we were visiting my sister who lives around the corner, and had been to Edinburgh before, we did not need any additional services offered by Gordon. This flat has everything and was so comfortable to come back to after being out all day.location is great - make sure you walk Arthurs Seat and go through the park to get to the Roral Mile! e will stay again.

We had a wonderful stay. It was so nice to have some basic breakfast essentials in the refrigerator so breakfasts were not a problem. We had a few problems with light bulbs and the computer but Gordon came > over himself to make things right. We got drenched in a downpour so it was wonderful to have a dryer for our clothes. A comfortable retreat from the bustle of being a traveller. The apartment provided a place for us to be ourselves. Information provided on the website was accurate and the kitchen was a pleasure to prepare our breakfasts and evening meals. Great TV in the lounge area and good wifi coverage. We were able to buy our supplies at the nearby shopping centre and the walk through the park to central Edinburgh tourist attractions was easy. As was access to the bus when we needed it. What made this accomodation option stand out was the thoughtful support provided by Gordon, the owner. This ranged from assisting us with returning our rental car (a challenging situation), providing some supplies in the fridge for our arrival and providing transport to our train when leaving. We recommend the property to others.

Gordon's accomodations and his personal attention were above and beyond expectations. We have rented VRBO properties in North America and have never had contact other than by phone or e-mail with the owners. Gordon had food basics available when we arrived including a chilled bottle of wine. Laundry and dish detergent was available for use. We felt no need to rush to the store immediately. The flat is very conveniently located. We had a very easy walk to the Royal Mile and made use of the adjacent Hollyrood park and arthur's Seat for walking, hiking and running--wonderful views from the top. It is also close to the city bus stop which we took to the station to catch the bus to St. Andrews. Gordon was also very helpful with advice on where to eat and attractions to see. His personal attention also included a drive to Rosslyn Chapel and then Edinburgh castle as well as a very appreciated ride on Sunday morning to Glasgow airport to pick up our rental car for the remainder of our trip. Thank you so much for everything Gordon. We really enjoyed the rest of our trip in Scotland. The Scottish people we dealt with were all very friendly and helpful. It made me proud to have been born in Glasgow. I am so glad that I finally was able to visit. Doreen, Greg and Karlie

To all those searching for great Edinburgh rental: Gordon's flat is the best in Edinburgh for vacationers wanting to see the sights on a reasonable budget. The apartment is clean, comfortable and fully stocked with all the amenities of home. Gordon also went above and beyond all our expectations by providing food, laudry facilities, an internet connection and transportation to the airport. The flat is not in the center of Edinburgh, but every site in the City is easily accessible by walking about one block up Clockmill Lane to the bus stop on London Road where buses pass every 5 to 10 minutes. A grocery store with ATMs and several good restaurants are also within walking distance. So, save some money and stay with our wonderful, new friend Gordon!

Hi Gordon, we had a great stay in the apartment mid April. Firstly thanks for the help with the dentist my husband's tooth is much better. I have to say the hospitality shown to us was a highlight of the stay. Not only the help with the tooth ( looking for and finding a dentist after 36hours of traveling) but the lift out to Roslyn Chapple and lift to pick up car rental was impressive. The apartment was well apointed and as stated in other reviews having supplies waitng for us was great. We were close to Sainsbury's and also able to make use of taxi and bus travel while in Edinburgh. This is a first class place to stay in Edinburgh, comfortable with everything you would need to self cater and would happily stay again if returning.
Owner response:Thanks. From the Tooth Fairy (smile) It's custom to put a silver coin under your pillow for the fairy "oops " that's only for an extraction . Glad all is well and your whole vacation went without anymore tooth problems .... ENJOY Gordon

My wife and I spent three nights at Gordon's apartment in April, 2011. Gordon was kind enough to pick us up at the coach station and drive us to the apartment, which was beautiful. He even provided some munchies for us to eat. I have no complaints whatsoever about the apartment, except a small one: the washing machine was rather small and slow, but it worked! There was plenty of room and a big, comfortable bed. The east end of the Royal Mile (where the palace is) is within walking distance - about 15 minutes through the nearby park. We found it was easier to take a bus (#15, I believe) from nearby London Road (bus stop was about a five minute walk) to go to the west end of the Royal Mile (where the castle is). One day Gordon suggested that he drive us to nearby Rosslyn Chapel. He located the bus stop for our return trip. Though the Chapel was pretty and quite interesting, we explored the nearby countryside, including the nearby castle, river and bridge and found the scenery to be fantastic. We took many pictures. We consider this day to be the best surprise of our entire five week trip to the UK and Ireland. Gordon recommended some very nice restaurants too. He was a great host, the best we encountered in our whole vacation. Thanks Gordon!
Owner response: well i am glad you enjoyed your trip both of you , yes the chapel is a very interesting part of the history of the 11th centuary .. Sorry about our Uk washers , we dont use top loaders like the USA , which i must say are great. when i vist family in US .. I hope you get a chance to return " Gordon

We stayed in this apartment early April 2011 and had a fantastic time. Great location right behind Holyrood Park and the Salisbury Crags, which also makes getting to the Royal Mile an easy walk. Amenities such as Sainsbury's, fast food, and the bus are a short walk as well. The apartment itself was clean and well-appointed; perfect vacation home for a family of four or long stay for a single/couple. Only complaint is the bedroom is right next to the train tracks, but you get used to it. Definitely recommend

This apartment is very cozy and comfortable-- great bed, slept better than I have in a long time! The biggest reason to stay here is Gordon, the amazing landlord. He picked me up at the train station, had the most delicious homemade soup waiting for me as well as eggs, bread, butter, yogurt, fruit, cookies (oops, I mean biscuits), cereal, milk and juice (and I'm sure I'm forgetting something). He called several times to make sure everything was fine, gave me a lift to new town, and on my last day took me sightseeing to Rosslyn Chapel and the railway bridge over the Forth (and would have taken me to Linlithgow, but I had to practice). He also took me to several stores in search of a carryall to help get my purchases home. The location of the apartment is nice. It took me about 10 minutes to walk through the park to Holyrood and the bottom of the Royal Mile, but I'm short and not athletic. It is a beautiful walk, even in winter. There are always cabs around Holyrood/Parliament, so if you don't want to walk up the hill, you can find a ride there. As I said, I found the apartment very comfortable. Trains go by the bedroom window but they are not loud and didn't bother me. The laptop provided is very nice and helpful for contact back home and making plans for your stay. I had trouble working the gas burners, but that was just me. There is a microwave and I used that for most things. I found everything I needed in the kitchen; never made it over to Sainsbury's, but it is not too far away. I highly, highly, recommend staying here! Thank you, Gordon!

My wife and I stayed at Gordon's flat during Festival in 2009 and had a wonderful time. When we decided to come back there was no question about where we wanted to stay. The flat is spacious and comfortable, and the fridge was stocked when we arrived. It's convenient to Holyrood Park and the palace and the parliament and Arthur's Seat, and it's only a couple of minutes walk to a bus stop with access to the rest of the city. We were quite glad of the nearby shopping center and Sainsbury's for groceries. We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.
Owner response:GLAD YOUR HOLIDAY / some work vacation . went well , i Always look f/word to guest returning to stay. at 3+ weeks you take the top prize . Enjoy all the photos and i look f/w to seeing them. Gordon

This apartment is well furnished, well stocked, and well maintained, with even condiments, detergent, etc. available. Several guidebooks are also in the bedroom with some attraction brochures. What a lovely surprise to have a few snacks already in the kitchen, enough for breakfast the next morn and a hot stew simmering in the crockpot when we arrived! Gordon was gracious, thoughtful and always available. Before our arrival, he even emailed images to help us find our way. He also emailed me an image of my clan castle ruins when he found out we had plans to find it. The condo is conveniently located - we not once took a cab or bus in Edinburgh. We walked EVERYWHERE, all the way up Calton Hill and the Royal Mile within a half hour max. Washer, dryer, laptop with internet service, even a pay as you go cell phone!!!!! We plan to stay here every visit!

The flat is very cosy and well outfitted with every convenience. It'swithin easy walking distance to the Royal Mile shops, restaurants and Castle. Our gracious host Gordon made us feel right at home and even had a pot of home made soup and rolls ready for our late arrival. Thank you Gordon for making our short visit to Edinburgh so enjoyable. If you consider staying anywhere else while visiting Edinburgh, Scotland then Alba4u with Gordon, you are making a big mistake. Both my partner, Jim, and I, work in customer service positions and travel a great deal for work and pleasure. Gordon's flat has everything he advertizes and then some. He was an exceptional host... Everything from meeting us at the train station on arrival after one of the worst snow storms in Edinburgh History to everything he did for us that was above and beyond our expections. The flat is centrally located easy to get around on foot,(even in snow) as we're both in our sixties we walked everywhere during our 8 day stay. So if you're looking for a VRBO Rental in Edinburgh this should be your only choice! It's definitely the best VRBO we've stayed in anywhere in the US, Canada, Central & South American and Europe. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
Owner response: WELL what a glowing report ! And my school report read all those years ago at age 5-10 years said . Could do better !! . Thanks for planning your stay in Edinburgh Gordon

We stayed in the apartment from 26 to 30 October 2010. The apartment has everything you need to really enjoy your visit to Edinburgh. It was immaculate and everything was brand new. Gordon is the ultimate host. He had breakfast items (eggs, milk, butter, etc) already in the refrigerator for us so we didn't have to go the grocery store right away. The apartment is in a perfect part of town for a quick walk to the city center. Edinburgh is a fantastic city with lots of sites and things to do. We will be going back to Scotland, and I will stay in this apartment again. I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you Gordon for a wonderful stay in Edinburgh!!

What separates Gordon's place from other vacation rentals is the care Gordon takes to make sure you have a great stay. It is little things like providing grocery staples such as tea, coffee, milk, sugar jam . . . so that every visitor does not have to buy these things . . . like calling to ensure the instructions for the dishwasher, washer and dryer are understood . . . like getting up at 3:30 in the morning to drive you to the airport for a 6:00am flight!! The apartment is modern and clean and very well equipped. It is a 2 minute walk into Holyrood Park - a gem of park with amazing views of the city - a 5 minute walk to the supermarket and a 10 minute bus ride into the centre of town. The only minor annoyance is that there are no decent restaurants within walking distance. I would highly recommend Gordon's place for your stay in Edinburgh.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying at Gordon's property. It was exactly as described in his listing and we really appreciated the cleanliness and comfort of his nicely decorated apartment. Gordon was a great host. He picked us up at the train station, took us for a quick tour of Edinburgh, left us a starter package of eggs, milk, bread, wine and sweets as well as sightseeing information on Edinburgh and Scotland. We really liked having a washer/dryer in the apartment and the ability to walk into town. We selected his apartment because it is close to Holyrood Palace and the base of the Royal Mile. Thank you Gordon for a great stay and for your parting gift. It is a wonderful souvenir of our time in Edinburgh. We are already happily recommending this place to friends and family.
Owner response:Thanks for planing your stay with me . I enjoyed meeting you both, And it was nice to go to Dinner. O' and if only i planed it right - you could have met Mr Sean Connery , and not have just make Do with his brother Neil in the pub ! remember . ENJOY !! Gordon

Owner response:"Wonderful apartment in Edinburgh" "This apartment is beautiful and so well equipped. Our host, Gordon had left nothing to chance! It was very nice to have the laptop for "pre-book" to visit the castle for example, and prepare for visits by the next day! The decor is perfect. The place is very easy to find by London road: stop right next to McDonalds. A friendly atmosphere is outstanding from the first minutes Chill .... I really recommend this apartment to my friends. OWNER RESPONSE ------------------------------- Thank you for the kind words valerie . I do try my very best to make all my guest feel welcome . Ihope to sometime visit St Tropez . ENJOY Gordon --------- Je vous remercie de votre genre mots valerie, et l'espoir de visiter St Tropez parfois profiter Gordon

Our stay in Edinburgh was wonderful mainly because it was made so easy by our host. The food, transportation and general good will Gordon furnished left us feeling very fond of Scotland and Edinburgh, His flat was the only one we considered when chosing a place and we were not disappointed. A five-star rating from two Minnesotans.
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words - and also for the wild rice from Minnesota. Very nice . Glad you enjoyed your stay. With alba)4u2 Gordon

What a lovely apartment and a wonderful host! Everything was done to make my stay memorable, food in fridge and larder a real treat! Thank you Gordon for the thoughtful phone calls to check if all was well during my stay. Two minutes from the gates of Holyrood Park made for a lovely start to the day, just ten minutes from the Royal Mile from there. Buses handy in the evening when footsore just at the top of the road. I would not consider looking anywhere else when visiting beautiful edinburgh. A garage wow! Not easy to find in central Edinurgh and a real bonus if you are travelling by car. I could not fault the apartment in any way, spotlessly clean, warm and comfy I'm sure in the winter. After my walk through the park I was always ready for my first cup of coffee, (has to be tea first thing!) Always stopped at Holyrood Palace cafe before heading up the mile, very nice and tables outside. Would recommend buying some day bus tickets for when your feet can take no more, well worth £3 a day if you are hopping on and off. Thank you again Gordon!
Owner response:LIL It was indeed a pleasure to meet an Independent minded traveler as you were . A girl ! Yes, as you have such a spirit , I feel that you can be called just that . I hope to see you again and bring along those pals . Tell them to put down them Knitting needles and start Walking if not running at your pace . The appartment is very nice and located very close to the center, although peacefull and silent. It is confortable, perfectly clean and well-maintained. For sure I would recomend this place to some friends, mainly if they can manage with the bedroom. The address does not appear in google, because it is not exactly the name of a street, but it is easy to find it once you are in its proximities.

This full suite was a welcome and econokmical alternative to a Hotel/B&B. My stay followed a week of hotel-hopping. Was great to have my own kitchen and I especially am grateful for the laundry. Gordon the owner understands the needs of the traveler. He was particularly accomodating when he picked me up at my Edinburgh hotel and dropped me at Waverly for the airport shuttle. Those were unexpected acts, but very appreciated when toting several pieces of luggage.
Owner response:GLAD that all your plans worked out , even last min ones can be eventfull . Hope you have recoverd from all the bike trails - from one end of scotland to another . Gordon here to help !

The apartment was everything we had bargained for. It was comfortable, clean and Gordon had left us the basic needs, such as bread, milk, eggs and other things. He was there to receive us in person and took the time to checkup on us during our stay to make sure we were doing fine and were not in need of anything, Everything was walking distance, though a little further than we had hoped. Once we walked back to the apartment in the evening, we did not wish to go back into the city. As far as we are concerned, that was the only draw back. If we were to return to Edinburgh, we probably would contact Gordon again.

Gordon provided us a very lovely Scottish experience. He picked us up at the bus station, whisked us off to the apartment. It was extremely well stocked with eggs, milk, cereal, fruit, coffee, orange juice, bread, rolls, bacon, even wine and a box of chocolates. Kitchen was very well equipped for cooking meals. A short walk to Sainsburys grocery store. A quick taxi or short walk to Waverly Center bus stop area. Near the Royal Mile leading to Edinburgh Castle. Equipped with washer/dryer and dishwasher. (I hope Gordon has forgiven me for accidentally putting clothes washing soap in the dishwasher creating a foamy mess!) Free internet and local phone use. Gordon even came and picked us up and drove us to Rossyln Chapel (of Davinci Code fame) built in 1400's. A must see in Edinburgh as is the castle. If you are downtown, try lunch at Dirty Dick's Pub, great food!! We have never had a more helpful host and a more well stocked apartment in all our travels. Other places we have stayed charged extra for the "welcome pack" of food that Gordon provided for free! It couldn't have been a better experience!! Ken and Marilyn
Owner response:Ken and Marilyn" Glad all was well with your vacation ,dishwasher was fine ,it took 3 goes to clear soapy water , had a laugh thinking of you both panicking !! - more things to worrie about in this life . Have a good time with the rest of your holiday. Take the train to bournemouth and Poole for a weekend. , visit monkey world in Poole it's good "say hi to Gordon the orangutan , he is funny . You will like it. Enjoy Gordon

Our stay at Gordon's apartment was great! The flat was furnished with everything we required plus the use of the laptop made it even better. The apartments location was within walking distance of city center and adjacent to Holyrood park and Arthur's Seat. In the other direction, a short bus ride or walk took us to the beach and boardwalk. Gordon is a great host, ensuring we had everything we needed and communicated with us promptly before and during our stay. Thank you Gordon - Ed & Laura

This apartment was a great place to stay for several days. With a kitchen and laundry machines, it was a perfect place to settle in for a while and not have to live out of a suitcase. It's not immediately in the center of town, but it's a quick bus ride in to everything. It is a quick walk to Hollyrood Park and Arthur's Seat, just around the corner. There is also a McDonald's and grocery and shopping very close by. We were very happy with our stay, and would love to stay there again in the future.
