Location: I grew up on the Island. This is the first season that I am renting my beach house. Location is everything. This is ideal with spectacular water views!!! Located at the narrowest part of the Island, it is a few steps from either the Basin or the Ocean. It is located 50 feet from the Basin (for boating) and a 2 minute walk to the Ocean with 7 miles of sandy beach for sunbathing and swimming. The Basin view from, the house deck, is unobstructed and beautiful ! At daybreak you can often see snowy white egrets stalking the marsh. Daytime brings pleasure boats and wind surfers moving with the tide. Sunset brings colors across the sky and Basin water.
You can launch a kayak from the yard or walk down this quiet side street to the ocean. You can peddle a bike 1/2 mile to the Parker River Wildlife Refuge entrance. You can pedal 1 mile to Plum Island Point where Fishing Charters and Harbor cruises depart. The house is 3 miles from Newburyport. This historic city, settled in 1635, is well known for its many mansions built by sea captains during the whaling and clipper ship heyday of the 19th century.
House: This is an open concept 3 story 1980's style house that is newly renovated.
Master Bedroom and Deck: The top floor is a large (20' x 20') master bedroom with glass door sliders to a private deck. It has a cathedral ceiling, skylight and ceiling fan. There is a double bed and twin bed (used as a couch during the daytime). Linens and bath towels are provided.
Master Bedroom Bath : There is a large (10' x9') private bath off this bedroom with marble styled shower stall and sky light.
Living Room : The 2nd floor Living Room (20' x 15') has 2 sets of glass door sliders to a deck. The LR has a futon, sleeper couch and ceiling fan.
Living Room Deck : (20' x 12'). From this deck and the Master Bedroom deck, one can view the entire length of the Basin. The deck has a metal patio table and 6 chairs. Gas grill.
The Dining Room (15' x 10') has a skylight and cathedral ceiling, bay window, Italianate design tile floor. There is a table that sits 6.
The Kitchen : is spacious and completely new: new tile floor, new tiled eat at counter with bar stools, new cabinets, new appliances (including a gas stove + refrigerator) new built-in microwave.. Cookware, glassware , eating utensils and dishes are all provided. Has skylight and cathedral ceiling.
Full Bath :There is a full bath (with a newly installed tub and shower combo and tile floor) off the kitchen.
Washer and Dryer :The first floor is an above ground basement with washer and dryer.
Outside : Outside are 2 brick patios (one covered, one not) providing great views of the Basin. There is a garden with day lilies , iris and hosta. There are 2 rose lined brick driveways providing parking for 2 cars.
Restrictions:
No smoking, no pets (note dogs are not allowed on the beach), no subletting. Maximum occupancy is 4. This is a quiet street ideal for a single family or couple.
