Located on 70 acres of fields and wooded hillside in Cheshire, Massachusetts, in the Berkshires, this antique house overlooks a confluence of 2 roaring brooks. In the winter enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing. In spring, summer and fall, hike the property’s many trails. This land is unique for its beautiful, secluded setting, its many wildflowers and abundant wildlife.
The house, beautifully furnished with antique furniture, contains a fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms (1 with a queen bed, 1 with a double, and 1 with two twins), a comfortable living room, a large back deck overlooking the brook below, and a wonderfully stocked children’s playroom.
There is an extensive natural history and fiction library as well as a variety of board games and fun puzzles. High speed internet, cable, and a washer and dryer are available. The gardens are filled with beautiful annuals, perennials and an herb garden. The yard adjacent to the house is fenced from the road and the streams, providing safe play space for children and dogs.
Two bridges span the brook as the property meanders past apple trees and berry bushes. A trail leads into the many acres of wooded hillside leading to a magnificent view of Mt. Greylock and surrounding hills. At night, gather around the fire-pit, tell stories and roast marshmallows while listening to the call of the hollow’s barred owls.
