Welcome to the perfect mix of serenity and adventure at our spectacular mountain home, with the Tahoe National Forest just steps outside the back door! Put your skis on in the driveway to ski directly onto Tahoe Donner's 113 Kilometers of Cross Country Ski trails during the snow season or hike on those same trails during the summer and fall! The Tahoe Donner Downhill ski area is only 1/2 mile away. There are several major ski resorts (Squaw Valley, Alpine, Northstar, Sugar Bowl) and lakes all within 10 miles!
You can go ice skating or play a round of golf, then come back and relax on the over-sized deck in the back of the home with views of Tahoe National Forest. Head over to the club house for tennis, archery, a kids playground, 3 pools, and a fitness center with 3 spas, a sauna, and a steam room!
When you enter the living and dining rooms on the second floor, you will find spectacular vaulted ceilings and a gorgeous river-rock hearth surrounding a thermostat-controlled fireplace. Large windows look through pine trees to the mountains in the distance and there is a large deck off of the dining room with a BBQ and table for your outside enjoyment! In the dining room there is a large table and a bar countertop with additional seating. The kitchen is full stocked and there is a laundry room for your use.
Downstairs you will find a deluxe suite, complete with a private bedroom hosting a King sized bed, a private bathroom with a sitting area in the shower, and a living area with a desk, a cozy sofa and TV with Super Nintendo and 13 games! There is a romantic dual sided fireplace that you can enjoy from both the bedroom and the living suite!
On the main floor there are two bedrooms and a large bathroom with dual sinks. Both of these bedrooms have queen beds. They both have glass doors with a spectacular view over the large deck that faces the Tahoe National Forest.
Upstairs there is a loft, a large bedroom, and a large private bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. There is a King bed in the bedroom and a daybed for sitting or sleeping for two. The loft looks over the living and dining room and has another daybed.

Why the Owner Chose Tahoe Donner
We honeymooned in a mountain home in the Sierras, and wanted to keep that feeling alive. Every year we rented homes until we decided to build our own in a manner perfect for vacationers. We wanted plenty of bathrooms and we wanted the bathrooms to be able to accommodate people at the sinks while other are in the toilet/shower area. We wanted a large counter top for serving food in the kitchen/dining area with bar stools and a large eating area. We wanted a TV area with comfortable seating for many and the ability to watch TV from the kitchen/dining room. We wanted fast wireless internet throughout, an area where kids can play games away from the adults if they desired. We wanted very comfortable beds, two master bedrooms, a bedroom with a fireplace, a big garage, and parking area in the driveway for several vehicles. We wanted large decks for outdoor living with views of mountains and forestry. We chose this location and built this home to fulfill all these wants and more.
The Unique Benefits at this House
In the Spring, Summer and Fall we love sitting on the large deck in the back with the large pine trees, views of the forested mountain, and spectacular sunsets. We love the Pine ceilings and looking at the trees through the windows. We also love that our place is in a mountain wonderland with great hiking trails right out the back and very few automobiles and people; and yet is is only a few short miles from swimming/water sports, golf, tennis, and shopping.
In the Winter we love that we can xcountry ski right out of our garage onto Tahoe Donner's great trail system and we can walk just one mile to the Tahoe Donner downhill ski area that is inexpensive and great for beginners. We also love that we can drive only 20 minutes to any of the big four ski areas: North Star, Squaw, Alpine, and Sugar Bowl. We also love the cozy gas fireplaces that provide lots of heat, are thermostatically controlled, and yet look like wood burning fireplaces.

We just returned from Truckee and I wanted to thank you for a wonderful stay at your cabin. We had a wonderful time and your cabin was just perfect for my family. My wife commented on the personal touches that we noticed in your cabin. My son especially enjoyed the downstairs "master suite" and game room for his two boys. We hope to rent your cabin this winter when we return for our annual snow trip to Tahoe Donner. Thanks again.

This cabin is great and was very comfortable. We stayed in this cabin in early August with two other families for a family reunion and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was close enough to Lake Tahoe (King's Beach @ 30 min) and Lake Donner (10 min), but far enough away from the tourist attractions to relax and enjoy nature. If you have a GPS, I would recommend you bring it or borrow one to help you navigate to and from all your stops throughout the area. Cross country ski trails are literally about 30-40 meters behind the cabin, and made for great summer hikes. There was plenty of hot water and linens for our whole crew. The kitchen and appliances were great, with plenty of dishware, etc. The owners were very accessible and responsive when we needed to communicate with them. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking to vacation in the area.

Stayed at the home four night,3-25-07 thru 3-29-07. It is really beautiful, well kept and very convient. It is very easy to get to everything. My three grandchildren, 4, 7 and 8 went skiing at Tahoe-Donner and loved it. We had a foot of snow on the night after we arrived so the conditions were perfect. In the morning the drive and street were ready to get out by 7 a.m. Very easy to get to other ski places and to Lake Tahoe. We would stay here again. My son came from Tampa, Florida and would come again. Thanks for everything!
