We love our view! The lush green of the grass, palms, and tropical foliage that surround the Summer House pool are below us, and then straight out is the huge beach and ocean! This large two-bedroom condo is in the gated resort community of Wild Dunes, at the northern end of Isle of Palms. We are in a less crowded area of the beach, and yet we are close enough to walk or ride our bikes down to the Wild Dunes Village and Grand Pavilion area, where you will enjoy shopping, restaurants and often live entertainment. The resort offers two Tom Fazio golf courses and 17 Har-Tru tennis courts, available for a fee with the villa's SportsCard. (You can also take a short 25 minute trip and be in downtown Charleston with its museums, aquarium, historic tours, carriage rides, ghost tours and gourmet restaurants.)
Stay for a week or for a month, the layout of our condo means easy living for you. With a separate laundry room in the back, a hall closet, and a pantry in the kitchen, the ample storage space helps it feel more like a home away from home. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed and walk in closet, and its bath has been redone with double vanities and a large shower. The second bedroom has brand new queen and twin beds with plenty of storage space, right next to a nice sized second bath.
The well-equipped kitchen feels open and airy, and has wonderful views of the beach and ocean. Gather at the large dining table for family mealtime, or just pull one of the stools up to the bar for a quick bite. The family room is a great spot to cool down and relax after playing outdoors, with a large TV, DVD-VCR combo, and a Stereo/CD Player with an IPOD DOCKING STATION. (We also have TVs and DVD players in both bedrooms!) We also offer FREE LONG DISTANCE and HIGH SPEED WIRELESS INTERNET access. We feel right at home here, and we want you to as well! And the best part for us is our spacious balcony, where we love to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of ocean living.
Our aim is that you'll feel warm and comfortable, with some little touches to make your stay more relaxing and enjoyable. We hope that you will come and enjoy our villa by the sea, and want to keep coming back year after year!

Why the Owner Chose Wild Dunes
We love Wild Dunes!! The drive time from our home is only 5 hours and 15 minutes (not counting potty breaks), so it's very do-able even for a long weekend. We love the fact that there are no high rise condos on the resort (ours is tall, at just 5 stories.) The golf courses, tennis courts, and bike paths are all very well manicured and beautifully landscaped. We also like the fact that it's a gated community - this gives us extra peace of mind when our two younger kids want to go off exploring on their own. The Grand Pavilion area is awesome on a summer evening - a quick bike ride and we can have ice cream as a reward! Nearby we have many different nature tours and fishing options, superb restaurants, and then of course Charleston being right around the corner is awesome! We also love that even though we feel very relaxed and "away from it all" when we're at the condo, we are only 15 minutes from a huge, upscale shopping center and movie theaters. So much to explore...a week at a time is hardly long enough!
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
We have decided to pay so that our guests will have a Sports Card available to them. The Sports Card is free to you. It provides you free access to the Grand Pavilion area and its pools (after 6pm), and also gives you the opportunity to access the tennis courts and kids programs (for a fee.) The golf courses are also available to you, and of course, the Summer House pool is exclusively for the owners and guests of Summer House villas. We have stocked the villa with some books, and with some of our family's DVDs and VHS tapes, and we also placed some sand toys and 2 beach chairs in the hall closet. (We don't want to guarantee that all this is still there, but we sure hope it is - we put it all there during our Spring Break week in April.) We also have the Free Long Distance, High Speed Wireless Internet, and our kids LOVE that our stereo in the family room has an IPod Docking station. We'd love to hear your ideas on ways to make it even more welcoming for you!

Great restaurant with awesome views. Downstairs is a bit nicer and pricier; upstairs deck has seafood baskets and super views and easier on the wallet.

What a wonderful public playground, with huge live oaks overhanging the equipment! And across the street, behind Alhambra Hall, is a wonderful view of Fort Sumter and Charleston. Beautiful spot for
Pitt Street Pharmacy is well worth a drop in. Other quaint stores, too, and the Post House B&B has a highly regarded restaurant.
Shanes is a good place for BBQ, either eat there, or great for an easy dinner to-go!

We live just north of Atlanta, Georgia, and we've enjoyed family beach vacations for years. With 4 children, ranging in age from 10 to 24, the beach is a place where we can all find things to do that we enjoy. We are still pinching ourselves, trying to believe that we now actually have a beachfront condo! We plan to get over there as much as possible, and we are also excited about sharing it with others! We know the things that made condos we rented stand out for us, and we hope to make ours feel as comfortable and friendly as we can. We feel truly blessed.
