Bear Cub Lodge is a charming 3+BR, 2 bath home that is tastefully furnished for you to enjoy the lake and area without roughing it. You have one wing of the house that has 3 large bedrooms, a king master loft and 2 queens. The king master loft opens to chalet windows to the lake. One queen below also has views of the lake. The "Sleeping Bear" wing adjoins the rest of the house by a quiet sitting room overlooking the lake. The other wing of the home has a large kitchen, dining room and family room with wood fireplace and a large entertainment room with 2 futons for additional sleeping. There is a jetted tub in one of the baths for a long soak after a day on the water and free high speed internet in case you wish to do some work or surf the net.
The lot has level elevation to the water where there is a nice fire pit, private dock and swing at lakeside. You have a large attached deck facing the water attached to a large flat grass yard for games and a basketball hoop out back. You are located on the very south end of the lake, where most of the restaurants and marinas are located so it will be a short boat ride to your favorite dining spot. Long Lake is a large 3,300 acre lake that has a great fishery (It is called the Walleye Capital of Wisconsin!) and has many private bays and over 40 miles of shoreline to explore. The lake has many large bays for recreational boating and sailing.
What separates this lake from many others is that the Boy Scouts own 12 miles of Long Lake shoreline along the eastern shore so you get the feel of a wilderness lake without having to travel too far to enjoy. There are cute little towns to the south (Birchwood) and to the north (Stone Lake) and Hayward a little further north. This cabin is professionally managed by Northwoods Compass, so it will be in perfect shape when you arrive. Northwoods Compass manages over 30 lakefront cabins in the Hayward area. Northwoods Compass has its own website by name which provides all cabin details. They are local and full-time so that you will receive excellent service during your stay. Northwoods Compass has a 24 ft pontoon rental on the lake as well. There is a custom-made Welcome Book that gives you the scoop on area activities, trails, restaurants (with menus) so you can fully enjoy all the area has to offer.

- Long Lake is near a lot of County land and trails for biking, cross country skiing and hiking. Long Lake Road is nearby and is a great biking road with very little traffic, there is a natural spring on the north end.
