ISLAND SANDS IS LOCATED ON ONE OF FLORIDA'S MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES. IT WAS UNAFFECTED BY THE OIL SPILL IN THE GULF AND THE SAND IS CRYSTAL WHITE (SEE PHOTOS) AND READY FOR GUESTS TO ENJOY.
THIS UNIT IS GULF FRONT WITH A PRIVATE BALCONY - THE VIEW IS AMAZING WITH NO OBSTRUCTIONS BETWEEN YOU AND THE WATER. IT WAS BUILT PARALLEL TO THE EMERALD GREEN WATER AND LOCATED AS CLOSE TO THE WATER LINE AS ALLOWED BY LAW IN OKALOOSA COUNTY!! THE BEACH IS LESS THAN 30 FEET FROM THIS UNIT!!
This condo was completely redecorated in 2008. It was remodeled with comfort and tranquility in mind. The colors are subtle and relaxing. It is both FUN and FANCY with palms, seashells, stripes and polka dots.
This unit has a queen-size bedroom with private bath. The living room also has a queen-size sleeper sofa, daybed, and trundle bed. The living room opens with 6' patio doors to a private balcony that overlooks the beach and out to sea. There are tables & chairs for your comfort while on the balcony.
It has a large equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room that was designed to take full advantage of the beautiful beach and ocean view. This unit has all the customary appliances that make packing easier, including microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer, toaster, blender, coffee maker, cooking utensils, 30" Wide Screen HD, TV,DVD,VCR, radio, CD player, and iron. Linens, soaps, and paper products are also provided. We now have free wireless internet service.
This complex of 27 units has a private boardwalk to the beach, well kept grounds, reserved parking, picnic and grilling area and a freshwater swimming pool with lounge chairs and bathrooms. Why the Owner Chose Fort Walton Beach
I fell in love with Okaloosa Island when I watched an engineer build a huge sandcastle on the beach one afternoon. The castle had candles inside the tunnels and a moat surrounding. It was quite a work of art. I watched until the emerald green waves washed it away at dusk. I was hooked, no pun intended! The sand on the beach was so white, the sunsets amazing and the town was perfect. It had everything to offer within 3 miles. It was 6 miles from Destin Harbor so had the same emerald green water as Destin without the traffic. The unit itself was large and had a huge balcony overlooking the Gulf. One of my loyal snowbirds described it as a "Million Dollar View".

This unit is decorated with comfort and relaxation in mind. It is tasteful but fun. It is larger than most one bedroom units because it was built before they began to run out of beach so is roomy and has all the amenities needed. The amazing ocean view can be seen from the kitchen, eating area, living room and private balcony that overlooks the Gulf.
As Close to the water line as the law allows, if you threw a stone from the balcony you would hit sand! Amazing sunsets, 5 miles from Destin Harbor

By way of introduction I am a working Mom who keeps books for our City School System in my hometown, Tuscaloosa, Al.. I have also lived in Georgia and Nevada. In the evenings and on weekends I rent daily & weekly accommodations in Florida, Gatlinburg and guest quarters for Special Events in Tuscaloosa, Al. I have always wanted a restaurant or hotel so this type of business satisfies the need to work with people and provide a service that is needed and appreciated. I get the extra bonus of
meeting people from all over the United States.I started this rental business in 1988. It is hard work but worth it. My goal is to give every guest the best accommodations at the best rate. When my guests are happy, I'm happy!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo the 3rd week of July, 2011. The balcony view was awesome! We saw dolphins a couple of mornings. Many choices of restaurants and shopping in nearby Destin. Again we had a great time and would highly recommend anyone to stay here...you won't be disppointed.

A truly relaxing stay at a perfect location. My soul is rejuvenated. My highlights: watching schools of rays patrol the shoreline and the antics of the birds frantically fishing! The condo is located perfectly - with a fantastic ocean view. I left the sliding doors open at night to hear the sound of the surf as I slept (best sleep in years!) The beaches were quiet at this time of year, and after Thanksgiving, i was often the only one on the beach. The photos dont do it justice - its even better! Gloria was very helpful in all our communication and the unit was as described. I loved it and was truly very sad to leave. I will be back, have no doubt.

My husband and I have stayed at Gloria's place for the past 2 years and will continue to return, year after year! This place is beautiful, and the pictures show only half of what is really there!!! This year, while swimming mid-morning, we watched Dolphins play nearly 50 yards away from where we were. Last year, we watched them from the balcony...every morning. I have visited Destin every year,for the past 15 years. Now that I am older, and married,I am not impressed with the hustle and bustle of Destin. I loved Gloria's place because it is quiet and not so busy. However, we are close enough to Destin, if we choose to go over the bridge. The ISLAND has everything there that you need to make your stay complete. Plus, the city of Fort Walton has a lot of hidden treasures to find. Most people will overlook them because they prefer Destin, as it is a well known city. More people should visit the western side of town, more often.

This condo was wonderful. Although it is a condo and not a private home, it has a beautiful home like feel to it. It was very quiet and low key.. just what we needed. The condo itself was well equipped with everything we needed. It was also a pleasure to deal personally with the owner versus a big realty company where you are just a number. The beach was pristine. We kept our eye out for tar but the water was absolutely crystal clear without a single sign of any oil. The only sign that there was a problem, were the BP workers on the beach. The restaurants in the area are just fantastic. Our favorite is the Old Bay Steamer, Pandora's has great food and awesome entertainment (Greg Pendleton), and just a short drive to Destin to eat at Dewey Destin's is well worth it.. very reasonable prices and the best Crabcakes ever. Terrific Visit! We will be back.

My husband and I have stayed with Gloria for the past few years and would not consider staying any where else when in Ft. Walton. Our first stay was wonderful, and we have returned every year on the same weekend for our anniversary. The owner is a great person to deal with and does everything that she promises. The condo is wonderful with spectacular views of the beach. The photos are great, but wait until you actually see the property! It is one of the few places I would choose to live, upon our retirement.
