Hawk’s Nest is the perfect home for the large group desiring gulf-front accommodations. Located behind an expanse of low dunes, adjacent to the Grayton Beach public beach access, Hawk’s Nest is 3,000 square feet of coastal comfort for up to 14 guests with fabulous views of the turquoise gulf from every level. Additional accommodations for 20 are available at its sister property – the 6-bedroom Hawk’s Landing – only 100 yards away. Guests reserving both homes are eligible for a discount.
Recently renovated, this upscale 4-story beach house is wrapped in deep balconies on the gulf side and includes 1,000 square feet of covered area at ground level - all affording unparalleled views of the gulf just beyond. Two outdoor showers on the lanai’s north side keep the sand outside. Grayton Beach landmark The Red Bar is located just one block north.
There are three bedrooms on the second floor and two bedrooms – including the master - on the fourth floor. The home’s gathering area encompasses the entire third floor, and features large picture windows framing the sugar-white sand and gulf waters beyond. Two sets of glass doors provide access to the deep wrap-around balcony. The renovated kitchen is equipped with warm wood cabinets and granite countertops.
Beloved by residents and visitors alike, Grayton Beach is known for its laid-back charm. A perennial Grayton favorite is The Red Bar, renown for its casually delicious menu and funky atmosphere. This and several other quaint shopping and dining options are within easy walking distance of both Hawk’s Nest and Hawk’s Landing. Grayton Beach is one of the Beaches of South Walton, encompassing 26 miles of pristine coastline. It is the only destination in the country to have its entire coastline certified as “Blue Wave” by the Clean Beaches Council for it commitment to maintaining unspoiled shoreline and natural habitat.
Boutique shopping and dining can be found at Watercolor and Seaside, six miles to the east. Four major shopping, dining and entertainment destinations are within 23 miles. Grand Boulevard’s restaurants and shops are only seven miles west. Just two miles further is Silver Sands Factory Stores with over 100 designer names. Continue west for five more miles to Destin Commons, a premier lifestyle center anchored by Bass Pro Shops and 14-theater Rave Motion Pictures. An easy 23-mile drive to the east is Panama City’s new Pier Park, a mega outdoor shopping mall consisting of over a million square feet of specialty shops, retailers, and restaurants - plus the 16-cinema Grand Theatre.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property far exceeded our expectations! Last house on the street with unimpeded view of the beautiful beach. Verandas on every floor. Master bedroom and bath awesome. Huge walk in shower with 2 shower heads. Wish I had room to build one of these in my house! There are lots of stairs to go up and down so beware of that. We stayed at a nearby home two years ago and really enjoyed our stay but i decided to roll the dice and booked the hawk's nest this time around. The gulf views are tremendous, I don't think the pictures really do it justice. The only negative is that it's adjacent to the public access road to the beach. But you are also close to the volleyball net, and the house is a fantastic place if you enjoy people watching! We had a few minor problems (light bulbs burnt out during the stay) and the staff took care of the issues very quickly. There were a total of 4 families and 11 people staying in the house and we all had plenty of room. We will definitely be looking to book this home again in the future! We were able to collect shells, do some very interesting people watching and on Tuesday we watched dolphins swim close by - very exciting. The house was large enough for 10 people - ages ranging from 52 to 6 months. The master bedroom and bath are incrediable! When family gets to be a little much, it is a great place to escape. The kitchen is well stocked. We had several family meals at the house. Kids, grownups had plenty of places to chose to eat - innside and out. One warning- stay away from the 2000 piece puzzle! Over all we had a great time and the Red Bar is right there down the street (if you go in through the backdoor). We had lunch there twice. Great fish sandwiches Manager responded on 7/30/2011: Hawks Nest is a wonderful property and we are glad to hear you and the family enjoyed. We will make sure to put a warning label on the 2000 piece puzzle. Close to road leading to beach for fishermen made for fun watching-not so many charters that it posed problem on access.Careful parking required in tight spaces. Completely outfitted house with good kitchen,2 refrigerators,icemaker,2 walk-in tile showers. Our main concern was that the 2 queen bedrooms were unequal:one had beautiful big bathroom,the other shared bathtub & small bathroom with bedroom of children in 2 bunk beds, & bedroom was smaller. Master suite up on 4th level was magnificent, with ceiling fan & super bathroom.Children were hoping to collect seashells--not available here. Nice beach at state park nearby-no cars there. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hawk's Nest turned out to be one of the reasons that our stay on Grayton Beach will be a treasured memory forever. The location is right on the beach and large windows with balconies on each floor provide dramatic views of the beach and Gulf in all directions. While beautifully decorated, the house provided both, areas of seclusion and privacy, along with a gorgeous large gathering area on the third floor. The two full size refrigerators, separate icemaker, and concealed washer and drier were a real convenience located in this same area. Our family will definitely be looking forward to staying here again on future trips to Grayton Beach.
