Welcome to Tir Na N'og, “Land of the forever young”, a luxurious beachfront estate on 10 secluded acres of gardens and walkways. Tir Na Nog includes a spectacular private beach, manicured grounds surrounded by coconut palms, flowers, fruit trees, and a private tennis court.
Tir Na No’g was built in 2007 by local carpenters and craftsmen under the vision of famed interior decorator David Flint Wood. Decorated in the elegant style of an old Caribbean plantation house, the four separate housing structures allow for bedroom privacy, along with group dining and socializing in the Great Hall and surrounding patios. The estate is rented to only one group at a time, and all structures are included in the weekly rate.
Tir Na Nog is situated in the most sought-after location on Eleuthera, the Atlantic seashore on the Banks Road, where a select number of estates overlook a beautiful pink-sand beach, only minutes from nearby restaurants. The buildings on the estate include:
1. THE GREAT HALL: This elegant colonial-style building, surrounded by a large, wrap-around porch with sweeping views of the estate, is the gathering place for fine dining, relaxation and entertaining. The Great Hall features a full kitchen and large dining area with seating for 12. The spacious living/entertainment area, elegantly furnished in old plantation style, includes a large flat-screen satellite TV, DVD movie library, WIFI, books for children and adults, and board games. The Great Hall also has a breezy outdoor dining area with a gas grill, and a roof deck with views of the ocean.
2. THE MAIN HOUSE: This lovely colonial building features another large wrap-around porch with views of the tennis court and gardens. Inside are three bedrooms, each with a full en-suite bathroom and separate entrance from the porch. Two of the bedrooms have king beds. The third has twin beds with two additional trundle beds
3. THE BEACH COTTAGES: These two romantic cottages with views of the ocean have king bedrooms with full bathrooms, under-counter refrigerators, coffee makers, and outdoor seating areas with deck chairs. They are located 100 yards from the Main House and Great Hall for privacy.
4. THE TIKI HUT: This beachside, open-air shelter has shady seating under a thatched roof. The nearby Cabana has outdoor showers and a storage room housing beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, and beach toys.
5. THE TENNIS PAVILION provides shady seating on white wicker furniture beside the tennis court. The pavilion is fully equipped with tennis rackets and balls. It also contains a laundry room with washer and dryer.
MORNING MAID SERVICE (every weekday except holidays) and on-site caretaker are complimentary at Tir Na N’og. A private chef can be arranged.
A VAST REEF just 300 meters offshore ensures idyllic kayaking and snorkeling conditions for anyone staying at Tir Na N'og. We have plenty of snorkeling gear, as well as beach recliners and water loungers for those of us who prefer to spend the day taking in the sun. Kayaks can be rented for use during your stay. We also have a baby monitor, pack and play crib, and kids’ beach toys for those traveling with children.
THE FAMOUS BEACH RESTAURANT AND BAR Tippy’s is just a ten-minute walk down the beach. Other upscale restaurants within easy driving distance include The Beach House, The Bistro at Sky Beach Club, and Cocodimama. The town of Governors Harbour, just two miles away, has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Loved Tir Na Nog! It was perfect for our family. It was a great place to have some alone time with fantastic views and also great to have gatherings in the great hall. The accomodations were perfect. You have to rent a car to get around and explore. Everyone is very friendly on the island and if you need directions, just stop and ask! There are a great many places to get authentic Bahiamian food but we did eat dinner and breakfast because it was a great way to start the day together before we went to ur various activities! We went deep sea fishing, my husband caught a 90 lb wahoo and one of my sons caught a 50 pd dolphin among various fishes! We also went scuba diving! Bring a great book to read and relax on the beach or in the hammocks! Thanks for a great family memory!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

Tir Na Nog exceeded all our expectations. Tir Na Nog is spacious and well maintained. We had the best time playing on the private beach, swimming in the ocean, playing tennis, or lawn golf and just enjoying our time together in the main house. Tir Na Nog is well appointed, comfortable and offers just about everything you need for the perfect vacation. The views of the ocean are breath taking. It was a vacation none of us will soon forget. The estate was cleaned daily during the week, and the property manager saw to our every need. Tir Na Nog is truly a magical place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at Tir Na Nog was very fun and relaxing. It is everything the pictures show and more. We spent most of our time at the beach, which is more beautiful than pictures can describe. Kelly was extremely nice and helpful, and quick to respond to requests. All of Matt's help in organizing our trip was very much appreciated - he always responded to questions very promptly. All of his recommendations and suggestions were helpful. Reef fishing and conch diving were trip highlights. And we ended the week with a family tennis tournament on the Tir Na Nog court. If you aren't looking for the high activity level and loads of people associated with a resort vacation, this is an amazing, peaceful place!Did you find this review helpful? We were just at Tir Na Nog with three couples, perfect for a group of friends to relax. The property provides privacy for each couple, with a common living area to gather. The care takers were wonderful and available for any questions as needed. The beach was perfect and relative to others on the island, the best for long walks, snorkeling or just relaxing. And, survived hurricane Sandy better than others. You are a walk away from local restaurants - Tippy's for the best food in town! Coffee and great baked goods a walk away too! We have been to Eleuthera several times, and this house is one of the best! Location, location, location!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Tir Na Nog was a lovely property and perfect for our group of friends and family. Each person or couple had an equally beautiful room and private bath. The estate gave us privacy, yet a wonderful gathering place and one of the most beautiful and beaches anywhere. The staff was helpful and friendly and our housekeeper kept everything spotless on a daily basis (except Christmas Day when we sent her home).Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed the stay at Tir Na Nog very much. It would be perfect with the set up for large groups as well. Kelly and Christine were wonderful. Both were very polite and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property. The only draw back which was not that bad was the limited availability to groceries and better qualities of wine.Did you find this review helpful? We spent a wonderful week at Tir Na Nog! The property is incredible!! From the coconut lined path, leading you from the main entrance, past the lovely plantation houses to the pink sand beach with turquoise water - it was just beautiful!!! We were 2 families - each with 4 kids. We had more than enough room! The plantation houses were well decorated and extremely comfortable. The beach was amazing!! Beautiful sand - wonderful for long runs in either direction!! The reefs were awesome and provided exceptional snorkeling!! There were several reefs you could walk to from the beach. The best snorkeling was reached by short kayak rides in every direction from the beach We saw all types of fish, sea turtles and all kinds of coral. There were bonefish cruising the shallows - even caught a few!! Make sure you rent kayaks!! Walking the beach to Tippy's and The Beach House restaurants & bars was always fun! Great food & drinks!! Riding our bikes a short distance to The Banks Road Bakery & Deli was a morning ritual! Delicious freshly baked pastries!! Our days were filled - always something to do!! Staying at Tir Na Nog was a unique experience - we had a wonderful vacation!! We highly recommend a visit!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

There were 12 of us ranging from 7 months to (not going to say). It was a family vacation and the property could not have been much better for hanging out, enjoying every minute and loving our ammenties. The washer situation needs to be resolved, but other than that, everything was great and I highly recommend a stay at Tir Na Nog. Our daily housekeeper and the caretaker were definately on their game. Just loved them and their attitude to us and life itself.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Tir Na N'og is a beautiful property that allowed for a welcoming stay and provided a relaxing vacation. Having vacationed in Eleuthera for five years now, this was the first time we stayed at Tir Na N'og. We had a group of 9 people, thus needing the bigger location. This property provided welcoming accommodations for a large group by allowing us time to spend together in the Great Hall, as well as private times in our own rooms/cottage. Each room was cozy and comfortable, as well as beautifully decorated. The layout of the property was extremely easy to navigate and worked well for our group. All rooms were well-maintained and clean. We truly appreciated the efforts of the ladies who take care of the property as well as you personally. Arlene and Christine were friendly as they cleaned our rooms daily. Kelly provided wonderful services as the property manager, even stocking the fridge for us prior to our arrival. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of - a true blessing! The location was perfect, just a short car-ride or walk down the beach to two of our favorite dining locations; Tippy's and The Beach House. It was convenient to be so close to Governor's Harbor, a quick drive when we needed supplies or to meet the fisherman for fresh fish. The beach was perfect and we appreciated the Tiki Hut for shade and relaxing when we didn't want to be in the sun. Just like our many times vacationing in Eleuthera before, we didn't see anyone else on "our beach". Just how we like it! If we ever take a large group with us again, this will be our top pick. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home/property with us and we hope to vacation there again! If you are looking for a the quintessential Eleutheran experience, with no hesitation I would highly recommend Tir Na N'og!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is a very unique and relaxing place that promotes togetherness while at the same time offers a wonderful sense of privacy. The main house is the meeting place, with fully equipped kitchen, dining and living rooms which are extremely comfortable. There are also large covered porches and a rooftop deck for sunsets. Nothing has been overlooked in terms of the kitchen or living spaces, we were extremely comfortable. There is high speed internet and Direct TV, too. Then there are 2 separate houses, 1 with 3 bedrooms (2 with kings, 1 with 2 twins) and 2 individual cottage/suites closer to the ocean, all of which rival anything you will find at a luxury resort. We had 2 families, with 4 teens, the kids shared the big house and the adults took the 2 cottages, which have lounge chairs on their decks with ocean views. There is a path to the beach where there is a shed with chairs, umbrellas, rafts, fishing and snorkeling gear. The beach is what you would expect, the water is incredibly clear and blue. There a also reefs a short walk down the beach or if you are adventurous, a short swim away. There is a bar and beachfront restaurant, Tippy's, which is a 15 minute walk down the beach. (walk home from there at night on the beach to see more stars than you can ever imagine) we rode the bikes, played tennis (there are racquets but bring your own if you're a player) There is daily made service and the property manager is always responsive and available. When our blender broke we had a new one in hours, we needed tennis balls, again right away. Eluethera is a quite island, so don't expect much nightlife but the local Do: go to Tippy''s and The Beach House (Mon and Thurs), which are both very close and very friendly. Go to the Friday night Fish fry in Governor's Harbor Go to Harbor island, leave early and spend the day there, cruise around on a golf cart then go up Chapel st. to Pink Sand beach between Pink Sands and Coral Sands resorts, have lunch at Sip-Sip. Enjoy!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Tir Na N'og is a place where you can truly find serenity, and take some time for yourself.
Why the Owner Chose Governor's Harbour:
I bought Tir Na N'og in 2007, and had it renovated and decorated by renowned interior designer and author of the book 'Island Living', David Flint Wood. The 10 acre estate is situated on an old plantation, and its heritage is reflected in the all of the buildings and furnishings.
Eleuthera means 'freedom' in Greek, and this Island which has managed to escape the mass development which has occurred in most of the Bahamas, really does give you a sense of relief.
